I was surprised when I checked HelloPeter and saw how many customers were having Lancet (Dr Mauaff) accounting system problems. Months old service bills are NOT being claimed from the medical aids, but merely demanded from customers; nasty text messages demand immediate payments; enquiries to a helpdesk are pointless because "we are experiencing increased volumes in our email"; then equally nasty debt collectors start calling with demands for payment. It is like talking to a deaf person.... explanations get ignored and the cycle starts all over again. Eventually a notification from the medical aid arrives (for the first time), reflecting a submitted claim and a payment authorisation (for a service rendered 3months before). Somebody woke up and realised that they had never submitted a medaid claim... however, accounts department starts the cycle ALL over AGAIN!!!. Customer must Pay or Else!! What a useless bunch... I shall strongly advise medical practitioners to use alternative labs in future.
Amazon is in SA!!! yay!!! I create an account. I put in a small R700 order to test the ordering and delivery process. I get verification emails and OTP numbers. It works. My order is in!! I do not logoff and come back to my computer a bit later. I try and see the status of the order. It jumps to the logon screen. I logon. I get: Account Locked. Your account has been locked for misuse of Amazon's services. We have sent you an email with additional information. About an hour later - still no email. Account still locked. Bye-Bye Amazon - I don't like Takealot much, but will continue to use them. Go back where you came from.
It is really quite pointless rating this useless bunch, because most complaints seem to come from consignees who didn't hire them in the first place. It is time the public down-rate distributers/senders who use this clown outfit. So here goes. Useless bunch number 2, the Motor Vehicle/Road Transport/NATIS use Skynet to courier vehicle licenses bought online. All seems quite professional, until the license papers/disc don't arrive. Tracking web site looks great, SMSes arrive about "Delivery TODAY", but later that night, after 20h00, the status is changed to "Not delivered - consignee not available". That, of course, is useless-speak for "we just didn't bother to deliver and there's nothing you can do or say about it". I can personally vouch (and so can my CCTV monitor feeds) that NOBODY attempted a delivery. And I can also prove that NO call/SMS etc was sent to attempt contact. Simply a case of "we are as useless as the people who use us". Anybody considering buying MV licenses online - DON'T!!! At least not until they start to use REAL couriers.
Upon receiving an email from the PP24 CEO, thanking customers for their support, I was wondering who the best PP24 customers are - the people who use them to pay or the beneficiaries who get paid. Up front, I've never had issues with their service. Always top class. However, a few months ago, when the new eskom tariffs were implemented, PP24 drove me crazy with emails about the importance to buy lots and lots of electricity in order to save in the longer term, since the increase was going to be HUGE. Like a typical consumer of news, I gathered the finances and bought a lot.... believe me, I mean a LOT!! Then, as a huge surprise, the increase at my local municipality (Mossel Bay) was really not significant, in fact, the price per unit went DOWN!! However, the brand new compulsory blanket MONTHLY LEVY on electricity provision that MB Municipality threw at ALL consumers, was the straw that p*** this camel off big time. So, in reality, instead of ME saving money, the municipality was the beneficiary of PP24's buy-now-and-buy-lots propaganda. I know life is a win-some-lose-some business, but I cannot stop wondering how much influence PP24 beneficiary-customers have over their business methods. I hope not a lot, because I really have no operational issues with them. Needless to say - I wont be using them to buy electricity for the next few years. :(
After reading 100s of complaints against this bunch on this site, I have come to the conclusion that takealot is a shady company (to put it mildly). Basically a customer selects items reflected as "In Stock", checks out and pays for the order. (high Rand value - Mine was more than R3000). Then, when the order is delivered, it contains ONLY 1 or more items of low value and totally unrelated (mine was 3 small packets of Coco-Pops!!) and NO SIGN OF THE EXPENSIVE ITEMS ACTUALLY ORDERED AND PAID FOR). The return options conveniently do not list "We are brain~less and sent the wrong stuff" and you are basically forced to select "Replace this item". (you have to do one of these for every item NOT received!!). Time goes by, collection is scheduled and eventually, 5 days later, the return lands back at the warehouse. Another brain~less operator sends an email advising you that your return is being evaluated. Another week later, yet another email advises you that the item is no longer available and your account has been credited towards another purchase. And this is only the 1st process repeated for ALL your NOT-DELIVERED items after days-and-days. Totally p****-off, you go to your account and select, "NO!! Refund that credit to my bank account, since I'll NEVER buy from you again" (after being a client for 12 years). And guess what, the message comes back, "Your refund request was declined". The bottom line, this bunch of poepols take your money, send you a box of coco-pops, sends emails back and forth, and weeks later refuse to give it back to you. They have been sitting with a few thousand Rand of my money for weeks and I have nothing to show for it. This scenario is repeated for many of the complaints on this site. There is a pattern. A pattern of being ripped of by ****mers seem to appear. Hurry up Amazon and destroy this mickey mouse outfit.. PLEASE!!!
After 3 hours trying to login to internet banking and getting a "There seems to be a problem on our side" error message, I called the helpdesk. I asked when internet banking would be available again and was told, "It is not down". After 30 minutes of listening to their music and advertising, I gave up. What a pathetic bunch !!!
Upon immediate PayFast payment (meaning they HAVE my money), they quoted a delivery date. 2 weeks later, another delivery date, 1 week further on, was reflected. This seems to be a weekly occurance.... "Not yet shipped".... delivery date moving forward by a week. How many times will this happen? Just moving a delivery date forward by a week every week?? Takealot went down the toilet the moment they started 3rd party selling. They don't care, they don't respond, they don't communicate. Seems they want the absolute monopoly on providing the worst possible 3rd world service. After almost R200k spent with them over the last years, I'm off somewhere else.
What was once a great company, a joy to deal with and a mail-order company to recommend to others, is turning into a sub-standard, typical South African, pretty useless, don't-care, ***** the customer, fat-cat organisation. Almost a week after their published delivery date, I had to contact them and remind them that the order status was a week old, delivery date still pointed a week into the past and that an R11k item was floating somewhere, undelivered and status-less. Once woken up from their couldn't-care-less slumber, the delivery date suddenly jumped a week ahead as if nothing had happened. This is NOT good enough Takealot - you guys are dropping the ball. Does client service no longer matter to your Chinese owned company?
Do not be fooled and misled by promises of new ownership and compensation for past undelivered / unfillfilled orders. Advertising emails are arriving almost daily, but no feedback or information is forthcoming regarding claims. Not saying they're still scammers like the previous lot, but be careful.
Same as everybody else. Confirmed item stock and price, into basket, checked out, PAID, delivery in 3 weeks. After 3 weeks followed up, "OUT OF STOCK", price increased by 80%. Requested a refund, didn't want a credit (got the item elsewhere - cheaper). End of story - no communication, request in "refund queue", silence, Covid-19 excuse for no telephone, no return of emails - nothing. A bunch of crooks financing their business with customer payments and not delivering anything.
