HILLSIDE There is a small rather insignificant village in the great Karoo, named Trompsberg. It is about midway between Cape Town and Johannesburg,making it an ideal overnight stop. Just outside of Trompsberg is Hillside, a large modern working farm. It is alo a bird hotspot, where you have the choice of getting up early with the call of the , huge bathroom, b 7s handrail for decrepit like ye.huge bathroom, b 7s handrail for decrepit like ye.nightjar or a bit later with the hadedas. This beautiful farm has well-appointed, air conditioned suites, with all the facilities one would need: huge bedrooms with comfortable beds, spacious bathrooms with fitted handrails for handicappers like me. Delicious dinners are served in your suite, on request. The specialties include mutton curry, homemade pie and bobotie. Chocolate brownies and ice cream rounds off the evening meal. You are pampered by a motherly ‘gogo’, who prepares and serves a continental breakfast. Highly recommended and definitely worth a visit!

the food, service and overall experience at HILLSIDE TAVERN is superb, for a hearty meal , good wine and the best service ever, prices are well worth the dish

My go to place
Always such a pleasure to dine at Hillside Tavern. The food is unbelievable and the staff is always very pleasant and well dressed. This is my go to place for all functions. Thank you guys

Hillside Tavern - the best
Best trinchado! Bought a bottle of their trinchado sauce and now I'm a hero in the kitchen too. Have been customers of Hillside since the early 80's and they have NEVER disappointed. We live in Jhb now but easily make the trip out to Pretoria to visit one of out favourites.

Hillside Tavern MUST VIST!
We were pleasantly surprised by this restaurant revamped, pristnely neat and clean and food absolutely wonderful!! Will definitely recommended very romantic but also completely child friendly healthy wholesome dishes also!
