Won't experience I ever received at the PDSA in Soweto. My dog was sick and the mobile clinic said they will admit him. They took R500 admission fee but did not even admit him and he died. They then blamed load shedding for not giving us a call to inform us and also that there was no doctors on site to assist. Worst hospital for animals they do not provide proper treatment and care for emergency cases. I am very unhappy and I hope their neglect does not cost the lives of more animals. They need to be investigated in terms of the hours the doctors are there, the service the mobile clinics provide and their source of communication.

My 14 year old cat Joey has been treated at PDSA Bridgetown for the past 13 years (he was one year old when he was hit by a car and had a fractured jaw), and PDSA has saved his life countless times since then. The staff love animals and do their best, which I appreciate so much because I cannot afford a private vet and would have lost my fur baby a long time ago if not for them. All PDSA staff are incredible and fantastic, and do so much good under difficult circumstances including have to deal with extremely rude people. I especially want to thank Dr. Vera. Several years ago Joey developed an rodent ulcer on his lips that Animal Welfare was not able to treat (and they wanted to euthanise him), but she was able to treat him to the extent that he has a happy healthy life while following her prescribed treatment. Thank you PDSA. You are the best!

PDSA Bridgetown,Cape Town Excellent service and extremely caring personnel towards all animals. Our cat was extremely sick and we took him to an expensive vet..They were more interested in what you are willing to pay than seeing to the health of the animal. And after paying nearly R1000 our cat was no better healthwise.A vet suggesting that I "just pop" a tablet into a sick animals throat because we weren't prepared to pay more. Try that on a sick animal .Rather cold shoulder treatment and we had to pay for this ****py service. Then we turned to the PDSA in Bridgetown ,Cape Town,Wow ,!!!! what professional service and care from the receptionist, to the nurses ,to the vets. Our cat was examined ,blood test taken, given a couple of injections and all of this done with efficiency and care. I was blown away by their professionalism and believe me there were many animals the 2 days we attended. I felt ashamed and sad that with the professionalism displayed by all staff, that this PDSA institution is being neglected financially. We had staff who honor their work ethic from the moment you step into this institution ,till when you leave.. Our cat is doing well ,all due to the wonderful staff at PDSA,Bridgetown. Here is an institution I would recommend that we can pour our finances into .It will be worth it,guaranteed, The PDSA is always in need for funding for not only caring for mine or your animal but also for the stray animals which must be fed and taken care of. PLEASE SUPPORT THE PDSA BY DONATING!!!!

my 4 month old pitbull got sick suddenly. my husband and i took him to th PDSA in Bridgetown. there was only 3 people before us. we eventually came to the front, said what we were there for, and PAID. then we waited to be seen to by the clinic staff. people came after us and was seen to before us. when we asked why is the other people going in before us, Arthur George, told us with attitude, No fighting, I will explain now. he then told us that there are 4 clinic rooms, 3 for treatments and 1 for vaccinations. our dog was extremely sick and needed treatment ASAP. he said that the innoculations goes quick thats why they see to that first. we eventually were called into a room, the guy gave our dog 3 injections and said that he is dehydrated and must bring him back the next day. we were in and out quicker than the innoculations... so i dont know WHY they treat the innoculations first instead of the animals who really need immediate attention. The next day, the dog started to pass blood. My husband took the dog back for treatment and the first guy says, the dog has a pierced intestine probably from a bone.... NO XRAYS were done! The next guy comes and says the dog is pushing out red blood cells.... only after to be diagnosed with Parvo virus.... they had him on a drip and sent him home. we went back saturday morning and the line was 5m almost till in the road. my husband waited and waited but unfortunately had to be somewhere. he then brought the dog back home and i took the dog back at 9:30 and the line was still long. i went inside and asked is there no way that i can bring him in to be put ont he drip. i was told unfortunately, i have to wait in the line to be seen to. i took my dog home to continue the glucose water and made him comfortable. i phoned the PDSA and begged them to see to him. they told me that they are already closed. Arthur George came to the phone and i explained everything again to him. i begged him to just see to him and he just said no we cant. i said so my dog must just die? so he said, im gonna have to be rude to you now, but without treatment, your dog will be dead tomorrow. and told me i should have stayed in the line to be seen to. i told him that i have 2 sick kids at home that needed to be seen to as well and all he could say was Well mam, unfortunately we all have other obligations to see to. i was so fuming and disgusted by him at this time that i just told him that his pathetic and hung up.

at 12:26 Kobe took his last breath. i thought the PDSA is there for helping animals.... they just a bunch of heartless people working in order to get paid. No compassion whatsoever!

4 Years ago our dog who was a puppy at the time got into a car accident and had to undergo pelvis surgery and leg operation. Due to the fact that her pelvis was operated on they said that they would spay the dog. We went to them 2 weeks ago and they advised us that the dog can still give birth. If not they would need to operate that we should pay up to R7000 and it was their wrong doings. Now the dog is pregnant and in so much pain now whilst she is in labour and at this moment in time no other spca can help us besides Kenilworth which is expensive as well. The poor dog might die because of their crap
