WE SHOP AT BERLINER EVERY WEEK AND HAVE BEEN BUYING THEIR BELGIUM CHOCOLATE GANACHE CHEESE CAKE. I NOTICED THAT THE LAST LOT WE BOUGHT WAS A LOT THINNER AND NOT AS DENSE AS THE PREVIUOS BATCH THAT WE BOUGHT. I MENTIONED THIS TO A STAFF MEMBER WHO FEIGNED " I DONT KNOW". SHE SAID SHE WOULD TELL MANAGEMENT. ON MY NEXT VISIT THE SAME HAPPENED. COMPARED TO THE OTHER CAKES MADE BY THE SAME SUPPLIER ON OFFER THIS WAS MUCH THINNER. I AGAIN COMPLAINED AND TOLD THE STAFF MEMNBER WHY IS THAT THE CAKE IS MUCH THINNER AND YET YOU ARE CHARGING THE SAME PRICE. AGAIN THE FEIGNED SHOULDER SHRUG. I FIND IT INCREDULOUS THAT THEY DO NOT TAKE THESE COMPLAINTS SERIOUSLY NOR APPROACH THEIR SUPPLIER ABOUT THESE COMPLAINTS. MAYBE THEY ARE HAPPY TO JUST RIP OFF THE CONSUMER WITH AN INFLATED PRICE!!!!!!
I TRIED CALLING RCS AND AS PER USUAL WAS KEPT HANGING ON FOR AGES!!!! I THEN DROVE TO MAKRO TO TRY AND RESOLVE MY PROBLEM. MAKRO WAS VERY HELPFUL AND GOT RCS ON THE LINE. I SPOKE TO A ONE CHARLTON WHO TOLD ME I COULD DO WHAT I WANT AND THAT HE WAS NOT GOING TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT MY QUERY AS IT WAS STIPULATED IN AN AGREEMENT. I THEN ASKED THEM TO PHONE AGAIN AND ASK FOR THE SUPERVISOR. THE LADY ON THE LINE WAS AYANDA WHO KEPT INSISTING THAT I SHOULD TALK TO HER AND NOT THE SUPERVISOR. AFTER A LOND DEBATE SHE CAME BACK TO ME AND SAID PRUDENCE WHO IS THE SUPERVISOR WAS BUSY AND COULDNT TALK TO ME. SHE THEN STATED THAT THEY WILL GET THE SUPERVISOR TO CALL ME BACK. SO I ASKED WHAT NUMBER DOES SHE HAVE TO CALL ME BACK AND IT QUICKLY DAWNED THAT SHE DID NOT HAVE A NUMBER AND WAS CLEARLY FOBBING ME OFF. AFTER GIVING MY NUMBER SHE SAID I WOULD BE CALLED IMMEDIATELY. SO HELLOOOOOOOO 24 HOURS LATER AND NO CALL FROM RCS. ALL I CAN SAY IS I AM NOT HAPPY AND THIS IS NOT DOING THE REPUTATION OF MAKRO ANY GOOD AT ALL.
WE WERE STANDING IN THE QUEUE WAITING TO BE SERVED AND AS THE ONE PHARMACIST FINISHED WITH HER CUSTOMER SHE DECIDED TO HAVE A FRIENDLY CHAT WITH THIS CUSTOMER WHICH LASTED ABOUT 15 MINUTES ABOUT A DENTIST APPOINTMENT THE CUSTOMER HAD. ALL THE OTHER CUSTOMERS WERE IGNORED AND THE TWO CARRIED ON CHATTING AND LAUGHING. I BROUGHT THIS TO THE STORE MANAGERS ATTENTION - A LADY - WHO LOOKED PERPLEXED AND DID ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ABOUT IT. WELL DONE CLICKS GTREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE AND RETENTION.
MY WIFE BOUGHT A XMAS TREE THE FRIDAY. THE SATURDAY WE TRIED PUTTING UP THIS CHINESE PRODUCT AND IT COULDNT STAND. ON TRYING TO RETURN IT THEY INSISTED THAT SHE TAKE ANOTHER BUT ON PRIOR INSPECTION THEY ALL LOOKED WONKY. SHE INDICATED THAT SHE IS PREPARED TO TAKE SOMETHING ELSE FOR THE SAME VALUE. THEY REFUSED. I CONFRONTED THEM AND DEMANDED MY MONEY BACK. THEY INDICATED THAT IT MUST BE RETURNED WITHIN TWO DAYS - WHICH IT WAS - AND THEY STILL REFUSED. HE THEN SHOWED ME THAT THEY DO NOT DO CASH REFUNDS. AFTER A HUGE ARGUMENT THEY DID RETURN SOME OF THE MONEY. THE RIGHT TO RETURN GOODS AS STIPULATED: Applicable sections of the Consumer Protection Act, 68 of 2008: S 16, 19 (5) & (8), 20, 55 (3), 56 A consumer has various rights of return in terms of the Consumer Protection Act. The five instances where a consumer may return goods to the supplier are: Unsafe or defective goods may be returned for a repair, replacement or refund within 6 months of delivery. The consumer may choose whether he wants the item repaired, replaced or receive a refund. If the consumer allows the supplier to repair, then the repair must last for at least three months. If the same fault re-appears or another defect appears within three months of the repair being effected, then the supplier must choose whether to replace the item or refund the consumer. At this stage, a further repair is not an available option. (See the section titled “Six month implied warranty” for more details.)
THE NEW MANAGER AYANDE IS AN ABSOLUTE STAR IN HOW FAR HE IS PREPARED TO GO TO HELP. I NEEDED ADDITIONAL LIGHTS WHICH I HAD BOUGHT AT BUILDERS RIVONIA AND THEY COULD NOT SOURCE THEM. HE DID!!!!!! I KEPT BEEN TOLD THAT THE SUPPLIER HAS NOT DELIVERED - LIGHT WORX - AND GIVEN THE RUN AROUND AS WE NEEDED EXTRA LIGHT FITTINGS TO COMPLETE THE PROJECT. HE FOUND THEM AND IS SOURCING MORE AS WE HAVE EXPANDED OUR NEED. THANKS AYANDE IT IS GREAT DOING BUSINESS WITH YOU AND I WILL IN FUTURE COME TO YOUR STORE.
My wife took a comforter in to be laundered. They quoted her R 250.00 up from R 150.00 the previous occasion. On confronting the lady with the cost she was just ignored. Take it leave it attitude. She stated that the price was virtually the cost of buying a new comforter and was again looked upon with disdain. I phoned the H/O who took our details and two weeks later after promising to contact us we have never been contacted. How is that for customer service and ripping off the consumer during Covid!!!!
I buy raw peanuts to feed my garden birds. In March of this year they priced the raw peanuts at 69.99. In April they increased the price to 79.99. In May they increased the price to 89.99 and so forth. It may have increased again. On confronting the store manager he took my details and said H/O would be in contact. This was In May. To date NOTHING!!!!! He tried to blame the price increases on the supplier, so I suggested that they should consider the consumer and source another supplier.
What a rude company to deal with. Once you question a price you are verbally attacked by saying that is their price take it or leave it. Then on phoning around they are nearly double the price of their opposition in the area. WOW!!!!!!!
Shocking customer relations!!!!!! After receiving a written quote for decking plank I went to collect and they supplied warped and joined plank which cannot be used in the bush at Kruger Park. After complaining they then insisted that if I dont take that plank then I must buy a bundle of plank which was way more than the original quote and much more plank than i required. I then asked for a refund which they gave. It is astounding to think that a hardware supplier expects a consumer to accept warped and joined plank because they do not want to break up a bundle!!!!!!!!!
They fitted toilets at a reasonable price about 6 months ago and on phoning to come and rectify a small problem they were only to keen to assist at no extra charge even though this fell outside of their workmanship guarantee. Very reliable and I can recommend them.
