In June 2023, I bought a 2-in - one stroller at the shop for R3500. Myself and the shop assistant at the till went through the stroller to see if all the parts were there and whether it was working. At this specific point everything seemed well. My baby was due in September as every new parent would know planning is essential when you expect a baby. I kept the slipt and the manual instructions of the stroller. In December 2023, I noticed after taking my newborn from the stroller (which can be used as a car seat too) that the cap of the stroller is damaged. The cap is covered with maroon material so unfortunately at the time of assessing the stroller in June, it would've been impossible to pick up a crack which could possibly be hidden underneath the material. I went to the shop and asked to speak to the manager. There were two managers assisting me. I requested a refund for the stroller as I was dissatisfied with the product and the quality. I got told by the manager that they cannot refund me, as they have a 7 day policy on goods, which means if the product breaks after 7 days they cannot refund. I explained that unfortunately no good parent will buy a stroller 7 days before the arrival of a baby, and neither 7 days thereafter. They indicated that they would need to phone head office as they need to discuss the matter with them. They also took my contact details and mentioned they will phone me back. Two days thereafter I followed up, as I have not heard anything yet. I got told by the manager ont he phone that they will exchange the stroller for another one on the floor (already opened, and tested by customers). They took my maroon pram and exchanged if (without a slip) for the navy one. End of December 2023 I realised that the handle of the pram is squeaky and if was stuck. I could not be extended and therefore I had to bend over to use the stroller. I went to the shop in January and requested from the manager a cash refund as I realised this stroller is unreliable and not trusted. The manager again mentioned that their policy indicates that no cash refund can be given. She indicated that they would have to follow up with head office again as well as with the supplier. I knew at the back of my mind that the supplier is from China, and the product was imported to South Africa. Nevertheless, I demanded that I want a cash refund. The manager supp**** my husband with contact details of a contact person at head office, and she requested that the stroller should be brought back to the shop as they need to assess the problem. This morning my husband got told that the pram has been fixed and is ready for collection. This was not our request initially. We requested a refund as I knew that there is a manufactor default with these strollers. Which upset me even more was that the store are now reselling my broken maroon pram on the floor again, and this after I have been told that they will keep it in storage and sent back to head office. When I read up in the consumers act it specifies clearly what my right as a consumer is. It also stipulates that I have the right to choose whether I want a refund, replacing the good or repair the good, and that the supplier cannot choose on behalf of me. I feel that my rights as a customer was violated. No parent have R3500 lying around. Neither do I feel safe to transport my baby in a repaired stroller which may just cause serious harm to my child. Can anyone advise what I should do, as I feel this company/ shop is not attending to my right as a customer, and neither are they respecting my financial posistion or the safety of my child. I still request a refund, as I would like to buy an alternative stroller for my child.

I Was at this store 26 July around 12h45 and firstly it takes forever to find people to assist as who knows where they are hiding . Eventually after walking up and down the Ailes I managed to find what I was looking for . There are many tills but only one person working one one till . The Q was long and after waiting about 10 min I asked for a manager . A man that was helping a customer fix something he has purchased just glared at me and then ignored me. He then proceeded to say he was the manager and I must just wait and ignored me again . The other customers were all complaining and could not believe how rude he was to me . He only told me that he was the manager after standing even longer in the Q. There were other staff I then saw come to the front, Why could they not assist . When I told him its unacceptable to treat customers like this and whenever I come into this store there is always one person at at a till and a Q, he proceeded to ask me WHY DO I COME BACK THEN . Too say I was shocked was an understatement I asked for his name which obviously he did not give me and I told him I would complain to head office and his reply was DO WHAT YOU WANT . I tried to call head office and it goes to voicemail so I sent an email for someone to contact me ..still waiting ..

Morning, I had an a absolute disgusting experience at your store on Sunday, 31 May 2020. I was sold a defective Item. I came to return it the next day as nobody has responded to me via the whatsapp message I sent. This is a item I needed for work. I was abruptly and rudely told that I will not receive a refund. I was offered a different product. But all the other products that were the same are defective too. I asked why I cant just get a refund and they said it's because of covid safety measures. Which I don't get. If you are willing to take my item back and replace it. Whats the difference between taking it back and refunding me or giving me a credit note of sorts. I am severly upset. This experience has left me in tears. I had to sit down in the store to just breath. Quite a few customers were concerned about what was going on. The disrespect this employee has given me is awful. He refused to contact anyone higher up and refused to give me his full name. Which I asked for numerous times. He ended up walking away from me leaving me in the store alone not returning at all. With no response as to what he is willing to do...after 10 minutes I then went to look for him. I found him and asked politely can I get his full name. He ignored me and walked away telling me I must go away and stop bugging him. I followed him and asked again to just give me his name and I will be on my way. He continuously walked away from me gesturing for me to "voetsek"/go away as I was requesting his details. I ended up having to ask someone else for his name. Which a lady I believe is the Manager gave to me. This manager was the one who called this guy who is apparantly the supervisor to talk to me. My fact is. They offered a exchange. Which there was no product for. If you can offer me an exchange give the refund. I was left in the store. Nobody assisted me in packaging the rack or anything. They left me there not saying a word to me. Another thing that got me is the fact that one of the guys knew that all these items were defective. Yet they still had it in the shelf for sale to the public. Which is not okay. If you know things are defective. Why sell it to a customer. The product is visually defective too. The shelves differ in colour and the shelves do not fit into the holes. They are also to big for the structure itself. This has been the utter most disgusting experience I have had in a shop to date! Absolutely no Customer service what so ever. On the slip it clearly stated that I had to return the item within 14 days to get a refund. The employees name is Seraphin Mbaya he was the supervisor on duty @ your N1 City branch. Regards Jolandie Hagan.

Yesterday, 03-12-2019, I arrived at the N1 value Centre around, 17:45, I parked right in front of the store and saw it was closed already, i was very confused, so i still got out of my vehicle, and walked to the door, by the time i got to the door it was about 17:50, people was out, but the security just kept the door closed and told me they are closed. I said the TRADING HOURS, in big bright red on the door says, Mon to Fri 09:00 - 18:00. He just kept looking the other way, till it was 17:55 and the someone who was dress in normal clothing, presumably the manager of the store handed him the keys saying to five too, so lock the door. Through the window all the girls was cashing up their tills and one still helping 1 or 2 customers. Then i asked what the telephone number was, which she shouted from her till. All i actually wanted to purchase was a black container, which would have taken me all of 2min to get and pay. I come from a retail background, and never have i seen doors been closed before time let alone almost 20min before the time. Where have you heard people not wanting to take every cent they can get. i've never experience any of this at even at Pick n Pay or a Checkers, chasing clients away. Totally crazy!

I was most disapointed with Plastics Depot Goodwood. They do not have any after sale service - if you do not have a cash slip you can forget to get any help with the wrong product that you have purchased, even if it is still in a sealed bag with their price tag on it. Wont be shopping there again.
