To all the people who thought that dealing with discovery medical aid was a pleasure are in for a big surprise. Discovery medical aid call centre are in organised, no idea what is happening with your health, the call centre has not been trained how to deal with medical conditions. Nothing is urgent even if it's a matter of life or death. They will make excellent call centre agents selling lies to their clients. I know this is very harsh but Adrian Gore must take time and listen to the call centre agents call and the sick people trying to get service and answers out of Discovery medical aid. My nephrologist send in all the right forms , medication I am on and blood tests for I think going back 2 year's. All my Nephrologist which is a kidney specialist is asking for is 4 extra visits as I have chronic kidney desease stage 3b and my kidney function was decreasing at an abnormal rate. The nephrologist did not put me on medication for my kidneys as I have a un ussaul condition called pancreatitis which I can die from if I take the wrong medication. This condition was not self inflicted but I have had more or less 7 or 8 pancreas attacks once with a blood clot in the pancreas in a space of 14 months. So now my kidneys are failing on the 8 February 2024 my kidneys specialist send in all relevant documents and blood tests showing my kidneys function. I have called a number of times and spend allot of call time for the chronic department and other departments to find my kidney specialist request. Yesterday I got an answer from the discovery agent she has found my specialist request but have no answer. After waiting for almost 32 days for feedback when discovery medical aid turn around time is between 3 to 5 working day's. The next words that came out of the agents mouth shocked 😲 me. They needed more....I stopped the conversation and asked for an email so I can send an email to HALLO Peter and I had to wait and wait to get an email address out of them. The next things that is going to happen is an accounts executive is going to look in to the matter and to safe face make contact with me. However they will then tell me that I have a broker and the broker must deal with my complaint. Even though I am on disability and have been in contact with my company broker and I was told that they are not qualified to deal with these situations and that they work for my company and not for me. I am asking Discovery medical aid to have a face to face meeting with me as my chronic kidney basket and blood tests and medication is in a mess. When you have kidney problems at time you can get a UTI and if it is not treated can cause futher damage to your kidney function that is hanging on a thin line. My specialist send a urine sample to be tested. My kidney basket paid for the dip stick and putting it in the urine. However the urine must be tested further to see what bacteria is growing. This is were you pay allot and I was shocked 😦 to see the balance of my urine test come out of my savings account. I am not ungrateful but we are paying allot of money for top quality specialized service from Discovery medical aid and we are not getting any service.....what a shame 😞 we are old and medical aid is a necessity and a luxury for us. Just had the most wonderful experience today with Kiyara Pretorius from FNB Meyersdal mall. She is very professional, she knows her products very well. And she is very kind and helpful to the elderly people. And has tons and tons of patience. Thank you for employing her.
To Ryan Noach CEO of Discovery medical aid Discovery medical aid will not only be effecting my life and health but that of your members in 2024 I have been a loyal member for 20 years and I am shocked and disgusted with your heave price increase and talking away some of our major benefits. I have calculated and for the year 2024 Discovery medical aid will give me a total of R60 104.00 for the year for my general health. While my annual premium for 2024 will cost me R100 572.00. R60 104. 00 health cover / R100 572. Annual premium does not look good. Discovery has now taken away the unlimited Fund and has put in place a LIMITED amount in of R35 000.00 which is a total of R60 104.00 for the year. I am shocked and horrified with your new changes. Ryan , you said Discovery is giving us adequate time to make changes but you are punishing the elderly,frail and members with medical conditions. No other medical aid will accept us now after being so loyal to Discovery medical aid. We have no option stay and accept what ever Discovery medical aid does or die without a medical aid. I am sure this Hallopeter won't even cross your desk. As discovery medical aid does not care how your changes is effecting my life and health and that of your members. As long as you get paid you don't care if your members have to eat cat food to full their stomach. So that we can pay our medical aid premium, levies and other payment out of our pockets. You are not looking after yourself loyal members that has been with you for years. Now when we need Discovery medical aid the most you are failing us. Very sad but true
I would like to thank dr Heidi Liversage for being such an excellent 👌 surgeon. Dr Heidi Liversage has got the top of the range equipment that could pick up a problem with my tooth that took other dentist's months to sort out. Dr Heidi Liversage remove my tooth today and she put a implant in. I was amazed at how professional dr Heidi Liversage was. I felt no pain and she is excellent 👌 at what she does. Dr Heidi Liversage is a specialist, she is great with per patients and has got allot of knowledge. I have serious chronic conditions and she took and discussed everything with me before she did the procedure. I give dr Heidi Liversage a 5 golden star ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ award. I would recommend her any time and I am very pleased that she could help me. Her assistant name is Jane and she is amazing, she cares about her patients and she takes care and make sure your bill is paid by the medical aid. She is the sunshine in the office. I have just had the worst experience at Akeso clinic Alberton. I went to go and see my psychologist's and the main office door where all the patients would sit and wait was closed. I opened the door and I could not breath it was boiling 🥵 hot in the receipt on area. I sat down and the aircon caught my eye and the temperature 🌡️ was set at 31 degrees. I asked another patient also waiting if they were getting hot 🔥 and he said it was boiling in the reception area. I asked the lady who was working there for one of the doctor if they had a problem with the aircon as it was set at 31 degrees and it feels like we are 8n Dubai it is so 🔥 hot. She gave me a look and turned around and walked away. Leaving me and the other patients sitting in a hot 🔥 box that is in healthy as germs breed in warm places like that. I wanted to see the main manager of Akeso clinic Alberton to bring to him the UN healthy and extremely hot office the patients had to sit in waiting for their doctors. But in stead the receptionist told me I could not complain about sitting in a receipton area which is very small about the temperature 🌡️ because I am a patient and I don't sit in that office the whole day. The normal temperature that is comfortable is between 22 and 24 degrees not 31 degrees. So Narah Makomole and Swazi Makomo told me I had no right to complain about the temperature 🤒. So the next time the patients go to Akeso Clinic Alberton I suggest you take your own camping chairs so you can sit in the passage to wait for your doctor so you don't have to sit in the receipton area at 31 degrees because it suits the staff. F......k the patients that pay your salary. With out your patients you will not have a job. Get that into your head. Your patients like a customer comes first. Not the other way around. I am very disappointed 😞 in the treatment I received and the fact after the patient's complained about the extreme temperatures in the office. We were just ignored. Very 😞😞 service and bad 😞 for business
Late last year I spoke to Discovery Medical Aid and asked for my self payment gap so I can save for it. Which I did in an amount of R4121.00. Today I called and they say my self payment gap has increased to R5600 and it still can increase. I have been holding on for an 1.30 minutes. Discovery telling all mumble jumble that I don't understand. I am not working for Discovery so your way of speaking to me means nothing. I have a mental condition and no one at discovery can explain in plain English what is happening. I asked for them to call me back but they are not allowed to call you back. I have been with Discovery for almost 20 year's and I am very disappointed with them. Not even the CEO will speak to you but they want our business and money every month. I want a call back from Discovery medical aid today. To tell me what the hell is going on with my self payment gap
I have had nothing but problems with Matrix. You can never ever get hold of the. I want to cancel my Matrix I have send two emails and have called 19 times to speak to someone that can tell me the procedure as I am on a month to month contract with them. All I get is reference numbers and no one calls you to sort out your cancellation. I got hold of the contacting company that works for Matrix to come and take out the matrix urgently. Please can someone please call me from Matrix. I JUST CAN NOT GET THROUGH TO YOU
