Our funds are not safe with Nedbank. Due to Nedbank's inability to manage FICA regulations my accounts have been frozen for 2 weeks with no end in sight. This is the 6th time this has happened in the last 2 years, despite the fact that my profile is fully FICA compliant. I understand this is happening to many other Nedbank clients. No one at Nedbank seems to have a clue how to prevent this or to resolve it once it happens. Zero feedback, zero assistance. They do not seem to even realise that what they are doing in ********. Truly ******** incompetence. DO NOT TRUST YOUR MONEY TO NEDBANK!!
The most utterly *********** courier company on the planet and for some reason the banks use them for delivery of credit cards. Been waiting for mine over a week, no access to funds. 5 people have phoned for my address, which I've given over and over again. Still they can't get past this point.
I have been a Standard Bank Prestige client for 28 years and did a recent deep dive into my charges. I was shocked to discover the extent to which I have been being overcharged for decades. I have been on a package called PAYT which is not detailed or explained on any of their price schedules and works out much more expensive than their advertised packages. As I had no way of being aware of this package I have obviously never requested to be on it. Totally intentionally misleading advertising. I have also been charged exhorbitant monthly fees for a personal garage card that became unnecessary since 2009 although Standard have never bothered to advise clients of this. It is not stipulated on my statements as a garage card charge, so no way to pick up on it. I have requested a refund of these overcharges and Standard have declined on the basis that the onus is on me to check their annual pricing schedule and correct overcharges. How to do this when the amounts I am being charged are not specified on their pricing schedules they cannot explain. Wendy Knowler of News24.com has done several articles on this in the last 2 years. People BEWARE!...check your bank charges. You will probably find Standard Bank are ripping you off.
Your money is not safe with Standard. I recently had a phishing scare and so put an immediate hold on my card. I was advised by the Standard Bank ***** dept that I should send details of the company I had suspicions about to their Phishing Department who would investigate to find out of the company was legitimate or not. I did this. Repeatedly. To date I have received no response from the Phishing Dept which does not seem to exist. I asked the ***** dept to intervene and escalate. They said they were unable to do either as it was not their dept. I was told that if I lIft the hold on my card Standard will accept no liability for losses., despite their failure to investigate. I asked if it was not better to investigate suspicious activities before they resulted in *****. I was told it was, but there was nothing they could do if their Phishing Department chose not to do its job and investigate. I asked if I noticed any unauthorised transactions on my account, would Standard be able to reverse them and within what time period? I was told they didn't know and couldn't fInd out. They didn't think so. Their only job would be to open a ***** case for their "investigating unit" (which probably doesn't exist or function either). So if you are victim of phishing (or fear you may be) and a client of Standard Bank you are basically *****ed. They do not have ANY SYSTEMS OR QUALIFIED PERSONNEL IN PLACE TO PROTECT THEIR CLIENTS FROM PHISHING. Be warned.
Under no circumstances use Al****s, especially for COC - they will quote you a reasonable inspection fee and then hit you with a massive bill for utterly fabricated and unnecessary repairs at highly inflated prices in order to achieve their utterly bizarre idea of "compliance". Even intervention by the Electricity Conformance Board makes no difference - they simply ignore it. Dealing with them has been an absolute nightmare.....they are ********* and dishonest to the point of ********ity. Either that or they don't have a clue what they are doing. Either way, they CANNOT be trusted.
If you are insured with Discovery for income continuation benefits or medical aid you had better hope and pray you never get setiouslu ill. They don't repudiate solid claims because they can't. They just either refuse to reply or keep you jumping thru unending hoops until you either die or give up. That is their policy. Unless you are prepared to take legal action you will never ever get paid out. This company is pure evil. Do not trust your insurance to them...it is money down the drain.
Do NOT buy AIM appliances from Pick n Pay or Hyper! This is one of their SO CALLED "in house" products so if you want to get a part or repair for an AIM appliance you have purchased from them you can only call their so-called "customer care" line. Their call centre operators are extremely unhelpful and utterly ***********. They will spend the first 15 minutes trying to convince you that altho they manufacture the appliance they have no idea who the manufacturers are or how to find out. Eventually to get rid of you they will give you a false number to call that doesn't exist. And when you call back you will get the same rude, unhelpful idiot again, who will hang up on you. There is no after sales service whatsoever, and the parts are not available anywhere else. I will never again buy an appliance from Pick n Pay.
Do not use Makro's online service. It is a disaster.

When you try to call to resolve issues you find yourself dealing with the stupidest, most unhelpful people on the planet. You will be transferred from department to department and cut off repeatedly, until you eventually give up. You will hold on for hours. Contracts mean nothing to them. Undoubtedly the worst service provider in the country. There are no words to describe how unethical and incompetent they are. Since posting this I received a reply saying someone would contact me. No one has, and since then Vodacom has looted more money from my account. Criminal organisation.
