I have said this before, and I am repeating it, NEVER EVER sign anything that will give CELLC access to your bank account. Cell C will withdraw ANY amount they see fit from your account and if you try and cancel the debit order they slap a PENALTY FEE on you. You are offered a SPECIAL and that is how they get you to sign. Last year Dec 2024 I signed for such a SPECIAL for SMART DATA INTERNET only, My problems started right there. It is now DEC 2025 and it is still the same. I have it IN WRITING that I can pay by EFT on the 25th of each month, which I did, and although Cell C did get the fee on time, they STILL try, every month, to withdraw from my bank account and when they can not they add a R70.00 penalty fee onto the statement.
BEWARE THE TRAP. Never ever sign ANY CONTRACT with Cell C that will give them access to your bank account. They will take whatever they see fit from your account. Cell C will not allow you to cancel a DEBIT ORDER, it is like a two year prison sentence. I will NEVER do business with Cell C again, no matter how enticing the " SPECIAL OFFER" is.
NEVER EVER give Cell C access to your bank account via DEBIT ORDER. Cell C do not stick to the agreed amount, they will take any amount they like. This is what happens when you try to cancel the debit order. They tell you, doesn't matter who you talk to, that they CANNOT stop the debit order. I requested by e-mail, several times, cancelation of the debit order. This is the answer I received: "Should you wish to change to cash payment without any valid reason kindly process payment 5 days before your debit date". So I did exactly that and I send a Proof OF Payment, but at the end of the month, although they have RECEIVED the payment, Cell C attempted to withdraw the fee via the debit order. When it failed ( I stopped it at the bank) they had the cheek to charge me a PENALTY fee.
I was offered a "SPECIAL DEAL" by Cell C when I was contacted by a Cell C tele-marketer. He in informed my contract was expiring, but I told him I'm going to cancel my contract because I can get a better deal from another company. He then offered me this "SPECIAL DEAL". I signed the contract BUT Cell C did not honour the deal, they keep on taking higher amounts from my bank account. I have sent numerous e-mails, spoken to the accounts dept. THEY DO NOT LISTEN!!!!! I WILL NEVER, UNDER ANY SURCEMSTANCE, EVER DO BUSINESS WITH CELL C AGAIN.
Beware when presented with a "Special Deal" from Cell C. There are hidden costs involved. You can argue with the accounts department until you are blue in the face, but it is futile. I will NEVER do ANY business with Cell C EVER again.
I bought a spray mop with brush cleaner in January on-line. It had a limited 6 month warranty. THE HANDLE BROKE the fourth time I used it, and I returned it for a refund. The request was declined because and I quote:" It must be undamaged and unused, and all original labels still intact" I Reminded them by e-mail that the product had a 6 month warranty and they requested photos which I provided. The answer came back:" There is visible user damage to your item which voids the warranty". I asked them to explain "User Damage" THIS WAS THE ANSWER: " THE HANDLE IS BROKEN". This 6 month limited warranty is useless as well as misleading. I thought I was getting a bargain. I have also noticed that a lot of items on the Takealot website have this bogus? 6 month warranty.
I had to import a consignment from Ireland and requested a quote from DHL. We excepted the quote we received, the goods were delivered, but when we got the invoice it was a couple of hundred rand MORE than what we were quoted! SO BEWARE! On top of this, they made a mistake on the import documents so when we wanted to pay the supplier in Ireland, the bank rejected the documentation and requested a Voucher of Correction. This request was sent to DHL but the SAME document was sent back with an e-mail that said that the document was correct. After two weeks, and plenty of e-mails, trying to explain to them, their mistake, I finally453178 found a person at DHL that was capable to issue the voucher of correction. DHL is not as good as what their TV adverti*****t makes them out to be.
What an excellent company! I have received wonderful service from PacketSky. Best part is, when things go wrong, and you phone them, an actual live person picks up the phone and sort out the problem. How refreshing! I would recommend PacketSky any day. N Spangenberg.
In November 2020 I appointed Fedex Express to handle my import, consisting of two cartons, from Ireland. On the 4th of December 2020 I was informed that the shipment was in South Africa at Customs. But nothing was delivered. They kept on requesting documents '' for customs". The last day of February 2021 I was informed that they have lost one carton, valued nearly R18000.00. I submitted a claim. About three weeks ago when I requested an update I was informed by Katleho Ntobong that the claim was paid. I have received no formal documentation as to how much and when this was paid, and I received no money. I have requested PROOF OF PAYMENT from Katleho three times already, but the request is just ignored. FEDEX IS THE MOST UNPROFESSIONAL BUSINESS I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH. Comfitcc.
