I must warn potential future clients to be careful in choosing Hollard for home insurance. It's a pity I have to give one Star. I would like to have given Minus 100. I had a storm damage claim in May 2025 heavy rains and registered a claim immediately. Hollard then decided to then send an Assessor who came close to 2 months later to assess the damage. I asked if he was a certified Civil engineer and his reply was No. How can Hollard send a person that's not in the field of engineering to do a engineering report? This Assessor from the start seemed very biased and unprofessional how it seems like discriminates against certain type of clients. He had the report and quote from a proper registered company with all the accreditation in building and civil engineering 100% BEE company that I asked with the instructions from Bay Union who wanted me to do a quote. The Assessor then decided to send his friends company who when I asked if he was a Civil engineer rep**** that he is an Electrician. That itself shows more biased from this Assessor. The company Surburbs Investments which I was told is a building construction company sends a quote which only has a PO box number and no premises and company registration number. No did it have any building accreditation number either. It seems like Hollard doesn't do proper vetting of the companies they have on there data base. I then found out that this Assessor friend's company operates from a little place in a business park. The Assessor also does not have a business address which I requested but got no response from Tyra Hartze from Bay Union. The report from this construction company has some many contradictions as well. They stated that the damage is from a drainage pipe that's bust underground but no proof of that whatsoever because he didn't dig up to see. Then he state's that even if repaired by them they cannot guarantee that it won't happen again. That in itself says they cannot be a very good company 🤔 That's what you get from an "ELECTRICAN" doing a Civil Engineering report. There was so many things and contradicting done by this Assessor and his friend to mention in this review. I have records of over 68 emails with no proper response from my broker Bay Union who themselves should have asked for a meeting with this biased Assessor and his friends face to face to my question.

This Assessor was a very biased person and I think ************** against certain type of clients which Hollard seems to accept. Hollard still has not given no proper explanation of how a person with no Civil Engineering certificate can do this report. To me it seems like Hollard does not do proper vetting of the suppliers or it's just that they don't care and discriminate certain color. I give a report from a proper 100% BEE company and it seems like they don't support that either. Also I must point out the quote was lower. That should be questioned and investigated why the bais Assessor friend company was preferred when his quote was about 30% more. The Suburbs Investment report was also with some many contradictions where one of the examples the"Electrican" making assumptions without even digging up and looking under Paving saying a drainage pipe is leaking when there is no proof. Then when I asked Bay Union for the Assessor report I am told that it's the property of Hollard which in itself is a joke. If there is nothing to hide show me. Then the Assessor sends his friend to to do a report. (Surburbs Investments) The person that came to do this report when I asked if he is a Civil Engineer I am told he is an electrician. I searched this company and found they operate from a small little factory block with small businesses. I asked for Accreditation from this company. I asked Bay Union to check for a company registration number and Building organization accreditation. This has been going with these requests for close to 10 weeks now.
This company was sent by his friend who is an Assessor sent from Hollard. The person that came to do a Civil Engineering report I found out is an Electrician and not a Civil engineer but Hollard excepted the report. On the report sent is only a Postal box. No address or accreditation number with any building organization.
Hi. I want to take this time to thank 3 wonderful people at Bay Union Insurance Brokers. First of all a big Thank You to Mechelle Pillay for helping me with an inquiry where I didn't even know that I was covered for a boating incident that happen a few weeks ago. I lost my Vision glasses and water damaged my camera. Mechelle sent an email to Avisha Dayaram who her self was very helpful and in that same day contacted me via email and on top of that sent me a claim form and also informed me I was covered for these 2 items.i Then I think Avisha was off work for a few days and even then she did not forget about my claim because I was contacted by Roxann Roy who again was a very helpful Lady who sorted and settled my claim in a couple of days and the amount was paid into my banking account hassle free.. I have been with this company about over 30 years and will highly recommend Bay Union Insurance Brokers. I have not had any hassles on any occasion where a claim was not settled as long as an explanation is given on how the loss occurred. So THANK YOU all 3 Ladies mentioned in this review. 1000% rating to all 3 of you.
Telkom SA Chatsworth branch are doing a lot of ******* things. They RICA Sim cards on your ID without asking you and then when you do find out and go to the branch to inquire the Manager says he will have it removed. He doesn't fit to be in Management because he himself doesn't know his job. You then find out that it it is still on your name and go back again and this Idiot promises he will look into it. Now I have gone there over 5 times and nothing from these USELESS CLOWNS. Anyone out there got suggestions of who I can contact to charge Telkom for doing ******* things like this. This is how ********s get Sim cards and the police cannot trace them.
I would not even give this company a one star if the system didn't pick it. I just want people to not believe what this company says in its advertising. First of all they did a quote in my vehicle and complete household contents and building and the quote was more 2,5 (two hundred and fifty percent) more then my current insurance provider. Then I sent in the claim where they say they will pay R500 to R1500 for when they cannot beat the quote. I qualifed for R1500 because I was cliam free. Sent in all the information more then 6 weeks ago and nothing happened. That tells me it's all lies.
This has become the most pathetic and useless Bank recently. How they get awards is amazing to say the least. They only interested with charging fee's for just about anything. They do not protect your money at all. They also make no attempt to recover funds but are ready to charge for things they don't even do. Stay away from this USELESS pathetic bank. I would mot even give them a quarter star if I could. The review doesn't give the option. 😤😤😤😤😤😤😤😤😤
Telkom Chatsworth branch are the most useless pathetic bunch of people that work there. Got in there 5 times for the same issue and told it will be sorted. Wait a month and nothing is done because have same problem again and again. Also watch out for Telkom staff having to reach targets to hand out so cards and you are not told but they R. I. C. A. the cards themselves and don't tell the customer. PATHETIC is an understatement for this branch. 😤😤😤😤😤😤😤😤😤😤😤😤😤😤😤😤
This is one of the worst companies to deal with. They have no clue of how to manage accounts. The have people that work there don't know or have a clue of how to check on there systems where the problems are. I give them bank statement dates of payment's that where done way in advance and still they don't know what to do because only a supervisor can get into that. Asked for a supervisor then to call me and now waiting for close to 2 weeks and nothing from this USELESS pathetic company.
Hi. I would like to put on record the Great and Excellent service received from Ms Alecia Shabangu from my insurance broker Bay Union Insurance Brokers (JACANA). What a bubbly personality and always willing to help attitude from her. She handled my claim and constantly kept me informed with the progress and payment. Outstanding I must say. Deserves a Promotion.
