I found O’Kelly Interiors on a local Whatsapp group as I was looking for furniture for my 4 year old, just graduating to his ‘own stuff’ – with his birthday coming up in October. Wanting to support small business I ordered a chest of drawers and a child’s bed from them on the 12th and 13th of July 2025. I was told by O’Kelly Interiors that the turn-arround time would be: ‘Turnaround time 10 to 15 days’. I paid the 50% deposits demanded on both items upfront immediately without question. On the first of August, O’kelly Interiors assured me that the child’s bed ‘will be completed next week’. After much back and forth, the chest of drawers was delivered on the roof of a car on the 8th of August 2025 and was terribly made. The drawers did not work and it would not have held together for any period of time. The facing of the one drawer fell off on the second day. They collected the item (after rescheduling 4 times) and returned it it better condition on the 15th of September with the promise that the childs bed would be ‘delivered next week’. (Still in time for my son's birthday so OKAY!) I had now paid in full for the chest of drawers and awaited the bed with some trepidation as the drawers had been so bad. On the 23rd of September I got the message: ‘ Went past factory guys still bust with painting and artwork on your police car bed. Still on production line.’ On the 15th of October - three weeks later with no follow-up and no product delivered with the child's birthday in the past, I gave up and requested the return of my deposit. My son’s birthday had come and gone without the promised new bed so I just wanted to go to a mainstream manufacturer and buy him the bed he had been promised. O’Kelly Interiors now bows out of the process and refers me to the ‘manufacturer’. CUSTOM COUCHES of 6 Kyanite Street, Sundowner Randburg are apparently the manufacturers of the items and it is to their bank account I paid the deposit. CUSTOM COUCHES (Pty) Ltd with a gmail address of robynnepereira@gmail.com so you expect a Robynne Pereira to be involved but no, a ‘Mark’ sends a recalcitrant and unapologetic message to O’Kelly Interiors who forwards to me that after THREE MONTHS of ‘next week’ , ‘next week’ and ‘next week’ that they refuse to return my deposit for the bed and will pay me off over 4 months (which I don’t believe at all since their website listed on their TikTok account and their Instagram account has been suspended for non-payment.) https://www.instagram.com/customcouches/?hl=en https://www.tiktok.com/@customcouches https://za.pinterest.com/robynnepereira/ https://www.okellygroupinc.co.za/cgi-sys/suspendedpage.cgi?page_id=205 O'Kelly Group Interiors presents themselves as 'separate' to the 'manufacturers' but seem to use the same web provider and BOTH of their websites (as of todays date) are suspended due to non-payment. What you wont get from EITHER of these two is an HONEST STRAIGHT ANSWER. O’Kelly Interiors don’t seem much more reliable with mutiple web-presences under O’kelly Interiors, O’Kelly Group Inc or Kelly Furniture House etc. But they don’t seem to actually MAKE anything but are distributors for the Custom Couches débâcle – who are at best wholly ***********, at worst complete ****mers. The intention was clear, new furniture for a 4 year old who was turning 5 and this lot O’Kelly Interiors and the ‘manufacturers’ they purport to represent have completely disappointed this young man. As a parent, I’m enraged. As a business-person, I know things happen and had they not insisted on b’sing their way through 3 months with ‘next week’ always ‘next week’ or at least been decent enough to know when their BS had been called and just returned the deposit, I would not be going to the effort to share this horrible experience, but they clearly are not people of integrity or any measure of honour and so please, save yourself the headache and drama and find yourself a source of quality furniture that has SOME integrity and has AT LEAST a passing relationship with honesty – they guys – from O’Kelly Interiors or O’Kelly Group Inc or to Custom Couches (Pty) Ltd do not. If they ever do return my deposit, I will post a follow-up to answer the ultimate question - are this lot ****mers and *****sters or simply incompetant?
Awful!! They operate on Vumatel infrustructure in our area, and the whole area was down for 15 hours two days ago - then everyone else came back on - EXCEPT US!! Afrihost could not give a damn! They don't return request for calls and want US to go and BUY a laptop to do THEIR job. SHocking company!! Two days we've been down now and they still don't have a solution! Arrogant, they certainly don't value their clients. The problem is clearly on their side but instead of finding it, they want US to jump through hoops to find THIER problem. If you're shopping arround, go somewhere else, these people are not client service focused. They behave as if you're LUCKY to be their client and they don't need to provide any kind of service standards. Shameful!!
A dear friend and elderly Gentleman, Leon Mitchley, has been de*****ed by MTN. They charged him insurance premiums for a phone he had under contract with them from 2020 to 2022 and when it came to claiming for the phone, they have been giving him the run-arround for 8 months. Service staff and the Northgate branch manager have tried to assist him but all have given up in frustration as their Insurance Division invents new hurdles at ever contact and most recently, they deny the clain was ever submitted!! I am assisting him to lay ***** charges against MTN Insurance as they have charged him premiums they never intended to honour. Despicable!!
For two years we've had finance with Wesbank as flawless customers. Last month a thief tried to steal funds from the account in some scam and so on their debit order date, the funds weren't available. I immediately tried to log in to customer service on the website. No luck. So I emailed them. No response. I've emailed them four times in the last few weeks - they have not bothered to respond and in the meantime a debit order has gone off. Today I get a message that we've been "handed over". There is nowhere on their website to lay a complaint and the only email address available is a black hole. Unless you want to spend hours on hold - this company wouldn't know customer service if it smacked them in the eye. I have their payment - but since they wont reply to me with deposit details I cant get it to them - so they're *****ing up my credit record and incurring costs I WILL NOT PAY - simply because their "customer service" is so shocking. We've been paying an additional fee for 2 years for a service that does nothing - but I cant even cancel that because their email system is a black hole. I'm shocked that such a large company is so deficient in customer service.
First there was the issue with the debit orders - they decide what day they debit and its out of line with everyone else so any date you select on your app is ignored. So instead we switch to manual payments - on the 25th as instructed and the first time goes ok. This time, despite receiving their payment on the 25th, they disconnect anyway. This business really doesn't want to retain business, they are not customer-friendly at all but rather arrogant and they set the terms - if you don't like it, tough. And they don't pay their installers so advertise "free installation" but then leave you with the installation bill. There are a lot of service providers out there folks - let this one know that the customer really is King (a fact they are absolutely oblivious of) and move on. These people don't deserve your custom.
We encountered Ikhopoloeng at nedbank when we opened and account in preparation for a bond that we so regret now placing instead with Standard Bank because they gave us a better rate. He was so helpful and was quickly moved to Private banking and we were happy to follow him. His cheerful and healpful demeanor are a pleasure and well worth the fees we pay to be able to deal with him. In an environment where its so easy to make people happy because there's so much incompetance arround - our Private Banker is an absolute pleasure to deal with - even when he cant give us good news, his delivery is flawless.
Unfortunately they don't offer many services but of all the banks - theirs has been the best service, least problematic and given us the least headaches. Just wish they would offer more products.

We purchased a vehcile from havaal West-rand over a year ago now and despite a rocky start (other branches really do not share this vote) - the only complaint we've had is they had no stock of the top of line car and we had to settle for the next in line. Beyond that they are always helpful, we've not had to pay in a cent - even when we took them the car thinking there might be something wrong - they checked it out and found nothing - but didn't charge us. Thanks to Raeno and crew, we're very happy with the purchase and the vehicle!
