The place has deteriorated. I was allocated a room that smelled of sewerage. I called housekeeping to bring freshener at 7 pm, I had to call back at 10 pm for the same request. The smell was so bad that I was moved to another room. Everything in the room is just falling apart. The food in the restaurant is beyond any star-rating, i.e., no star rating can be given. I ordered room service at 3 pm, by 6 pm they forgot about my order! Imagine. When I report it to the Manager, he simply indicated to me that it was my fault that I did not take down the name of the person who took the order, yet I called the restaurant. They must certainly know who operates the orders!! This hotel used to be high on my list of recommendations, now its just a backyard guesthouse with no standards, no class, no service! Nothing. Just avoid it, unless you favour frustration!
Very professional service advisors who are quite knowledgeable about their products and insights how explain our policies to us. Quite impressed with the prompt service.
This morning I opened my salary advise. There it is - an ******* deduction from my salary in the name of Legal Wise. I never took any policy from them. Where did they even get my employee number? How did they manage this? And all the numbers on their website are not working. Sending them an email they will send a response that they will call after three days. What is this? This is ***** at its best.
Promises and lies! That's all that they are about! Paras C, has not sent me so many e-mails to confirm that my 3-night stay has been credited! To date, since I stayed at the beginning of May at a Pretoria Hotel in Midrand, no credits! And they don't bother to respond with actual proof. Just hush-hush "it's credited don't stress"... I still have no credits!
Graceland Peermont, Secunda. For the huge amount I paid per night, I got a room with furniture that is broken and scratched and simply wobbly. I got a bathroom with a bath/shower, and as a person with disability, they could not provide me with a shower only! Imagine a person with a disability having to climb in an out of a bath to shower! The heater (aircon) is so outdated, I had to call maintenance every night to come and switch it on in the ceiling before it could work (kick-start is a better word!). The room phone was not working. The breakfast was horrible, the eggs were swimming in oil, the potatoes were so dried out and the mince was over-salted - the rest was not edible at all, and the service in the restaurant leaves much to be desired! The hotel infrastructure is old and in need of serious repair and paint! There was no porter and I had to push to luggage trolley myself. I am very disappointed in the quality and service of this hotel given to amount one paid for a supposed to be four-start hotel!
Very disappointed! The hotel did not credit a 3-night stay on my Marriott Bonvoy, even though through e-mails they confirmed that I have been credited the stay. Since then I tried contacting Ms Lilian Makgakga and Midrand Protea Hotel where I stay in May 2023, but my e-mails are ignored and no responses are received!
Load-shedding happens at around 11pm. For a 5-star hotel I’d expect generator backup. No, the room was engulfed with pitch black darkness, for the full 2 hours. No flashlight or candle. The wall plug to charge the phone is on the opposite corner of the bed, so now I had to search for my phone in pitch black darkness! Imagine how scary this is! Then there’s no phone signal, no WiFi signal! Who do one call because their bedside phone ain’t working! Extremely disappointed. Then, the food lets a lot to be desired. I was famished at dinner not having eaten the whole day, so I was testing a lot of their food choices at buffet The fish was raw inside, the roast lamb was rather boiled lamb, the vegetables were so much steamed that it became mash, the Greek salad was not fresh, the cake was extremely dry, and when I asked for some ice cream to at least eat the cake I’m told that if it’s not on the buffet table...well bad luck! I woke at 5am and found the TV not working, no answer at reception for a full 30 minutes! Basics are very important, especially if you market yourself as a 5-star hotel! Don’t be fooled. I was impressed when I walked into the hotel lobby and expected perfect service, it’s no use, the service is 0-star!
Meerkat Insurance is a scam. Who gives an insurance the right to cancel a policy without the consent of the policy holder, based on their "feelings" that perhaps a person did not open the policy him/herself. Imagine, paying for a policy through debit order and then they tell you "we cancelled the policy because we are not sure if you know that you have a policy". Pure ridiculousness. I have never seen such incompetence. The Insurance Ombudsman will hear about this too.
Poor service. For more than a week now I’m trying to get a settlement quotation. I’ve sent about 10 mails to Princess Mogapi and Sibonginkosi Nkosi. She’s not responding. I tried calling at different hours of the day for two weeks now, the numbers ring for 45 minutes and beyond. Once my matter is solved, perhaps then I can remove this post, otherwise, the rating and review stays. Bayport in general has a very poor service. I wish to settle the account, but it seems they don’t want it to be settled so that they can add interest forever. Where do one complain, because even the complaint line rings forever on end.
The Kedar Country Lodge in Rustenburg service has tremendously regressed. The surroundings and gardens are unkept. The rooms are so dirty, dust gathered for days, spiderwebs all over, let alone the occasional snake coming into the room, and the monkeys running wild. Lighting to go to rooms are so bad, one cannot see the wild animals lurking in the bushes. The bathrooms in the rooms - uncleaned soapscum that has gathered over time, the showers are in a very bad condition - I could not even wash in it if I put shoes on my feet first! The furtniture is old and and bed's mattresses are worn out. The service in the restaurant is just bad, let alone the horrible food, I had a stomach run for days eating lunch there, and at the conference, the scones were older than my grandmother, they were rock hard, and the coffee is just water with colour in it, no taste at all. I used to stay there a lot few years ago and it was relatively good, but now my recent visit was a cultural shock actually the way everything regressed. Never again!
