Rude manager, unprofessional and obviously inexperienced and unaware of her duties. No service and terrible food. And after being injured by a umbrella that was not secured, I would say no safety regulations. And the manager had the nerve to tell me it was not their responsibility. I would recommend steering clear of the place.

Our constant talk about Canaloni lead us to La Romantica on Meerendal estate again. If we go to a pasta restaurant, we go there to eat something that is different and not a usual item made at home. What a dissapointment!!! Yes, they changed their menu. No more baked pasta dishes. Frankly, what is left are all dishes we make at home - so of no interest to us. Even their burgers are like that of anyone else's. Why drive all the way there ? Paying high prices, eating what we eat at home - not again. I dont mind waiting for my food a little longer, but the reason we eat out is we want to order something a bit more special. You have lost us for good. Lovely venue, but your menu is not suited for the venue any more. Very average menu... bye bye for us. Wont see us again.

Our constant talk about Canaloni lead us to La Romantica on Meerendal estate again. If we go to a pasta restaurant, we go there to eat something that is different and not a usual item made at home. What a dissapointment!!! Yes, they changed their menu. No more baked pasta dishes. Frankly, what is left are all dishes we make at home - so of no interest to us. Had a surprise birthday lunch at La Romantica Meerendal wine farm. Never again. Steak was dried out like it had been sitting out for a while or maybe just re-heated before it came to our table. My daughter's pasta was flavourless & emptying half the bottle of pepper on it didn't help. The best part was the chips that came with my son's burger. Had to pop in at Spur for a meal on our way home. Thanks Meerendal but never again, you definately did not live up to the hype!

<p>Made a call to order take-away sushi and spoke to some guy who was dismissive and at one stage laughed during the order . On arrival to collect was told by the waitress on duty that the order hadn't been processed and they can make it there. I asked to speak to the person answering the phone, not a soul in sight. Asked to speak to the manager and the manager was arguably the most obnoxious rude human Ive ever met. He suggested there was nothing he could do and asked me in a saracastic manner what I suggest he should do. I asked him if there was any point in leaving my number and he said probably not and laughed. No jokes. </p>

<p>Walking into La Romantica on a Saturday night, we were very suprised at the few people inside on a night where live intertainment and T-Bone special's should have made this restaurant buzz, but we didn't let this deter us.<br /><br />We asked for a fireplace seat and were shown into the back smoking area of the restaurant, where we can only assume a new Bar Manager had recently been placed in charge, as he was to look after that night. <br /><br />Things started to go wrong when the Bar Manager came to take our drinks orders:<br /><br />My partner ordered 1 x Captain Morgan Dark Rum with a mix and he got 1 x Vodka and mix. <br />I ordered 1 x glass of house red wine and got 1 x glass of house white wine.<br /><br />We ordered our food the same time we ordered our drinks and 1 hour later, with no follow-up from the Bar Manager, we asked him how much longer we were expected to wait for 2 x 500g T-Bone steaks and some fries. His response took everything for me NOT to walk out of your restaurant:<br /><br />His response was "I'm so sorry. The two Chefs haven't even placed your order through yet. We have a very large function. A table of 20 people. We are struggling with their food and once theirs is complete, we will only start with yours. It will take another 30 minutes."<br /><br />My response was "You really haven't put 2 steak orders in, 1 hour, since we've been waiting because you've got a "big table of 20"?"<br /><br />His response was "Yes. It's a big table. Sorry. You will have to wait."<br /><br />My response was "Does your Restaurant Manager know we have been waiting 1 hour and now have to wait another 30 mintues?"<br /><br />His response was "Yes." and turned and left.<br /><br />Your restaurant holds a capacity of 140pax, so please explain to me how your kitchen was drowning under a capacity of ONLY 20pax?!?!<br /><br />1 hour and 30 minutes to wait for 2 steaks that I could have done on the stove at home. And if it wasn't enough that we already felt like rejects in the back of your restaurant, we had to beg the Bar Manager to find wood to look after the fire he had placed us next to on request.<br /><br />What happened to tentative staff? What happened to making your customer feel VIP? What happened to the restaurant outside Somerset Mall that use to have the masses flocking?!?<br /><br />You really need to do something because waiting for a Bleue steak for 1 hour and 30 minutes and getting a medium rare steak as a response, is NOT perfection within the Restaurant Industry.</p>

Our group of friends have been going to THIS specific La Romantica restaurant - at the Somerset Mall - near Rola Motors - for the past 9 years <br> - at LEAST once a year - at the same time of the year .<br> UNTIL this year. Just about everything was and went wrong. No Pasta. No desert. <br> We all got some food poisoning - my wife was 3 days in bed. <br> The worst was , that I personally reported the incident to the restaurant , left them my BCard, wrote them an email a couple of days later - and still no phone call or response - Terribly poor customer service <br>

On Sunday 17th May i ate at La Romantica, a restaurant where i have had many great meals and good service. With the steak I ordered I asked for a salad, but requested if i could get a small portion of Caprese instead of the Greek salad. i was told i have ot pay for a full extra salad if i wanted that. I explained that all I actually wanted was some tomato instead of the Feta. This resulted in the involvement of the waiter and the manager and the unseen kitchen manager. Eventually i received some tomato with some chees that had been hacked off. The food was good and I received what I asked for. My question is why must the staff be unfriendly because I have what is a small request and need to involve so many people. I understand restaurant costing etc, but I did not ask for more than a small portion. If it is too much trouble for you to meet simple requests, then maybe it is tme for me to move on to other restarants that go out of their way for clients!
