The one star is because I am unable to give them zero stars. This is the most useless business we have ever dealt with. Our Bogen closed combustion fireplace has been in their hands since February 2025 to be repaired. From then up to today we still don't have the fireplace and are doubtful that HeatKing actually has the fireplace or can find it. We have had to send photos to them twice, to show them which it is and still no reply or fireplace. If you want service or a decent fireplace DO NOT USE HEATKING.

I contacted Heat King to ask them to help me with an indoor fireplace that is not working properly. They send me a quote for R1750 that includes a "service". I speak to the consultant and ask them if they can also quote me on a repair of the top part of the fireplace. That was not in the quote (even after I was requested to sent them photos). I followed up asking them when they will come through. They take a few days to respond and then gives me a date. We agree on a date - and they dont arrive. I then ask them why did they not come through - and get told that I had to PAY them the quote before they will come to site. Why must I pay for a service upfront? They dont even know if a "fireplace service" is required yet. They have not quoted me on repair of the top part, not the issue I have with the regulator. I tell them that I wont pay them upfront - they will do the work and THEN I will pay them. I then get told - oh we only have time available in a weeks' time. What nonsense is this? Clearly this company does not need work, or customers. They dont provide a proper quote, nor a proper feedback (customer service) and dictate what I should and should not do and when THEY are available. Where is the customer service in that?

The fireplace was delivered promptly, but due to ongoing construction at my mum’s house, the installation was delayed. When it was finally installed, Heat King’s team had to create a hole in the ceiling and roof to fit the chimney. I trusted that their team knew what they were doing and that this was a professional job. During the winter, the fireplace worked perfectly, and we were satisfied. However, come summer and the start of the rains, we noticed water leaking through the area where the chimney had been installed. We contacted Heat King, as we couldn’t understand why a company that claims to be specialists in heating would leave us with a leak in the roof where they had made the hole. Initially, the managers were reluctant to help because several months had passed since the installation, but eventually, they sent a team to address the issue. The team claimed the problem was due to missing parts from the original installation and assured us it was fixed. This work was done during dry weather, so we couldn’t immediately test if the issue was resolved. To our shock, when it rained again, the water continued to come in. Not only that, but after their second visit, they sprayed the fireplace with some substance that caused the entire house to fill with smoke when we lit it. It took a long time for the coating to burn off completely, but the leaking persisted. Fast forward to the recent heavy rains in December 2024 and January 2025, and my brother decided to inspect the roof himself. What he found was appalling: not only had Heat King failed to fix the issue, but they had also made the hole even larger. The water has been pouring in, causing the fireplace to start rusting. We are now forced to find and pay someone else to repair the damage they caused. It’s incredibly frustrating. We paid a significant amount of money, ensured we had all the necessary parts, and were promised proper installation. Instead, we’ve been left with a damaged roof, a rusting fireplace, and no accountability from Heat King. Evelin, who helped us in the store, was kind and professional, but the installation team and after-sales service have been nothing short of a nightmare. I strongly advise against buying from this company. If you do, make sure to hire a different company for installation, because Heat King’s so-called specialists will leave you with a gaping hole in your roof and no support during the rainy season. Dawie and his team at Heat King did a great job on my gas geyser installation. They arrived on time, installed and even waited ro test the geyser and the bypass mechanism. From Nash in the back office to Thomas, Henry and Pieter (onsite installation team), a very professional experience. I really appreciated their understanding on what I was trying to achieve from an aesthetic perspective. They did a meticulous job and cleaned up after themselves at the end of the day. I would recommend them and intend using their services at my other properties in due course. From reading earlier reviews where feedback was negative, they certainly are doing their best to improve communication and customer experience.

I am having the worst experience with the most unprofessional people ever. I have dealt with many gas companies, this is the worst!!!!!! The staff are rude. They promise and dont deliver. I lodged a complaint THREE weeks ago about a gas geyser ARISTON that is not working. They forgot about me. After numerous calls they said that some one would come out to take photos. The person came and was he so rude. We were then told that he needs to come back as he took the wrong photos. He came back a week later, took more photos and last week we were told that it is still wrong!!! Meanwhile my 80 year old dad and 76 year old mom have NO hot water, in winter for more than three weeks. The CEO has not returned my calls either. THREE weeks and I have no progress. Heat King you are unprofessional

I am having the worst experience with the most unprofessional people ever. I have dealt with many gas companies, this is the worst!!!!!! The staff are rude. They promise and dont deliver.
