I lodged a burst geyser claim and was clearly told by the assigned claims consultant that my excess was waived because I am a pensioner. Shortly after, the contractor demanded payment of an excess. When I queried this, another Standard Bank consultant contradicted the original decision, refused to escalate the matter, and effectively withheld emergency repairs over a weekend unless I paid. I was told no supervisor was available because it was after hours, so either I paid or the work would not proceed. This despite the issue clearly being an internal communication failure on their side. This is not how loyal customers or pensioners should be treated. Large institutions should not bully customers into submission or punish them for questioning contradictory information. Very disappointing service from Standard Bank Insurance. Be cautious and get everything in writing.
I am extremely disappointed with the drastic decline in quality and value at West Pack Lifestyle. I recently bought toilet bowl cleaner blocks that did not even last four days. Days later I found the same product at another retailer for nearly half the price. Cleaning products have become significantly more expensive, yet quality has clearly dropped. Storage items warp, crack, and break under normal use. The products look cheaply manufactured and poorly assembled. West Pack used to represent value and reliability. Today it represents overpriced, low-quality stock. I no longer see any reason to shop at West Pack when competitors offer better quality at better prices. Unless there is a serious improvement in sourcing and pricing, I will not be returning. Very disappointed in a brand that has clearly lost its standards.
Do yourself a favour and buy another brand. Terrible design, useless manual. No way to know when it’s preheated, no beep when cooking ends, and the function symbols are meaningless — the manual doesn’t even explain them. It talks about features like “dehydrate” but never tells you which button that is. Whoever designed this clearly never tested it with real users. Frustrating, disappointing, and absolutely not worth the money.
Safy Story as per home page, "We are all about safety, reliability, and customer satisfaction". What a lie, zero customer satisfaction more like it. The reason for this statement is below: Purchased an empty gas cylinder online from Makro (as online was the only option) and the 3rd party supplier being Safy. Delivery was schedules for 9th June 2025. Sat and waited the whole day no feedback. Called Makro the following day requesting status of order. Was given the run around by *********** Makro staff. After complaining bitterly, the complaint was escalated. The result, the order was cancelled on late Tuesday afternoon with an SMS advising funds refunded due to 3rd party not being able to meet commitment. Makro seems to think refund the client resolves the issue. They don't really care about inconvenience or time wasted and did not even try and resolve. Simply cancelled the order and stuff the customer. Don't use Makro online as the reviews are not favorable at all. Google for yourself and you will see no complimentary remark at all.

I am assuming the escalation is to someone who doesn't read emails as I have had no response from person escalated to. Don't use Makro online as the reviews are not favorable at all. Complained about a Dr Scholl callus remover purchased a while ago. Used it twice and hadn't used it again until recently as it is not something you use that often. When I switched it on it ran for a few seconds and then stopped completely. I submitted a complaint via dr Scholl's website and to date no response, not even an acknowledgement of receipt of my complaint. Absolutely pathetic. I used to think it was a very prestige brand but have lost all respect for the company
Got sent an email advertising special rates via Unmarketing. The link does not work since they sent out the email. Have tried at least 20 times all to no avail. Total waste of time and energy. I can understand site may have been overloaded but at 2am results were same
Was really disappointed with Richs. I've been a frequent customer since the day they opened. Have always had very favourable comments for them and mentioned them frequently to friends and associates. Today I feel totally let down. Complained about purchase of a box of butter croissants having a rancid smell. Not even a call or response to my complaint. What really embarrasses me is because I purchased 50, I passed some on to friends. Imagine what they must be thinking of me, passing on old food to them.
Safair does not care a damn about their customers. Stay away from them. Have a baggage claim where bag was damaged and jacket taken out of bag. Contacted Chubb who was the baggage insurer. They requested a report from Safair. Have submitted request with 4 follow-ups but not even an acknowledgement email From Safair. Use another airline as the small amount saved does not compare to the loss.
