’ve had an extremely frustrating experience trying to return an LG microwave purchased via Takealot that stopped working just a few weeks after purchase. Takealot directed us to LG for a replacement under a policy that was not clearly explained at the point of purchase. After considerable effort dealing with LG, we eventually obtained all the paperwork and confirmation LG said was required for Takealot to process a credit. Despite this, Takealot’s Zendesk support was largely unresponsive, or repeatedly sent us back to LG, as if the required information had not already been provided. This resulted in endless back-and-forth with no resolution. The microwave was purchased in October 2025. As of January 2026, there has still been no replacement or credit issued. We are simply out of pocket with a broken appliance. This experience has completely eroded my trust in both LG and Takealot for large appliances. I will not be purchasing LG products again, and I will avoid buying these types of items through Takealot in future. I would rather deal directly with the manufacturer or use an alternative retailer.

Avoid at all costs if you are able to. I was renting a unit at Bree Castle House in Cape Town CBD and I literally had to take them to the small claims court to get back my deposit. What a disgrace.
Tried to purchase a new phone on a 1000 per month contract. The phone never arrived, and could not get a single human being to assist me in understanding why, they shifted me between RAM the courier and back to vodacom, mostly to their useless chatbot. In the end have cancelled the order and still havent gotten feedback as to whether the cancellation even worked. But in any case the phone is never going to arrive and the contract wont be initiated as they are literally too useless to achieve that.
Ordered a book with a week to go before leaving for xmas holiday, the book never arrived due to exclusives using a notoriously bad service provider in Dawn Wing.
Absolutely terrible. Waited for a week to receive a package from exclusive books which never arrived, despite being on the phone to them daily.
Dont buy from home owners trying to sell through PropertyFoX! Property fox facilitated the sale of a property from a certain seller to myself and there was obviously no due diligence whatsoever in terms of what the seller was contractually obliged to do (electrical certificate in this case). As a seller you can obviously go with these type of companies as in a good market you pay little commission and can basically hand over whatever type of fly by night certificates you feel like at whatever cost. but Buyers beware!! Cost me 20k in getting the right certificates after the fact. Dont buy from home owners trying to sell through PropertyFoX!
