In July 2023 I bought a refurbished iphone from Mobitronics. It was delivered promptly. I immediately noticed that the battery was not holding enough charge and contacted the owner. Her response was "Our devices are pre-owned but the battery should at least last half a day." This is ridiculous! A refurbished item should have a fully functional battery. It is now 9 months since I set-up the iphone and it heats-up when charging and the battery lasts for a matter of 2 or 3 hours. Without a doubt, this is one of the worst purchases I have ever made.
If there was a rating below "1*" I would use it. Absolutely atrocious (lack of) service. I used the tracking tool of Courierit to track a parcel which I was expecting. Firstly the information provided did not make sense and secondly the tracking tool showed that the parcel was dispatched for delivery to my address 17.5hours ago. I called their call centre to enquire about the expected time of arrival of my parcel. The first time I called I was told to hold and the consultant at COURIERIT disappeared. After holding for a very long time, I hung-up and sent an email to the local branch manager (Gill Vermaak). I still have not received a response to this email. I then called COURIERIT again and spoke to Brenda, who was courteous & promised to send a message to the relevant department to call me back. It is now 4 hours later & I still have heard nothing from COURIERIT. COURIERIT - it is simple - JUST COMMUNICATE. At this point I have no idea whether my purchase has been stolen or whether I have been scammed. I do not understand why a delivery that was dispatched on delivery to me 28 hours ago has not yet been delivered and why I have not been notified of its whereabouts, in spite of calling and emailing the company. This company needs to be relegated to the dustbin.
Previously I gave this company a 5-star rating for service because they delivered boots to me in record time. However the first time I wore the boots, one of the lacing eyelets fell-out. This was clearly a manufacturing fault. When I contacted Hullabaloo I was told that they were no longer the agents for the Hoka Kaha boots and they referred me to the new agents, who in turn told me that it was not their responsibility but rather the responsibility of Hullabaloo. The nett result is that I have bought a pair of defective boots and have no recourse. Interestingly Hullabaloo still features this boot on their website!

I tried to purchase a pair of Hoka boots online from Hullabaloo. My size was sold out so just on a whim I emailed and asked whether they may get more stock at the special sale price! William Pienaar replied promptly to tell me that they were expecting new stock and he could let me have my size at the reduced rate. I made a not to check with them a few weeks later but before I could do that,William contacted me to tell me that the boots had arrived and I could purchase. He gave me a link which took me directly to MY CHOSEN boot. I bought the boots and then realised that I would be away for a long period by the time the boots were delivered. I emailed William yesterday and mentioned this to him, not really expecting the impossible (especially since we have a long weekend looming. Much to my surprise the boots were hand delivered this morning (at no extra cost). I wish all companies would offer this level of customer care and service. Absolutely beyond expectation! Thank you William.
The owner, mechanic & all other staff at this local automotive workshop are always friendly and courteous and go out of their way to help clients. Their work is excellent and fairly priced and they freely provide good advice. An old school, personal, service-oriented business. Always a pleasure to give them business.
The WORST online shopping experience EVER. This is my 2nd review about the same issue. I placed an order on 8th July & was told the item would arrive by 15th July. It is now 4th Aug & I have not received the item. Even worse is the complete lack of communication. Their phones are disconnected and their computer generated replies simply state that they are investigating and will revert - which they never do. So in summary they have taken my money and disappeared! DO NOT EVER USE THIS COMPANY.
I have not yet received the item I purchased but this company has regularly communicated with me to keep me informed of progress regarding delivery of my device. They made it clear right from the start that it might take a while for me to receive my item and they have emailed me about every 2nd day to give me an update. AND there are real people working there. When I reply to an update from them I receive a personal email, not just a computer generate bot. These guys have been great so far. Better than any other online retailer I have dealt with.
I placed an order AND PAID on 8th of July. Dispatch was expected on 15th July. It is now 28th July and still no item - nor any voluntary communication. I cannot reach Loot.co.za on the phone number provided. Email responses are standard replies. When I resort to TWITTER all I get is feeble excuses basically saying “We have accepted your payment but we have no idea where your purchased item is”. On 22 July I received this message "We may take up to 72 hours to respond to this email,". 72 hours is equivalent to 3 days. It is now 6 days later & I have heard nothing from LOOT.co.za!!! How about some communication? Where is MY item? What is the status of the order? Why is it so late? When can I expect it?
Do you not have an option for zero stars? I have been unable to see my statements for 3 weeks. I have tried calling and using the chat line. I even resorted to TWITTER. I received a reply on twitter implying that I have been called by FNB and received an email. Yes - I received an email days ago saying that my issue had been "escalated"!!!! Atrocious customer "service".
