It was a total pleasure selling my Rosebank cottage through Simon of Robshaw Properties. He was most efficient and attentive and achieved a far better price than the other national agents that I was considering using. The property was sold within 3 days of going on the market.
This is a mixed review as Karen from their Cape Town branch who specializes in prism specs was absolutely excellent and deserves 5 stars, but I have to say that the admin at the Claremont branch leaves a lot to be desired.
Never ever try and change your e-mail and home address with Old Mutual! I tried to do it online with no success, so I phoned their 'helpline' and was told that I had to fill in a 4 page form that they would send to me, which I did. I then received a notification that the matter had been closed due to the fact that I hadn't submitted the required documents. Upon phoning them I was informed that I had to have my signature verified by a commissioner of oaths and they needed a copy of my rates account. After I basically told them to 'get stuffed' I was informed that I could do the changes on their website. Low and behold one can!
I contacted the Apple helpline on 0800 444 426 and was put through to a rather foreign sounding guy called Jim. I was having a problem with my Apple account and couldn't update my apps or Cloud storage. Jim used a very clever procedure (rather like Team Viewer) where with an arrow he pointed to where I should click. Jim solved my problem within minutes and it was an absolute pleasure in chatting to him. Well done Apple Inc!
I recently needed to have the pressure in my right eye tested every few days and went to Spec Savers at the Long Beach Mall in Noordhoek. I just want to say a very special thank you to Gina for the service I received there. I visited quite a few times and was always warmly welcomed by Gina who made no charge for the tests. When I need new specs I will definitely return to this store. Great to experience such friendly service from a large chain.
During the Cape storms a couple of weeks ago my perimeter wall fell on top of my car. The insurance company wrote the vehicle off but as there was only cosmetic damage, I decided to have it repaired. I chatted to Patrick, the owner of Norton's and asked if he would do me a deal - which he did. My lovely Citroen C3 was brought back as good as new in only 2 weeks. Fantastic service - I would thoroughly recommend this company.
I ordered a smart watch from America which was dispatched vie DHL International. After some time the parcel arrived in their New Jersey Depot. There it sat for weeks. I phoned their so called 'helpline' and was told by an Indian sounding gentleman that there was nothing he could do. I managed to obtain the New Jersey Depot telephone number from him and got my daughter in America to contact them. After many attempts she was informed that the parcel had been mislaid. Several weeks later I received notification that the parcel had in fact arrived in Johannesburg. There it sat! In the meantime the supplier had dispatched another watch via international mail. This was subject to my previous review and I was contacted by Busisiwe Sithole from DHL locally who apologised for the lack of service I had received. She requested the Tracking Number which I sent her 3 times. She then phoned me to say that she was from DHL Express and that I needed to contact DHL International. I said no, you contacted me so get someone from International to call me. The next day I received another phone call again apologising for the lack of service - when I gave this new caller the Tracking Number he said that this was for DHL International and that he was from DHL Express. To date I haven't received any further communication.
After trying for 3 days to get connected to fibre with Web Africa, I finally gave up and went with Supersonic. What a pleasure - I got through within 5 mins and they had me up and running in no time at all. They even phoned me back for me to save on my airtime and one of their very knowledgeable techies talked me through connecting my existing modem. Excellent service - well done!
I recently moved house and booked Web Africa to change my service to my new home from my previous address. I tried for 3 days to contact them for them to activate the new service - absolutely impossible. They don't answer their phones and their so called helpful WhatsApp line is just a joke. If you leave a message they never phone you back. I sincerely hope that they go out of business as this company doesn't deserve to be in business. I finally gave up and went with another ISP.
I've recently moved to Simon's Town and booked Frogfoot to install fibre a couple of weeks before the move. Denver was very efficient and the techies arrived dead on time and completed a rather challenging installation. Excellent service!
