Exceptional service received from Madeleine Furstenberg, who took my call relating to my online purchase. Friendly, professional, and efficient - a breath of fresh air. Resolved my query within minutes.
I have been shopping through Takealot's website for several years, often multiple times in a month, and it's time I acknowledged that they are awesome. Only on very rare occasions is there a hiccup with their delivery - usually rectified swiftly - and their returns policy/service is simply the best. I have had a couple of issues with products - issues which I could just as easily had if I had bought the products elsewhere - but it's an easy process to log a return on their website, and these orders have been collected and replaced without fuss (unlike a couple of other online retailers I could mention, their 'luxe' sister company included!). I suspect that the negative index on HelloPeter stems from a very small percentage of their customers who haven't had a great experience; people are very quick to take to the media when they are disgruntled, and very slow to take the time to acknowledge amazing service.
Exceptional service received from Kobus and Marinda at Blind Guys Strand - and a beautiful blind delivered and professionally installed. Highly recommended.
Fragrance Deliver SA's product is not original, not authentic - just cheap and nasty knock-offs. Don't be fooled by the numerous positive reviews on their website or on HelloPeter - these are just as fake as their products. Their returns policy requires fragrances to be unopened (how can one ascertain whether the fragrance is genuine or not without opening?); they reserve the right to approve or reject a refund; and they will charge a handling fee of R120 plus courier fees (by which time I may as well have just purchased a genuine product). When I said I would expose them on social media, I was accused of blackmail and being unprofessional. Don't waste your money.
Fragrance Deliver SA claims that the products they sell are 'parallel imports' - by definition, parallel imports are original fragrances, which theirs are certainly not. Disappointingly, the fragrances they offer are cheap imitations, delivered in even cheaper packaging (which they claim is due to the packaging being 'older, because designs are improved frequently) - and they smell like cheap air freshener. When challenged, they maintained that their fragrances 'have batch codes' - which means nothing. Don't bother with attempting to secure a refund - you are required to return the product at your own expense, in it's original, unopened state (how are you supposed to ascertain whether it's genuine?) and they deduct handling charges and 'initial courier charges'. Their reviews on their website and on HelloPeter are as fake as their perfume. When I advised them that I would be exposing them on social media, I was accused of blackmail and being unprofessional, which only serves to highlight their shortcomings. Save your money.
From the time I purchase my Yoco machine, some two years ago, to today, their customer service has been phenomenal. Their online live chat facility is always super-helpful - today's interaction with Charmaine was of the same exceptional standard. Yoco has been a Godsend to a small business like mine - and I have recently purchased a second machine for another small business start-up!
Outstanding customer service, from the professional and knowledgeable advice from Chris, to the perfect installation executed by Desmond and Peter, and the client follow-up from Frachia. We are thrilled with our new fireplace and highly recommend the GC Fires team. (Shout out too to the SA suppliers of the Charnwood fireplace range - awesome product!)
Useless call centre - I've dialled in four times over nearly two hours - I get kept holding ('...one of our skilled consultants will attend to your query shortly...') - after 20 minutes-odd, it clicks over to '...sorry, the mailbox for the number you have dialled is full...' Each time I dial in, I have to listen to a load of gumphfff relating to their service - I can probably recite it in my sleep - but I am no further to resolving my query. The website provides NO email addresses - I've been referred to their ChatBot and their WhatsApp service - both of which return 'I don't understand your question'. Will never make the 'Best Businesses' List. I wouldn't be surprised if they receive an premium from Telkom on incoming calls.
Their call centre is without question the worst I have ever encountered. Their operators are ill-informed, obstructive, and for the most part unintelligible. I have two queries that I need to resolve, but my emails have not been responded to, and their call centre clearly make it their business to block enquiries.
Just got off the phone with SARS Help Desk - I was supposed to be given an opportunity to rate my experience, but the phone line went dead, so I thought I would rate it here. I spoke to a wonderfully patient, hugely knowledgeable lady named Carla, who was able to assist with every issue and query I had. Paying tax is nobody's favourite pastime, but when the process is facilitated by someone who is clearly interested and invested (and knows what they are talking about!), I am a lot more sanguine about paying SARS their portion of my hard earned salary. Kudos to them!
