They opened a debit order despite the fact that I had told them I wanted to go over the details of the policy before making a decision. Ultimately, they called and convinced me to keep the policy. I deeply regret that decision. I have been trying to cancel the policy for the last 10 hours. I have spoken to several agents who keep telling me they can't cancel and I have to wait for someone to call me back. Nobody ever calls me back. I have left several emails on top of that, and I have still received no assistance. I called my bank. They told me I am not able to cancel a debit order. Dotsure must do it for me. They said my only option is to report Dotsure for *****. It looks as though it's my only option. If you get a policy, keep this in mind. It is well-nigh impossible to get out of that debit order. You don't even have the power to cancel it with your bank. If Dotsure chooses not to respond, that's too bad. You are stuck. No options for cancellation.
I received a call from Dotsure about the Carrot rewards program. I signed up because it sounded great. They told me I would get 20% discounts on every single thing I bought from any petshop. When I went shopping at a major pet store, they told me they'd never heard of any such discounts. I've since learned that you have to earn that discount by climbing tiers. It isn't automatic. The discount was pretty much the only reason I signed up, so I cancelled my membership. They also told me the device that goes with the rewards program could monitor my dog's health and offered GPS tracking. Since I had been **** to already, I Googled to see if that was true. And it appears that it was not. Some people say there is no GPS tracking. I don't know. I paid for the device eight days ago and have heard no word from a courier about its delivery. When I cancelled the Carrot program a day after they took the first payment, they said they would TRY to get me a refund. A few days later, that refund has not been forthcoming. I have pet insurance with Dotsure, and this experience isn't giving me much confidence in their service. I believe Dotsure records all their phonecalls. I wonder if the Consumer Council can get access to those calls.
I moved to the deep south of Cape Town and have to find a new GP. I sat with Discovery's list of GPs calling them for two hours. None of them cover the keycare plus plan. The closest GP I can find in the network is too far away for me to get to. I'm under the impression that medical aids are required by law to provide care a reasonable distance from their home. Discovery is not able to do so and cannot help me find a doctor. I've been bitten by a spider and cannot access any medical care. This is not right.
My experience with Temu: Items said to be deliverable within 10 days. Email tells me they are only deliverable 10 days AFTER some randomly selected day that was not declared. Text message informs me I now have to pay customs duties. Item not delivered on the day promised (one full month after purchase) Received text telling me my order has been delivered when it was not. Am told to contact the courier to find out where the parcel is. Courier does not answer their phone. Next step: I must request a refund, so I have paid customs duties for items I never received. All this for a few jars. What a ****shoot. Never again, Temu.
I "bought" some shoes from them in August of 2025. I only found out later they were not legit. My money is gone. Nothing has arrived. I'm now waiting for First National Bank to decide if they will return my funds. I would very much like to know why South African banks still haven't blacklisted this site.
I bought a garden table and chairs online on the 3rd of October, scheduled for delivery in two to five days. It didn't arrive, so I wrote to ask what had happened. It seemed the order had somehow slipped through the cracks, so they said they would deliver straight away. They said Sunday--not a convenient day for me, but I changed my plans to receive the delivery upon request from the Builder's employee. Sunday morning arrives. They called to tell me the furniture they were intending to deliver was broken, so they suggested an alternative product I didn't like. So they said I'd have to wait for the set to be delivered from Jo'burg. Okay. I will wait. This morning, I log into my account and see the order has been cancelled without a word, and none of the money has been returned to me. Nobody even told me it had been cancelled. It's now 13 days since I made my order. I had been told just yesterday that the delivery would eventually arrive. In that time I could instead have bought something elsewhere. Now I'm short over R1,000. Hmm.
Dischem donated R100,000 to Tears. That's all I need to know. Thank you, Dischem. That money will go a long way.
They're selling live pets as though animals are supermarket produce. I will never shop there again. Some things are unforgivable.
I bought a few clothing items for delivery about three weeks ago, but the app changed my house number, so the courier tried to deliver to my neighbour. The delivery clearly failed, so they did the rational thing: attempted to deliver to my neighbour three times instead of asking me what was up. I learned of these failed deliveries when I received an email from Woolies saying they had the wrong address, would I please update it. I promptly did so, so what did Woolies do? Attempt to deliver to the wrong address a fourth time. I called after they claimed to be at my house, but the people answering the telephones are apparently not able to communicate with the courier. The courier was literally next door, but I couldn't get the delivery because of this communication problem and a lack of communication between the service team and courier. I asked Woolworths to update the address yet again via telephone. They said they would do so and see if the warehouse was willing to try again. I received a text message from Woolies yesterday saying my order would arrive before five, so I dutifully cancelled all my plans and sat at home waiting. They did not arrive, and nor did they inform me the delivery wouldn't come. Finally I received a call from Woolies this morning telling me they would not be delivering the items but would refund me within six days. What a mess. Seriously. I've been doing all my shopping via delivery for seven months and never missed a delivery for any of it. I love Woolworths as much as the next person, but I will definitely not order delivery from them again. You just end up losing days waiting for nothing to arrive.
I've been unable to leave my home as I'm rehabbing a dog alone, so I have to buy everything online. I found Canine&Co out of desperation because all the other online pet stores were too buggy to use. I've used C&C a few times in the last few weeks, and they've been fantastic. I always get deliveries super fast. They almost always have exactly what I want. In the one instance when they didn't, they emailed and gave me an alternative. They're friendly, efficient, and fast. Thank you for helping to make this rehabilitation process possible.
