I write this review after much thought. I do not enjoy complaining about food or service. We booked a table for 8 at Florida Road Branch to Celebrate our 50th Wedding Anniversary on Valentine’s Day. Our starters arrived nicely prepared but from then on as the restaurant got busier the service slipped. Our 8 meals all arrived at different times….not one or two minutes apart but about 10 to 15 minutes apart. The final blow was when everyone had finished eating my meal still had not arrived….the waitron then came and asked what I had ordered…….I just ordered the 4 cheese penne baked pasta…..well that arrived about 20 minutes later….it was not baked had no gorgonzola or any other strong cheese, it was just a powdery runny sauce over some penne. One mouthful and I wasn’t eating it. I did complain to the waitron but all he could say was he was very sorry but the restaurant was too busy. Having said this the other dinners were tasty except for the wrong pasta !The Manager was also running around but only came to our table right in the beginning and not again. We didn’t want to make a scene so paid and left …………not a small bill either, but sadly will not be visiting again

From the moment you walk up the stairs to Nonnas Italian food you're greeted with a traditional Buona Sera , which warmed my HEART immediately! Taken to our seats and offered water and a drink menu. Then the food!!!!! Absolutely Amazing . We shared 4 Antipasto for entrees. Delicious calamari , Capressio , croquettes and chorizo .The our mains , my mother thoroughly enjoyed her risotto and i was over the moon WITH my pizzoccheri Dessert that followed were equally as good. Definitely be going back to this wonderful place☺

I called in the order. The waiter was sharp, knew my order when arriving and it was my first time there. They don't take American Express cards. They are conveniently located. Vibe looks good and the decor was impressive. The restaurant itself was clean and neat with a large capacity and they seem very popular. They are halaal. I liked that I was asked if I needed takeaway cutlery unlike most that just supply you plastic and you end up throwing it away. I liked the paper bag. I love that they give you a small containers with chilli, Parmesan and garlic. I feel 20% too pricey in my opinion. The meal was not bad. I feel the pasta was oily but flavouring was good. There is a large staff compliment and the menu is fully Italian. I do suggest you try it out. 1

Nonna's sandton city. It was a highly unpleasant experience. Arrived. At 17:30 only to be told they only start serving after 18:00. However their website or google search made no mention of this and for all intents and purposes showed as open. Which was already a collosal waste of time for sub par food. We only intended waiting as they are one of very few halaal restaurants that serve pasta in sandton. I honestly wouldn't recommend or go back as the owner or managers were so rude as well while we waited. Just atrocious.

We as a family decided to go out this evening and Nonna's was our 1st choice much to our dismay ...we waited for our food for over an hour and a half ..almost everything that we ordered was terrible...the rib-eye steak was overcooked and served with no sides...the alfredo was so al dente seemed like it was thrown into boiling water and taken out....the pizza was so crispy and the edges so hard ...when we decided to leave we asked for the manager and only after 5 times of asking he appeared ...Ahmed was his name and all he did was complain of how full the restaurant was, which was something that they never expected this evening...he apologized so meekly about our concerns and left our table with no recourse We left the restuarant at 9:40pm which at this time was still so busy and all the staff were present which I don't seem to understand as curfew is at 10:00pm...when we left sandton city all the restaurants were closed besides Nonna's ....I do understand that as a business especially in the hospitality industry you need to recover cost but at what cost to your employees and your customers ...

Most horrible service a customer could experience from the start. First waiting in the line the manager rather serves the customer behind me yet I was waiting for almost 10 minutes then he uses the excuse saying he didn't know who was first. After that we waited till 4:50pm for our food and not even our starters arrived yet we started waiting from 3:30pm. Out of frustration I told the waiter to rather leave my food as I would eat else where and will pay for the drinks I ordered and then again had to wait another half an hour for feed back till I had to walk to the counter and get treated as if I'm at fault the food was delayed then to also while waiting for the manager to communicate with me another customer starts complaining as well saying they had to wait an hour for their food just to receive burnt food and the 1 pasta had hair tangled in it but seemed like the manager wasn't really bothered but I guess whats how they treat their customers
