Recently I needed to renew my SA passport. In thoday's digital age I tried to do it online. It is very confusing as some sites say you can't do it online. I tried and filled the details as requested. After that I pressed the Submit and received Error message. Can't do it as I am not born South African. Can't this be said before hand? OK, after over 50 years being South African I realised thet I am second class citizen, although there is no problem with me paying taxes. I went to Roodepoort home affairs and all went nice and smooth since their policy of expediting senior citizens, however their security is only applicable once you are inside their property. There are ********s intimidating you in front of their fence and demanding parking fee of up to R400. I think the department should control this ******** activities.
In December 2023 I got AC Direct to install in my house an airconditioner. Everything went well and Alvaro and his team have done very neat installation. In December 2024 I again requested a quotation for identical installation. They insisted on 100% pay before the job starting. Since I had a good experience with the previous job I paid the full amount without hesitation. They took their time but eventually did arive and delivered the material. They mounted the outdoor and indoor parts. I received another quotation for additions, which amounted to another two thirds of the original quotation. The original quotation was shoddy and did not stipulate the additional cost of the piping and electrical cables. Usually this is stipulated as an additional price over the say 3m. The additional price was exorbitant and should have been part of the original quotation. They have never inspected the site beforehand. After some correspondence it was clear to me that they sent me incomplete quote and tried to bully me into accepting their additional quote.
Why are they hiding behind mindeless talk. Start listening instead of self advertising!!!
Suddenly my PC decided to test my patience. Could not open the Outlook and I had no idea why asking me for password. Phoned Telkom and got a gentleman who was quick to understand my problem and instead of any excuses did help me with a pasword which fixed the problem. Refreshing experience.
About a week ago I tried to help a friend with a new SIM card for roaming in Australia. I was braced for lots of bureaucracy, so my experience was even more appreciated. I was attended at the centre by two ladies which went out of their way to help me. In no time I had a new SIM card which I sent over to Australia. What a refreshing experience. Thanks.
I live across from Leroy. Needed some Nylon lace rope. Advertised for R16, which is good price. Couldn't find it in the sore so ask the attendant. He had a look at the product and foud out that it is available only ONLINE. I understand that something like generator or other large appliance is Online. However packet of *****s, nuts or 2mm rope is a buy for sudden need while working. On top of it you need to wait 2-5 days and can't fetch it in the store. So the result is to stop your project, get it delivered at R50. Result is R16 article for R 66. Not making sense!
Recently I had to change the burned ot lamp in cooking extractor. Tried everywhere, but no joy. Zebbies advertised it with "Free Delivery". I took my chance and what a pleasant surprize. Correct item, excellent price and free delivery within one day. Well done Zebbies!
Recently I had problem with Mercedes safety belt retracting. The Autotronics guys at Little Falls did help me - simple solution.
I required new dryer belt for old machine. Everyone was very helpful and knowledgeable.
