Seeing that the Post Office wont really bother to respond, I can merely warn others at this point :) We ordered something from Texas using the USPS service, Priority Mail Express International service, which is supposed to be delivered within 3-5 business days - we literally paid R1330 for this delivery. Only to be told we would likely only receive it within 30 days, regardless of the Expedited EMS service involved. Avoid USPS, since that basically just relies on a broken South African postal service
Until Leroy Merlin sorts out their deliveries (perhaps use a real courier instead of this weird Nucleus courier) this is the last time I will be buying anything from them, its been two weeks and nobody can tell me what is happening on my order.
Just a warning to others. This store basically functions as a proxy, so if you order anything from them be prepared to wait for long periods of time. You're better off just ordering directly from something like Aliexpress if you're ordering anything from China online. E.g my aliexpress orders arrived long before any of my "reliable store" orders.
My application has been stuck at the debicheck phase for a week now, lodged multiple support tickets for assistance, not receiving any feedback, perhaps not a good idea to continue with my application if this is the type of assistance I can expect in future.
Vodacom throttles VPN usage from their Openservce Fibre packages, which makes it impossible to use their packages for WFH.
I've been waiting since October 2021 for my FTTH installation - Openserve completed infrastructure early December 2021 in my area. But whenever I open a ticket to query the status of my order, Vodacom merely closes my ticket (a few hours later, as resolved) without actually responding to my questions...
Hellopeter might want to do an audit on this company's hellopeter reviews, it looks a bit suspect, especially in context of my recent experience with this company. 1. They mishandled our possessions. - Dropped fragile bags on the sidewalk like its bags of cement. - Destroyed my office tables (had to replace both my tables) - Had to replace our new box freezer after it arrived due to damages. etc etc. 2. Not willing to take responsibility. Johan was not willing to take responsibility for the damages, in fact, he told us how impossible the damages were, so either we're lying about it, or magically our possessions were damaged by fairies. E.g a brand new box freezer went onto the truck (2 months old), after it arrived it had massive dents and stopped working.
Back in the day, we were one of Mweb's early big black box customers, they used to be one of the best ISP's in the country but seems like that is not the case anymore. Recently we moved to Port Elizabeth - I opted for their 100Mbps FTTH deal, seeing that I trusted the brand. 1. They claim that they delivered my router to the new address, we were 400km away at the time, so currently the router is just missing - nobody can tell me where it is. 2. We relocated to new premises soon after (long story), I've been waiting close to three weeks for the relocation of my Fibre, currently, I have to pay for expensive LTE data as I work remotely. 3. They keep marking tickets as resolved, I was told this is their procedure even though nothing is resolved yet, the mark the communication as resolved. 4. To put the cherry on the cake, yesterday they phoned me, I've got a debilitating speech impediment, which I tried to explain to the agent from Mweb, which they seem to be intolerant about. Expected me to verify hundreds of details after the phone after I explained my situation and after I started struggeling to speak, the lady kept on asking me if I am still on the line. They would have emailed me back instead, but its almost been 24 hours, no communication. 5. Now I am trying to cancel my contract since I am not receiving any help, no service while being discriminated against due to my speech impediment, now I am expected to pay cancellation fees, R2300 for installation, R575 for setup and R519 for the router I didn't receive. Note that this was an existing FTTH line which the installer basically just had to switch on, for R2300??? Surely all of this is unacceptable? I am forced to move to another ISP just to get my connectivity sorted out, this will likely happen early next week, why's Mweb unable to assist me?
I recently signed a 20GB Data Price Plan Top Up contract, R229 per month. When I logged into the vodacom website, I noticed a bill for 366.4, but only received 12GB (received the modem on the 13th of June). Looking at the bill, it seams like I being billed in advance, for June+July, and the 12GB is pro-rata for the month at 137 and 229 for July. When I tried to confirm this with a very condescending agent, I was informed that I am being billed for May and June instead, apparently I am being billed from the 27th of May (the day I ordered the device and data) - how can you start billing if a contract was not signed yet? But if I am being billed in arrears as claimed, it means 8GB of data is missing, if I am being billed in advance, the missing 8GB makes sense (Pro-Rata), but the agent persisted that I received 20Gb at the start of June? So either 1) I am being billed in advance - the agent doesn't know what shes talking about 2.) I am being billed in arrears - 8GB of data is missing.
I cancelled my new LTE uncapped package well within the 7 days cancellation period, yet telkom didn't do anything yet with regards to cancellation. I cancelled due to the following reasons (not disclosed by telkom). 1.) This service is only limited to Telkom LTE areas (most usable in Gauteng, major metropolitan areas, within limited areas in those areas). 2.) Even if Telkom 3G is available, it won't work, LTE only (roaming on MTN not allowed). 3.) This is a fixed service, you're only allowed to use it in a set location (like a wired service). 4.) Telkom may change their fair use policy whenever they feel like it (so 150GB might become 50GB if they feel like it) 5.) In the covered areas (mostly around Sipho Maseko's house) substantially better broadbands deals are available. Wrote a blog post about this whole incident as well, over here: http://cstruter.com/blog/436 Guys, dont get this service, even if you have coverage, there is better options available.
