I have used the aim products for many years, ordering and delivery is quick and easy, the products are of the highest standard and they work brilliantly.
It takes months to get anything from the Department of home affairs, if you are lucky enough to ever recieve what you are waiting for at all. Not one of their telephone numbers work, e mails go unanswered. The staff are rude and down right arrogant and yet if one pays a 3rd party company to get the required documents at a fee from R3500.00 to R6500.00 it is delivered in a week to 2 days. So it would be correct to say the the normal man on the street who does things the legal way does not stand a chance of getting what they need. I am waiting 5 months for determination of SA Citizenship, and no one can tell me where it is. I will not bribe anyone for a job they are paid to do. Downright disgusting.
Today I have, and huge gripe. After going to 3 different Home Affairs offices in Pretoria to obtain a retention of SA Citizenship. I was turned away from each one saying they don't give that service and referred me to the othe HA in Pretoria. This has been going on for months. Yet for a fee of anything between R2500 to R6500 it is possible to get this done through a third party. So in other words they can't do the job they are hired to do but you can pay someone a bribe to get it done!!! Who do we report this to and how do we get SA retention when the very offices who are supposed to render a service don't?
While the elderly stand in queues come heat or rain waiting to get into Sassa offices to claim the ridiculous amount the Government pays them they still have the time to send out total and utter rubbish to people not even claiming a pension. So after receiving the mail below this was my reply, it might be a bit harsh but I like thousands of other South Africans am sick of the rot that manifests itself through the Government departments. Dear Sir Thank you for your letter pointing out the many reasons why I have been declined the SASSA grant, the fact that I have never tried to claim a grant as well as the statement that I am already receiving a social grant as well as a NSFAS stipend has got to be a joke, I do not receive any of these nor have I ever received these payments, as for me being on a Government salary database, I have never worked for the Government and would not lower my standards to do so with all the corruption and stealing going on. So where you got my details from is a mystery to me. Please sort your system out and start paying the thousands of elderly people who receive nothing from SASSA and stop wasting my time. SASSA would like to apologise sincerely for the delayed response. If you have been assisted in the meantime or if your request was not related to the SASSA SRD grant, please ignore this e-mail. I have been waiting for months for payment from the UIF, like so many hundreds of others in SA. I have e mailed over and over, called the contact center too many times to count and have to be honest have been left constantly disappointed. This morning I called in early around 8.30am and had the most patient Lady, really sorry I did not catch her name, but what a pleasure she was to speak to, She explained how the UIF system works, which for me is a long winded way of getting people paid, but that is the system and I'm sure it works for them, though I don't think the hundreds of SA Citizens would agree, to be honest I think the process if antiquated and needs a thorough looking into. However having said that it was refreshing to find someone so calm, kind and caring at the UID dept.
I recently had to go into TLS Contact center in Sandton to get biometrics done. I give then a huge 10 out of 10 for being so friendly, helpful and super efficient, the process was done so quickly despite the fact I was an hour early. Really refreshing to find a company that functions so well from the downstairs reception area all the way through, outstanding service!
I am appalled at the total lack of empathy for the mountains of unemployed people in SA relying on the uif payments to assist them in a time of dire need. Despite millions being paid out to the "wrong" people and nothing being done to try and recoup the money or criminal charges being laid against the culprits, helped no doubt by someone on the inside. I have clients who claimed over a year ago and still no reply to mails and no payments on the horizon. Are they incompetent at their jobs? is there any money left after all the thievery? or is it a case of govt employees just not giving a damn about the hardworking SA people who are now relying on the one entity they have paid into for years to be there for them when they are in such desperate need?
I needed to send a parcel of winter clothing and foodstuff to Nelspruit for a relative and decided to try the Courier Guy, what amazing service, and very affordable. From the time I booked for the collection to them picking up the parcel and delivering, it was smooth sailing all the way, what really amazed me was the low price as opposed to other courier companies, I can highly recommend them. The driver, sadly didn't get his name, but he was professional, polite and very competent.
Giving a heads up to the Checkers at Atterbury Value Mart, during this time of lockdown the shelves are full, fresh veg and fruit is packed out daily, the staff are happy and upbeat, the store is clean, and when you walk in the door the security is ready with the sanitizer and wet wipes for the trolly or basket handles, after hearing about all the panic buying which also happened here, not once have I been into the shop and not been able to get what was needed.
I took a chance on picking up medication for a dental procedure from the Tshwane District Hospital, after being recently unemployed I thought while the hospital was quiet I would get the medicine there. What a shock!! I cannot believe that people are made to stand, sit or lay in the sun in que's that back up for hours. The staff are not overly friendly or helpful and slow does not even describe it. I stood for almost 2 hours in the hot sun waiting to be let into the pharmacy and then once again had to sit in line until it was my turn and then wait again until the medication was ready. There were elderly people, young children, people on crutches and in wheel chairs, who had been going from one department to the next and then finally in line waiting for their meds. Surely with the amount of staff wandering around they could speed the services up. Sadly for those who have no other choice this is what they have to face every time they are sick or need meds. It's heartbreaking to see.
