Horizon Pools comes out tops in pool repair
Horizon Pools came to our rescue after a total ************ local pool expert made a total mess of our pool repair - leaving a 2 metre crack at the bottom of the pool and conditions dangerous to kids and animals around the pool, he walked off the job. Although they were faced with many challenges - most significantly from our winter weather, they did an excellent job of repairing our pool and left it in an immaculate state. Particular thanks to 'team leader' Sheldon who did a fine job of supervising the various skilled workers in the team. We have a pool again!! They are scoring 4 out of a possible 5 stars only because the mysterious problem of a non-functioning pool cleaner has remained with us despite the attentions of the two pool companies over many months...

Bad service Horizon Pools Western Cape
They are great at sales but that is where it ends. They have very unprofessional teams that do the installation. They comleted my pool after many delays, they installed paving blocks, the grout between blocks kept on cracking I was told its normal, they rapaired the cracks and the cracks appeared again only to be told again that its normal and that they would only come back after the winter rains have passed. They are quick to ask for payment of deposits and other money but non existent when it comes to aftersale service.

How disappointing
Loveliest people. And this is where it ends. The procedure of building a new pool has been one ongoing nightmare. From dreadful communication with the client to handing over an incomplete job and a dirty pool - too many things have gone wrong to even start the list - very very disappointing to say the least.

How disappointing
Loveliest people. And this is where it ends. The procedure of building a new pool has been one ongoing nightmare. From dreadful communication with the client to handing over an incomplete job and a dirty pool - too many things have gone wrong to even start the list - very very disappointing to say the least.

Horizon Pools - terrible service
Terrible service. Sales pitch and marketing are their strong points, but unable to deliver the service. Installation scheduled for 26 Sept. On arriving they could not start the job as they were not aware of the terrain. Even though they were on site to quote 4 months prior and were fully aware of the hard rock conditions however there appeared to be no communication between the sales and installation teams. With no new date scheduled but day to day failed promises of being there, they eventually started on 12 October. Were on site for 2 days, disappeared and reappeared again on 19 October, again only for 2 days, and disappeared again until 26 October. After much complaining 3 weeks into the job was the first time they were on site for a full 5 day week. Installation riddled with bad planning, lack of communication between horizon office & installer, materials not being ordered on time, and builders sitting around on-site waiting for materials to be delivered. We are now 5 weeks into a job which we were told would take 2 weeks, and the project is still incomplete, again builders have had to pack-up early for the day as they are missing materials, which Horizon have failed to order on time. Complaints to Horizon offices result in them blaming their sub-contractor, which surely it is their job to vet & manage. I will definitely not be recommending the Helderberg branch of Horizon pools.

I have had a thoroughly miserable experience with this company. Their initial installation had a leak which cause the paving to collapse. The repair work was very badly done and they left my pool full of rubble when they left. They said they would clean it but never returned. I still have to redo the paving due to their bad workmanship. My pool tilted when they were doing the repair work and i raised concerns about this. They said they would double my warranty period on the pool since I was concerned about the structural integrity. I never saw that paper work. No pride in workmanship and not willing to fully own their own mistakes.

Delays, no-shows, lack of communication and extreme frustration
12+ days of work missed due to materials not being ordered on time. No-show days with no communication. 10:45am on a dry, sunny Monday, no-one arrived for work again and no communication received. My back garden was a construction site for 7 weeks. During the sales pitch I was told work would take 3 weeks weather permitting. I have paid R130000 in cash (90%) of the job and I have asked for all materials to be delivered to site as i cannot trust their timing and don't want further delays yet they won't do that and this no show service is what I get? They were 10 pavers short. They brought an additional 10 to site and cemented them in despite me saying they look different to the others. Turns out the pavers were collected form the wrong supplier and they now have to come back and lift up and replace the 10. I would not recommend using these guys for anything more than the pool and it's immediate coping around. They cannot project manage at all so expect delays. Rather get a building/paving company to do any additional work you want done around the pool
