A month ago I asked Stanley Tordiffe from Old Mutual to do an analysis of all my Old Mutual products, with the view to consolidate it, along with a quote for income protection. What followed was a shocking array of lies and incorrect information: He told me to consolidate my retirement annuities, I would have to pay capital gains tax - not true! I had to speak to him and pointed it out, then he said he's not sure, maybe he incorrect information. He pulled the analysis again and came back saying I was right, good thing I pointed it out, otherwise he would not have known. He quoted me for income protection which would only pay 2 months, instead of 14 years, until retirement. When I questioned him about it directly, he denied it and I had to mail him again, He then admitted that I was right and said good thing I pointed it out. 3rdly he told me that if I invest R2.5 with OM Wealth, I would pay no fund administration fees. I asked him about it a 2nd time and discovered that what he was actually saying, was that the max cost was R750, so if you invest more than R2.5m you don't pay extra fees, not that it will be free. The lies, deceit and incompetence of this snake astounding. I did not expect this from one of their advisers. Luckily I have a financial services background and was able to point this out, but I feel sorry for the next unsuspecting soul, being cheated like way. Their plumber plugged their lead into my garage plug and tripped the power. Then one of the guys said he was an electrician too and played with DB board, tripping the power about 10 more times, without checking there the problem was. This resulted in my inverter blowing up and they tell Santam they did nothing to cause it! Shocking!
I bought a washing machine from Northgate branch and they delivered it the next day, at the Exact time they stated. They were very friendly and efficient and then asked me if I want them to install it for me! They plugged it in, connected the water and balanced it, ready to use in 10 minutes It is a brilliant value add service, especially for a single mom and made my day!
I wanted to buy a painting at Decofurn in Montague Gardens. There were several paintings on the walls, but when I wanted to buy some, the staff said they had ZERO stock and couldn't give me a date for when the stock will arrive. They also then refused to sell me one on the wall. I spoke to Maureen and manager Allen, but just said that they can't help. I asked for the MD, they gave me his email address, but their server blocked my mail. Why on earth do you display things, which you are unable to sell or even provide a date for when it will be available? I drove all the way to your warehouse, the painting I wanted was on the wall, still wrapped in plastic, but I had to leave without it!!
I sent the mail below to Steers on 8 Feb and have had NO response! I ordered 4 Whacky Wednesday burgers on 7 Feb and they had RAW onions on them! I've never had raw onions on a Steers burger and it is frankly disgusting! Why did they have onions on them? Also, I would like to know why 2 burgers are R59, but 4 with a large chips is R199? The chips' price is only R40, so it should only be R160? I HOPE SOMEONE CHECKS THEIR SOCIAL MEDIA
I have been mailing them since 11 December regarding a claims query. Nobody got back to me for a month! Eventually on the 9th I get a mail asking me to rate their service - i.e. for doing nothing!! Yesterday Eddie Pillay from client service phones me due to my low rating. He was extremely rude and argumentive and talked so much, over me, that I couldn't even explain the issue to him. He was one of the rudest, snottiest people I've ever encountered! He should find himself another role - he should not go anywhere near speaking to a customer. And stop talking so much in general!! Shut up and listen to your clients - listening is an important skill!
I went to Bright's Plattekloof yesterday looking for some plumbing parts. Kenneth Oliver came over and gave us the best advice! He spent quite a bit of time with us, giving us options we didn't even ask about because we didn't know about it. Brights is quite a bit further from my house than a competitor, but I choose you every time because of your excellent customer service. We also had such a pleasant experience with Alex at till 1, he was also extremely helpful and very friendly and have a wonderful sense of humour We left there in high spirits! These guys should both get best staff awards! Who knew a trip to a hardware store could be fun
How does it take more than an hour to make a few plates of sushi?! 3rd time this happens! And 1 waitress for the whole restaurant, 22 people? Thai food is divine! Stick to that!
Bought a TV from them 18 months ago and it is still under full warranty It stopped working last week and I logged a complaint on 8 Feb - today 17 Feb, nobody has bothered to get back to us, we just received an automated email with a very unprofessional looking note I will never buy anything from this online shop again!
Yesterday Ncedo Nduvana came to our house on a call out to investigate our slow internet speed and wi-fi inconsistency problems. He really went above and beyond to resolve the problem! His commitment and dedication to assist his client is brilliant. His service has made me a loyal Vox client.
