I am as delighted as I was surprised by friendly, efficient service. Talk about going above and beyond, Chris Wilke at Vodacom in the V&A Waterfront spent around 2 hours understanding my problem, solving it and making sure that I understood. I was at my wit’s end after more than two months of being mucked around by another Vodacom branch and their selected repair company while trying to get an insured, faulty phone fixed or at least properly assessed. I was eventually advised to go to the branch where we bought the phone (V&A Waterfront). I emailed about an hour in advance and was greeted by the knowledgeable Chris as I arrived. Unlike his counterparts at other stores, Chris did not offer excuses and reasons why this must be my fault (the customer is always wrong). He listened and apologised, explained why we are not as well insured as we thought we were, and suggested a few possible solutions. I left with a new phone and another contract (to sell me air for a fortune) so not a bad deal for Vodacom, but also with a discount thanks to a trade-in on the old phone, an understanding of the terms of the contract and insurance, some tips on maximising the phone contract, and my faith restored.
After tearing my hair out at the poor service I received from Vodacom (internet at my home-office) I moved to Atomic Access, who provide personal, efficient, speedy service at every possible touchpoint. This is a local company that cares about its customers and really went the extra mile to restore my faith in the industry ... and it is cheaper!
I have been to a few Specsavers in my time (including CT CBD, Musgrave in Durban and London, when I lived there), the one Kloof Street has been my home store for more than 10 years. Everything about every visit has been exceptional. Friendly, professional, helpful and no unnecessary upselling. The cherry on the top was a recent experience when my better half last brand new prescription sunnies on the day she collected them and Sel (owner of Kloof Street, I think) replaced them at what can only have been cost price
Tasneem in the store in Gardens Shopping Centre restored my faith in tech types by solving my problem on the spot and not charging for it (removed dust/lint from charger jack) when Vodacom had said the jack was damaged and they would need 21 days (and Lord knows how much cash) to fix it.
Shoulders above the other Vodacom stores. The staff here are always pleasant and try first to find a solution that is not just about getting more money out of you. I have been to other branches where they can't wait to upsell and/or overcharge for anything. Gardens not my nearest branch but totally worth the trip
Shaun is my Go To Odd Job man. Whether it is tiling, fixing leaks, replacing doors, fitting a dishwasher, building drawers Shaun tackles anything. I have him on speed dial
Speedy efficient friendly service from Kelebogile Diale (Lebo) when geyser burst on a Sunday morning after Standard Bank (with whom we have buildings insurance) just made all our problems worse
Dylan diagnosed problem and got quotes for parts on the spot, but suggested we don't spend more money on an old machine, even if that would have would meant more business/cash for them today and possibly in future. By doing so, he lost a job worth a few grand but gained a customer for life
Really good after-sales service. I complained about a dent appearing in the foam, Justin responded quickly, explained that it can occasionally happen, he was very apologetic and had it replaced pronto. Looks like new
