I've been using axxess for 17 years, they're good for internet connectivity and personal email addresses. I very seldom have issues. BUT THEY ARE NOT suitable for hosting. If it's internet access you need then great, but don't take a chance with your website and business emails.
Stay away from Afrihost, they are not a hosting company, they are an ISP (Internet service provider). If you want poor website performance, bad service and security threats to your website then by all means use them.
Against my advice, a client recently moved his website and emails to Vox Telecom Hosting. To say that their products and service for hosting is below global standards is an overstatement. I've been hosting websites for 15 years and Vox is probably the worst kind of hosting company one could pay for. The client's site was down for a week (Vox was supposed to migrate the site for the client), Vox hosting support (who take no less than 3 days to respond to each query) wasn't sure which package the client had bought (although they sent me to 3 different Vox servers to try and get the site up). On the 4th try they informed me we would have to take out "Managed Wordpress Hosting" - a server which the client was not allowed to access - and would have to use plugins to access any website files on the server (a huge security risk). Apart from this emails were intermittent, no help files exist, so for every query one has to wait 3 days - it's been almost two months and the site still isn't working and isn't secure as it should be. Avoid Vox website hosting at all costs.
Uber Eats keeps allowing restaurants to provide false advertising on their app. Curry Up restaurtant in Johannesburg have been claiming for over a year now that if you buy one meal you'll get one free, this is a blatant lie. There is no contact details for Uber Eats save for a call line which never works. How does Uber police their app for fraudsters? Look at the Curry Up reviews online - how is this business still on Uber Eats?
Stay away from this place - dodgy exploitation. They offer trial periods with promises of permanent employment but don't fulfil their agreement regardless of whether they're happy with your work. They don't issue payslips showing UIF, tax deductions, or leave due. They say no one has leave due. If you're sick and you provide a doctor's note - you don't get paid for the time off sick. You work 6 days a week, 8 hours a day with no breaks if the restaurant is busy. No transport arrangements for staff after closure at 11:30pm (or monies provided for transport). No staff meals allowed. Certain staff have had their salary withheld if it's known that person wants to leave. Staff are scared of being victmised by the owner Tracey Burke or fired if they protest.
Avoid Avast at all costs. There is no way to opt out of future payments to them. Even if you uninstall their products and delete your account with them, they'll still try to debit your bank card. The only way to get any resolution is through their online chat, there are no contact details for anyone to address your concerns, they say no contact details exists for Avast ZA. Worst bunch of con artists I've ever come across!
I'm extremely happy with the Swiss SVAC ROB2200 vacuum cleaner. I bought it in May 2020. For years I looked for a reliable, sturdy vacuum cleaner with a powerful motor, I tried all the prominent brands, this unit is way above the others in this niche with regards to design, parts strength, ruggedness and quality - worth the price. Contacting the company is also a pleasure, Susan provided detailed guidance and advice and replied via email as promised! -Very satisfied overall.
We recently upgraded our legacy PBX to a cloud-based system, it was scary to say the least. Lindi and Leon did an outstanding job of setting up and training our staff. a big thank you for making it so easy to understand and for putting up with all our questions!
I've asked axxess.co.za (The ISP) 3 times to unlock / transfer a .com domain to a new ISP. I have done this via the normal means (Submitting a ticket and waiting for a confirmation email) and have telephonically called axxess support, who have assured me the domain has been unlocked. It's been 3 months and I still can't transfer the domain. I've checked all the email addresses associated with the domain, no confirmation/acceptance email has been sent. I am now out of options. The domain owner whom I'm assisting, has threatened to not do business with me in future, so it is/has/ and may affect me financially. I am all paid up with Axxess, there are no outstanding invoices on this domain. Recently axxess updated their CPanel without telling their clients, 3 of my websites and their email accounts failed, when trying to get assistance, they simply didn't respond. I'v moved all my domains save this particular one which I they won't (or can't) unlock. Axxess are a consumer internet and personal email ISP - don't ever try to use them for hosting.
Super service and knowledge - kept me in the loop with my repair throughout the process. Will definately refer.
