The food here is great! The staff members are very friendly and always welcoming. The outside area is beautiful and the atmosphere is great. The cat is so cute and friendly! I specifically love their milkshakes.

On my way to Mikes Kitchen in Parktown on Sunday, my bag was stolen from my car. I arrived in great distress. In spite of the restaurant being at full capacity, the manager and staff took time to support me, make calls for me and help me out. They stepped in as best friends would and managed not only my distress, but my experience at their restaurant. The food and the service are consistently excellent but this went beyond the lines of duty and I am grateful to them.

I called Mike Kitchen this afternoon and a man by the name of Hendrick answered the phone. I informed that Malva pudding hasn’t been on the Uber East menu since January and that I had to phone the restaurant a few weeks back to inform them of this issue. I further told him how the manager on that day suggested I should place an order for a Malva Pudding by ordering a milkshake and making a note that it was for Malva pudding. Thereafter Hendricks and I then agreed that I should place my order in the same manner and add my name next to the note. Uber East eventually delivered the order however it was a milkshake and not Malva Pudding as per our conversation. I was utterly disappointed and I then phoned Hendricks and asked him what went wrong. Instead of apologizing he said I was being rude. I told him that I’m angry but I have not used one rude word on him and that he should at least apologize. He subsequently hung up on me. Indeed I’m angry but I did not use one word to belittle him hence he couldn’t point out one word which was belittling. If Hendricks hates being held accountable for his actions then he is in the wrong profession and accordingly he should not be handling customers queries. His actions towards me were rude, condescending and repulsive. Had I been a White male or female calling this Hendricks guy out then his response would have been different and he would not have hung up on me, but how dare a Black female call him out?!!!

This is my 2nd review on them. First time I gave them a 5 star. Today the meals were bland....they try to serve well. Let's leave it at that. I won't be visiting this branch again. Took a take away....my puppies will enjoy it.

Mike's Kitchen Parktown has excellent service, the food was exceptional. Every thing was absolutely superb, five stars. Unfortunately because of the lack of ablution facilities that are wheelchair friendly I can only give one star. We were there for a lunch on the 20th of November for a in person celebration of the Let's do Lunch & Chat platform which is a feminocentric page dedicated to sharing motivational and inspirational lessons learned. The day was nothing short of spectacular. However, one of the beautiful ladies is in a wheelchair. There is a ramp for accessibility, however there is no ablution facility which is wheelchair friendly. She unfortunately had to leave early and hed to the nearest Mc Donald's. Bearing in mind that Mike's Kitchen Parktown, is a heritage building, we understand why nothing has been done to date. We however make a plea to the building manager, owner, manager and all other stakeholders to come together to create a solution that would enable all people regardless, of their physical abilities to enjoy the wonderful food, space and service provided by Mike's Kitchen Parktown.
