I am extremely disappointed and frustrated with the service I received at Nuri Sushi in town. I placed an order for a Crunch 13-piece sushi and calamari with fries and waited about 40 minutes at the restaurant for my food. When my order was finally given to me, I took an Uber home immediately. When I arrived home and checked the order, I realized that the Crunch 13-piece sushi was missing. Only the calamari was in the package. I then called the restaurant to explain the situation. To my shock, the lady who answered the phone laughed at me while I was explaining that my order was wrong. I found this extremely disrespectful and unprofessional. I asked to speak to a manager and was told to send proof on WhatsApp, which I did. After sending the proof, they acknowledged that they had made a mistake. The manager then told me that they would send a driver to deliver the correct order and asked for my address, which I sent. However, shortly afterwards I received another call saying they could not deliver the food because my address was “too far.” I was then told that I must come back to the restaurant to fetch the food myself, even though the mistake was made by them. To make matters worse, the head chef then spoke to me on the phone, repeated the same thing, and eventually hung up on me while I was trying to explain the situation. I still have not received my correct order or any proper resolution. I have been trying to call the restaurant repeatedly, but my calls are now being ignored and no one is willing to assist me. This is completely unacceptable. I already paid for an Uber to get home after waiting 40 minutes at the restaurant. The mistake was made by the restaurant, yet I am expected to spend more money on another Uber to collect the correct order. On top of that, I was laughed at, hung up on, and now my calls are being ignored. This experience has been extremely frustrating and disappointing. The lack of accountability, poor customer service, and disrespect shown to a paying customer is unacceptable. I hope management takes this complaint seriously and addresses how customers are treated, because this level of service is shocking.

On 27 February 2026 at around 18:00, I sent a message to the Nuri Sushi N1 City WhatsApp line to ask whether they accept orders via WhatsApp. My message was read but completely ignored. About 10 minutes later I sent another message simply asking if they could at least confirm whether they take WhatsApp orders or not. Again, the message was read and ignored. I then tried calling the restaurant three times, but nobody answered the phone. Since I still wanted to place an order, I decided to drive to the restaurant. I arrived and placed my order at 18:36 for a G&M platter and chowmein, and I was told the food would be ready in about 45 minutes. I waited in my car for roughly 30 minutes before returning to the restaurant at around 19:10. When I went inside, I noticed something very frustrating: customers who arrived after me and were sitting at tables were already being served their food, while my takeaway order was nowhere in sight. I continued waiting, expecting that my order would be next. However, another 30 minutes passed, and still more sit-down customers who arrived after me were being served their meals. This was particularly frustrating because we were meant to break our fast at 19:30, and I had placed my order well in advance. I eventually received my food at 20:29, which is almost two hours after placing the order, despite being told it would take 45 minutes. While standing there waiting, I observed absolutely no sense of urgency from the staff or the manager. The phones were ringing constantly, yet nobody bothered answering them — which explains why my earlier calls went unanswered. The overall impression was that takeaway customers are treated as a low priority, while dine-in customers are served first regardless of who ordered earlier. This experience was extremely disappointing and frustrating. A simple update, some communication, or even honesty about the waiting time would have made a big difference. Instead, customers are left waiting with no information and no urgency from the staff. I hope management takes this seriously, because this level of service is unacceptable.

I ordered from Nuri Sushi N1 City via Uber Eats, it took them 2-3 Hours to prepare the food, only to cancel at the very end. This is not the first time it has happened. The customer service/management of this store is truly pathetic.

Referring to N1 City Branch. Placed my order around 6pm and got my food just before 8pm. No sorry. No nothing. Staff don’t bother to acknowledge you when asking for help. Never ever going back. Mind you, this has been the experience every single time I’ve been there. But today was my Last.

If Only I could give negative stars, I would! This must be the service level they think people in the Ottery area views as standard!!! The woman who manages the place is more prone to helping those who buddy up to her in some weird mean girl type of high school drama of the nineties!! My order which was confirmed for 50 minutes took over 2 hours!!!!! TWO HOURS!!! People who ordered AFTER me received their food, while sitting there like an idiot!!!! I WILL NEVER GO BACK!!! AND I HOPE THE BUSINESS CLOSES DOWN!!!!! THIS place is run by absolutely horrible people and that manager needs to grow up and realise she is well mature in age to be acting like she is mid puberty!!!!! Would rather drive to a place further away than waste my energy on this store!!!! of and Sushi was mid tier at best in fact its slightly below that even!!!!

Dear Nuri Sushi Ottery "Customer Care", I request that a representative from your Customer Care Department contact me urgently regarding a serious issue I experienced with Nuri Sushi (Ottery) yesterday. My order — consisting of 23 pieces of sushi and calamari — took nearly two hours to be delivered. When I contacted the restaurant to enquire about the delay, I was informed that the order was “on its way out of the kitchen,” which was evidently not true. A two-hour delay for prepared food is entirely unacceptable, and I require a formal response from Nuri Management. I informed the store manager, Bonita, that the order must not be sent as I intended to cancel it. Despite this, the delivery driver arrived at my residence. I refused to accept the order. In addition to being an unacceptable service failure, I must highlight the potential food safety risks involved. I am concerned about how long the food was prepared and left standing before dispatch. Furthermore, upon reviewing public complaints on HelloPeter, it appears that similar delays are a recurring issue with this particular store. I will NOT recommend anyone order or visit your store as the service is shocking to say the least. Should I not receive a response from your Customer Care Centre, I will escalate the matter to the media, social media platforms, and the Office of Consumer Protection.
