The service is good when you still purchasing with them but the tune drastically changes to worse when you return a malfunctioning product purchased. They make sure that the blame sits with the customer and not the product they sold you. I lust also not forget to mention the arroganency of the sales person. The lights I bought were sold to me with warranty but upon returning them I was told a different story and the warranty was revocked. I WILL BE DAMNED TO SHOP WITH THEM AGAIN.

I made a purchase from Northside Electrical (Redhill). I asked for a CBI Distribution Box. The salesperson did his thing, I paid and left. The electrician fitted the stuff, and the DB looked absolutely flimsy. When I investigated further, even though I asked for CBI, the salesperson gave me an inferior no name brand box. I’m disgusted with the service. The whole reason for changing my existing box was that I wanted quality. I paid the electrician R 3,000 to do the swap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you’ll didn’t have CBI – you’ll should have told me, and I would have bought from a different supplier. I’m disgusted with the quality of product you’ll supp****.

This is the Ballito branch, if pathetic was a store, this would be it, it is the 3rd time I walked in and walked out after 15minutes of not being attended to, there's no host, who can explain the variety of items on display, the staff behind the counter look at their computers as if they are writing programs for NASA space exploration, and have no decency to acknowledge walk in customers, clearly this company is making enough money and need not perform basic sales processes, besides the many staff smoking directly outside the entrance to the store deep in conversation between themselves, the management of this store is pathetic to say the least, I went to AC DC in Ballito as I reside in the area, and received excellent service, Northside can keep advertising on ECR but reality is absolute incompetence and pathetic disrespect for walk in customers, maybe their contractors come first, which ever way, I would NEVER recommend nor EVER shop there ever again, keep at it Northisde, all the best!

I bought a gel battery to replace my alarm battery in January 2023, so that I would be prepared for load shedding. When the load shedding started a few weeks ago, the NEW GEL battery didn't last the 2 hours . It went completely off. The company says that due to load shedding, the battery warranty is not valid. It didn't even last 6 months.

On the 21st September 2022, I purchased nine (9) LED Poiled nano floodlights (2x50W, 7x30W) from Northside Electrical Ballito branch. They were installed by a professional electrician during October 2022. Around December or January 2023, I noticed that a 50W floodlight had moist inside the glass and the brightness had since decreased. That came as a shock to me as I understood that I had purchased a quality product from a reputable supplier. I was however not bothered much as the floodlights carried a 2 year warranty. On the 9th June 2023, I returned (Ballito branch) the moist affected light together with a 30W floodlight that had also burnt during the period. At the store, I was informed that both light's warranty had expired to which I argued that I've had the lights for less than 1 year from the date of purchase. This issue was then resolved and the 30W light was exchanged. The problem started when the staff refused to exchange the moist affected 50W light citing possible installation flaws. The argument led to the team (Sizwe) escalating the complaint to the manufacturer Poiled Lighting at about 16h00. The consultant at Poiled was so rude and shouting, claiming that the installation was not done properly and water may have accessed the light through the cable. I told him to refrain from addressing the customer in such an unprofessional manner. I told him that the floodlight cable was fitted inside the protective round box, and there is no way water would have accessed the light through the cable. He continued to be disrespectful and dropped the call on my ear. This happened in the presence of the Northside team. The Northside team had seen that the lights were fitted in the round box, however they failed to intervene and protect me as their customer from the abusive version of the supplier. After call, the Northside team disputed and *******ed the version of the supplier however, they told me that there is nothing that they can do to assist me, and gave me back the damaged light. I told them that they run a risk of this matter being escalated to Hellopeter, to which they were not bothered. Both Northside and Poiled Lighting has dismally and deliberately failed to act in line with their customer service values. They have undermined the very basis of customers service, in the process enfringe on my rights to be treated with respect and dignity.

I bought 12 light bulbs. Someone gave me light bulbs later that day, so I took the lightbulbs back. They charged a 30% handling fee off my refund! I asked to speak the the main branch manager as I felt this company policy is very unfair. They said he'd phone me the next day. 3 months later, I'm still waiting.
