We have been complaining for over a year now regarding a "restaurant" with a restaurant liquor license, whom are causing peace disturbance. No results on all complaints. The problem is a never ending story. A case at saps was lodged in March 2025, to date no difference. Liquor board was notified with over 40 emails, still the problem occurs. Saps also request 5times tonight to ask the business to turn down their bass. We need something to be done to sort this matter.

Bought Savannah 500ml 12 pack for R260 and it doesn't have an expiry date and smells like rotten meat. Was told I have already drank the other stuff

Good day GLB no: 7000013656 I've applied for pub and restaurants liquor license in 2021 January my application was declined because my premises are near 2 worship places and the required distance by the liquor board is 500m radius, in the inspection report the inspector he wrote or stated that both churches are 400m are within the required distance and I was never alerted when the inspector came to do the measurements of the distance I was surprised when I saw it in the report. I did my own investigation to check the distance between my premises and the two churches they've mentioned using Google map and the results were not the same as written in the report, I wrote and send several emails to the liquor board highlighting that there has been an error asking for the review of my application, I even attached the screenshots of Google maps showing the correct distance of 650m and 500m and that they can also double check themselves because they do have my residential address but nothing was done the outcome was still the same which did not make sense to me, I also highlighted that the error was done by the inspector who wrote incorrect information he must fix the report they did not want to hear that, now I'm told that the liquor board cannot review its own decision I must take the matter to the higher court to challenge decision of the board, I was retrenched in 2020 when I decided to take the little that I got from my employer to start the business I build the structure that is now standing because I hoped that by this time the business will be up and running, I don't have money to take this matter to court I can't even provide for my family another thing that is not making sense to me I'm very far from the those churches but they are liquor outlets that are very close to those churches but they are operating. Something is not right with their processes I've observed and seen people who recently got their licenses approved who are near churches I hate to say it but I think bribe was made for their things to go smoothly. I really hope this review will help me for them to really look at this matter because I even let them know that some of the board members did let me know that the board usually use their discretion if the distance is not that bad they usually don't entertain it when it's less than 350m radius this is the information I got from the liquor board members when I went to their JHB offices, I believe there's a third hand on refusing my application. We applied for a restuarant liquor license in July 2020.We've been struggling for the last 2 years to get our liquor license approved. We are using an external agent. The inspection was done in November 2020, all paperwork were sent through. My Saps clearance was lost 3 times. No communication from them to our agent. How long does it take for approval? Did anyone else had the same experience?

Renewals were done until 7 days of date of original.issue. Now if you are one day after issue date.. 50% penalty. The answer was “take us to court if you don’t like it”. Tried to phone… voice box is full. They close at 2pm. They only work 3 days… you wait for hours and hours and hours. It is incompetence at the highest! We couldn’t sell alcohol with all the COVID-19 bans yet we pay full Licence fees as well as penalties. One hotel owner’s Licence expired on a Sunday. He came here the Monday and had to pay 50% penalty. A disgrace . When you are honest you pay! Why don't they panalise all the places that operate without licenses???
