I bought a trailer in March 2021 - we used it twice in the year. In the August of 2022 we noticed a large amount of RUST in various spots. We went back to the company that sold us the trailer - Riek's trailer in East London. He contacted Karet to say that it was out of warranty and that they could do nothing to help. Rieks repaired the trailer at their no cost with no help from Karet. Only for us to notice that the trailer is more rusted than before. Again Rieks tried to help and approached Karet asking for help - only to be told that the after sales guys have tried but because the trailer was bought in 2021 and living at the coast they cannot do anything. So after less that 5 trips with the trailer we have had to s**** it. Very poor service from Karet (pretty much saying thatvthey cannot do anything to help) and a poor quality product. I will not be buying any Karet or Campmaster products in the future.

I bought a Camp Master in April 2024, 4 months later the top on the trailer lid paint started coming off after just washing the trailer. Please can someone from Makro or camp master contact me to get this fixed. Person from Karet phoned me on 05 08 2024 and told me that they will replace the lid, to date no feedback on this

I purchased a CampMaster Wilderness 100 trailer (manufactured by Karet) in November 2023. We took the trailer on holiday to Namibia. The trailer quickly started giving problems - first the jockey wheel kept coming lose and dragging on the floor, to the point that we had to tie it up with rope every time we drove. Next the back hinge on the trailer roof started to tear loose (note that the gravel roads at this point were in excellent condition). Things culminated when the hinge completely tore loose causing the roof to pop up and the tailgate to fall off. After the tailgate had fallen off, the trailer lost all structural integrity and joints started coming loose in multiple places. To put the cherry on top the spare wheel also tore off the undercarriage, and when we tried to secure it to the roof-rack, the roof-rack itself bent. We have been trying unsuccessfully to get Karet to honor the trailer warranty for over a month now. They initially refused the warranty without even looking at the trailer (only reviewing a video). The reasons given for refusing the warranty were that (a) we overloaded the trailer and (b) we drove on gravel roads. I sent them photos showing that there was nothing on the roof-rack before we had to put the spare wheel on it. I also question how they can sell a "wilderness" trailer if driving on a gravel road is considered a breach of warranty?

I was assisted by Tricia from Karet. She went out of her way to assist me with a problem that developed on my trailer. I have not received such good service from s South African company in a long time as I did from Tricia at Karet trailers

Inferior products/service at Makro cape gate Bought Karet Town and Country 300 Camp master trailer on Third February from Makro Cape Gate in Brackenfell. On Friday eleventh February wanted to pack the trailer for camping the weekend but when I moved the empty trailer to the right the jockey wheel collapsed to the left at a forty five degree angle under the chassis because the chassis twisted due to inferior material used during manufacture. I immediately took the trailer back to Makro demonstrated the problem to Kiba the salesman whom sold it to me whom in turn phoned his managers. I spoke with his manager explained the problem and told him I do not want the trailer because of the manufacturing defect and insisted on a refund. The manager told me because I had already registered the trailer on my name he had to contact the supplier which he would do on Monday fourteen February first thing and get back to me immediately. Monday came and went no phone call from Makro. I told the salesman that makro forced customers to operate an unregistered and unlicensed trailer on a public road Makro accepts payment but does not provide a temporary permit required by law to operate the trailer on a public road from the point of sale to residence. Further and because of this failure I had to register and license the vehicle the next day before I could legally use the trailer on a public road. Once again another bad encounter with Makro.

I had very poor service from this company. I had to re-spray my Karet trailer and contacted them for stickers. My contact person was Sonia. It took a few tel. calls to get it sorted out as she was not able to receive e mails. I sent her the photo of a trailer with the required stickers. I was patient because of the covid situation. Eventually I was sent a whatsapp invoice of R603 and told to get hold of a courier. She did suggest Papercut and they charged me R195 to send with Courier Guy. The parcel was about 200mm x 100mm. The parcel arrived and I was surprised to find very ugly different stickers to the ones I requested. I phoned Sonia and she said she thinks she did tell me that's all they've got except special stickers only for Makro. I said I can't use them they are ugly and unsuitable. She also offered to let me know where the stickers were meant to go on the trailer which she once again did not do. I sent her a whatssapp to say I will be returning the stickers to them for a reimbur*****t. She read the message and didn't reply. I meanwhile had the right stickers made at Compusign for R250 a set. I sent the stickers back to Karet Trailers through Courier Guy once again. Same parcel for R50. They received it in Bothaville on the 23rd July'20 and Ané from Karet Trailers signed for it according to Courier Guy. I then sent a whattsapp to Sonia again to find out what is going on. She then blocked me on whattsapp without answering. I really felt this was the last straw. Karet Trailers has really been a very unpleasant company to deal with and now they have no intention of reimbursing me. My patience has now run out and I am sorry I have to advertise Karet Trailers on my trailer. They don't deserve to be advertised.

I am absolutely shocked with the quality of your trailers! I bought my trailer in March 2019, I got the trailer back from Makro today. This trailer was send back to sort out rust twice within 11 months! in total I had the trailer for 8 months! Rust all over, twice you had an opportunity to sort it out. Twice you had the trailer without sorting it out. Now Makro's manager is trying to convince me that it is surface rust, absolutely ridiculous, but taking in consideration that the trailer was send back twice, I assume this is just the quality of your trailers! I will be lodging a formal complaint with the consumer protector as this is not acceptable!
