I recently signed up at HostKing as I had to move some existing websites to new website hosting and I hadn't tried them before. My experience so far has been great, signup was quick (basically immediate), I received correctly working details, everything has basically worked fine so far, and the technical support have also responded quickly and helpfully when I had requests. I haven't been there long so I'm not sure if there are unknown issues that may reveal themselves over time. I've been developing websites for over 20 years. (Several days before trying Hostking I had tried another hosting company where I had a bad experience for which I've written a separate negative review.)
Around 3rd week July I signed up for Afrihost web hosting. Nothing worked properly for days on end, I couldn't log into CPanel, there were execution issues relating to PHP, and I went back and forth with technical support for days in frustration they gave unhelpful answers. After several days I gave up in frustration and signed up at a different hosting provider, where everything has worked properly. Now I am asking for a full refund but the support is either misreading my answers or telling me I need to cancel "in advance" - so I now I must pay for several months for something that never worked properly and I gave up on it!? No, that's nonsense, I want a full refund.
On 1 July 2021 I placed an online order on Makro website for a printer ink package, which was meant to be delivered to a locker. Since 5 July it still says "On route to customer" in "Tracking" and that the order is "In progress". The tracking system says that the package WAS packed and the courier DID collect it during the first few days of July. 28 July I sent a complaint because the package hadn't arrived. I just got a generic reply ("Please note that we have forwarded your query to the relevant department. As soon as the store/courier provides feedback, we will inform you immediately.") and nobody assisted. Almost two weeks since my first complaint and nothing has happened.
Very rude and patronizing and misplaced arrogant attitude from manager.
In early March my girlfriend and I did some blood tests via a doctor's office that were handled by Lancet. We paid cash in advance for the tests at the doctor's office, where they took blood. A day or two later we received a call from the doctor's office saying the bloods had to be re-drawn as there had been a problem with the bloods (not caused by us). They told us we only simply had to draw blood again, we wouldn't have to pay again as we already paid for all the tests, cash in advance at the doctor. So we went into Lancet Arun Place Somerset West, re-did the blood. A while later we both started receiving messages saying we owe money for the tests. The tests we already paid for, cash in advance. And according to the doctor's office, they agree, we already paid for these tests and should not have to pay again. When I phoned Lancet's call center about the money they claimed I owed they admitted the problem was their side and cleared my "debt" off the system around 13 March. But they continue to HARASS my girlfriend and send messages saying she owes them money. How can this be? That is inconsistent. The doctor's office said they would sort it out with Lancet for us, but Lancet have done nothing and refuse to correct the error, in spite of both the doctor and us following this up multiple times. They want us to pay twice for the same test, when the problem with the bloods had nothing to do with us. Now they say they're handing my girlfriend over the debt collection. This is pure crookery.
Brought in a laptop that needed repairs, they did the job on the spot quickly and for a reasonable price.
Ordered a new custom-built PC from them - they put in extra effort to finalize order quickly/efficiently.
