I app**** for the Team Leader position at Hollywoodbets in Cape Town and was initially excited when Nomthandazo, a recruiter from the company, called to discuss which branch would be most suitable for me. She mentioned several vacancies, including Parow and other branches, and I chose Waterfront based on her guidance. I then received an email stating that interview invites for 11 and 12 September were duplicated and that new invites would be sent. I waited patiently and followed up multiple times, but as of 11 December, I have still not received any updated invite. Nomthandazo ignored all my follow-up emails, despite having raised my hopes. She even encouraged me to bring along a former colleague who also qualified for the role. We were both unemployed and eager to secure this opportunity. As job seekers, we spent our limited resources going to Internet cafés just to follow up, only to realize that our time, effort, and hopes were being toyed with. This experience has been extremely unprofessional, misleading, and disrespectful to applicants. I hope sharing this helps others approach Hollywoodbets’ recruitment process with caution and encourages the company to handle future recruitment responsibly.
Makro has shown me nothing but incompetence and disrespect. I placed an order on 1 December, and the system said delivery would only happen on the 4th. Already that was a problem because I DO NOT live in Cape Town, I was only visiting. To fix the issue, I took an Uber and went straight to the store. When I got there, they flat-out refused to give me my order. I explained more than once that I was flying back to Johannesburg the next morning at 5am. It didn’t matter, the online assistant manager still refused and acted like she couldn’t care less. We then agreed the order would be cancelled and I would get a refund. Instead of refunding me, Makro keeps sending couriers to deliver a parcel to a city I DO NOT live in. I made this clear from day one. Today is 11 December, and I am STILL sitting with no refund. Ten days later, and Makro still can’t do something as simple as return my money. This is honestly pathetic. I am sick and tired of the runaround. I want my money back NOW — not tomorrow, not next week. Makro must stop wasting my time and fix this immediately.
I am extremely disappointed with the Department of Labour’s UIF services. I requested my 3rd UIF payment on the 1st of October 2025, and to this day (29th of October 2025) I have not received any SMS, payment, or proper update. I personally went to the branch on the 14th of October, where I was told to wait 10 working days. It’s now well over that period, yet my online status still shows “submitted” instead of “payment reserved.” This delay has caused me serious hardship — I haven’t even been able to pay my rent. I contributed monthly to UIF with the expectation that the fund would support me when I needed it most, but instead, I feel ignored and helpless. All I’m asking for is transparency and urgency. I app**** online for my uif and until now I still have not received any text from the department. I specifically chose the branch in Cape Town. It's towards month end now and I need to pay rent. Whe. I check online, it says there's no approved application for benefits yet I long submitted all my documents. When I call them, nobody picks up the phone. I lost my phone on Sunday around 2am and when I went to the store in Bayside they told me they can't do a Sim swop for me because the system shows that my number has been deleted and I must contact the customer Care line, I went to Table bay and they told me that it does show on the system that my number has been active and is not supposed to be deleted. They said I must contact the customer care line which is 082135 which I did. I spoke to a guy named Collin and he told me there's nothing he can do and then I asked to talk to the manager by the name of Siphesihle and she escalated the matter. They say they can't help me, there's nothing they can do. I can't access anything and I'm a job seeker, my cv has my number. I can't access my Gmail as it is linked on my number and my social networks as well. I am frustrated and depressed right now. I need my number back ASAP to access my school work as well as I'm an online student
I still have not received any feedback from this company yet they are removing my complaint and I am stuck with debt review which I never gave consent to
This company has put me on debt review without my consent and when I call them, nobody knows about it. My life is stuck because of THEM.
This company put me under debt review which I never app**** for. I tried contacting them to request a contract that I signed which proves that I app**** because I never did but until today they have never sent anything while my life is on hold because of them
They have switched off my Internet for almost a week now for their own selfish reasons and nobody is willing to assist me, now they are avoiding my emails while my work is on standstill. I pay them every month without fail yet they don't care about me as a client
Picknpay in Waterfront has not paid me my money and I've been writing here many times than once. They made me pay for stuff that they didn't have when I was buying online
