Exceptional Patient Experience and Quality Care: Where do I even begin thanking the hospital that took such incredible care of my baby? I write this with tears in my eyes and a heart full of gratitude. God has paved a path in my career where I have met people I now call family. It took just one call on Wednesday morning, the 28th of January, for my baby’s hospital stay to become possible and for that, I will be forever grateful. From the moment I walked into the hospital, I felt the true spirit of ubuntu. I felt the love and compassion of every individual, not only as an ex-employee, but as a mother. My family felt that same love not just as visitors, but as family members of the patient. As Nelson Mandela said, “What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived, but the difference we have made to the lives of others.” The team at Nelson Mandela Children’s Hospital makes that difference daily. This hospital truly stands for Tata Madiba’s vision and mission, and I am a living testament to that. Thank you to the entire hospital team, from the bottom of my heart.

Dear Sir/Madam I trust that all is well, I kindly request assistance from you. You have an out patient . There's allegations from his mother that the hospital and the psychologist has handed her letters to open cases against me to get me arrested this allegations has been going on since last year February 2025. I know the protocol, procedures and ethics of patient confidentiality, I would like to have advice why if the hospital and psychologist have opened cases against me why are letters given to a parent to play God over my life, where as the institute had to take the initiative and get law enforcement in and get me arrested a year ago. This is an ongoing story how Nelson Mandela Hospital and their Psychologist handed letters to get me arrested. Can you please be so kind and clarify the situation to me. Thanking you in advance Abida Duarte 0717757585

My 5 year old daughter was booked in for dental surgery and it was an absolute wonderful experience and here's why; We arrived at 6 am and was attended to immediately. There were no delays just a first come first serve basis. The Dr that carried out the surgery was such a sweetheart. She reassured that my baby is in good hands. The hospital is very beautiful puts the minds of the little ones at ease. My daughter was very nervous and scared but later eased up at the play room. The day wards are super clean. I got the opportunity to take her into theater only left once she was under anesthesia. It really did feel like home away from home not once was I separated from my daughter. They made sure to bring her food after the procedure which was thoughtful considering the fact that she hadn't ate in hours. Oh man I could go on n on. Should you get a referral do not be in doubt. These doctors really have a passion for what they do. #BlackFriday

My niece is suffering from Imperforate **** Condition. My sister was advised in July that she will be contacted regarding the operation date. She went to the hospital twice this week where she met Jason, who rudely refuses to assist her. She was told to wash disposable pouches and reuse them. Is this not gunning for an infection on the infant? Why should we wait till Wednesday to get assistance from doctors as well as the pouches? May we urgently get feedback, the child was transferred in April already for medical assistance. Or do we need to take this up with Health authorities?

A while ago , almost a month to be exact I made an enquiry regarding my then 22 month old daughter for assessment/assistance at your facility. I was advised that you are a tertiary hospital and only accept patients who have been referred,ie RMMCH , Chris Hani Baragwanath ect. I did go to my local clinic to get a referral to RMMCH , when i got there NO ASSESSMENT was done on /to my child. The speech/audio the****** said that they could not see/assess my daughter as they were short staffed and the first available date would be in January 2021. Needless to say, the doctor had written me a referral letter to your facility, which I then emailed to Candise along with the referral I received from the clinic (2 referrals sent to Candise) Candise did not acknowledge receipt of my letters, after 4 days when I made a second enquiry did she acknowledge receiving my letter, I mentioned to her that I had called her twice with no response and she said that she was on leave. Around the 7th/8th October 2020 I made contact again with Candise asking the status of my daughters' assessment. She advised me yet again that a specialist will contact me for an assessment/with a date. Prior to that , I visited your facebook page, asking / requesting the same information, yet again NO REPLY/RESPONSE. Again I had sent Candise an email asking for assistance and even feedback, (baring in mind that she, Candise never once emailed, called me informing me as to the status of this assessment) I've been continuously contacting, emailing and waiting for feedback. I also sent an email to ayabulela.poro@nmch.org.za as well as Nomthi@nmcf.co.za , yet again NO RESPONSE/REPLY... It wasn't until yesterday when i again emailed Candise doing yet another follow up, did she "copy and paste" and not forward and email from Mogau.Lamola@nmch.org.za , stating that would would be able only to do the audio therapy and thereafter send me back to RMMCH. Candise also stated that I need to get RMMCH to contact you guys regarding the direct referral form I received from them ( I was not sure whether or not she intended for me to make the journey to them ,or call or send an email). So once again I humbly ask , as an unemployed single coloured mother of 2, is/ can anyone please assist me with audio and speech therapy or even an assessment for my daughter. You have no idea how frustrating it is being sent from pillar to post,my daughter cannot hear at all , she continuously holds and rubs her ears as if there is a blockage in them. All milestones at her age have been reached except speech , like giving basic commands,ie NO, STOP, OUT, kids her age should be a least saying those if not more words. Please consider this email correspondence as highly important and also take into consideration that there is a 23 month old little girl that needs urgent assistance. I trust this email finds you well. Best Regards Lisa Samuels 072 7788 199
