I took a contract out with Mr Price Mobile mid 2019. I did not always look at my debit order deductions, so I suspect for years, they charged me close to double what they should have. My contract was for R199 per month, but I would often get charged R300 or higher, with the most being R369. I do recall a few years ago (I'm unclear on the timelines because it was so long ago) calling them asking for this to be resolved, reminding them that I did not ask for a open contract, when the airtime or data is finished, they most not allow it to go over as additional billing. The phone is being used by my little niece and I also asked her to be more careful, if the data is up, she must not continue to go online etc. She said the phone does not even let her go online when the data is finished. The was also my experience of using the phone the first few months I had it before giving it to my niece, it would not let me go online if data etc was finished. Most of this happened over 2019, I reported the issue and they assured me it was resolved. I made the mistake of not continuing to monitor the debit orders after that. Last year the contract ended around July and the MrP Mobile team called me to renew, told me the data, minutes and many other benefits had been doubled and I continue to pay the same price and I get a new device. I agreed because of the online learning of lockdown. I renewed the contract and instructed the contract remain a closed one, it should never go above the agreed upon R199. Since last year September/October, I have been checking statements more regularly because money is tight, this lockdown has come with a lot of financial burdens. I noticed MrP Mobile have been charging me between R349 and R369. I realised they probably never resolved the issue even the first time I raised it with them in 2019. I could not reverse some of the debit orders because they were too old, but I reversed the 2 that I could, called them and asked them again to resolve this issue. Since communicating with them, they have continued with this weird billing, I have continued to reverse these debit orders. I do not reverse the R199 debit orders unless they bill them twice in one month, then I reverse one. Today they billed me different amounts which make up R1137 collectively. Zero communication, they just took the money. I called them frustrated to say they must cancel the contract and let me pay them what I owe them for the cellphone. It is a cheap cellphone any ways. They refused to assist, threatened me with penalties if I insist on cancelling. It seems like the recent request to make the contract a closed one also has not been actioned because I was told that the best way they can help me is make my contract a closed one (it should already be a closed one). At a different part of the conversation the lady, Parisha Naiker said the contract can't be made a closed contract, it is up to me to monitor my usage and make sure I don't go over. I told her this was dishonest and was never disclosed to me when I joined. It is also unreasonable because I got the contract for a child who might not be able to properly track her usage. She finally said she will cap the extra usage at R15 extra. I also said no to this, our agreement was R199 and I won't pay more. More importantly I called to cancel the contract because they were in breach of contract by billing me more than what was agreed on. She finally said she will escalate the issue to her manager. I asked her to cc me in the email, and she refused. MrP Mobile from statements I have access to has been charging me more than they should be from February 2021 when it was still even the old contract. But I suspect its been the entire period of the old contract as well as this new one, I just don't have access to all the old statements on my banking app anymore. The lack of service throughout the years when I have raised this issue and how Naiker kept changing the conditions to my contract over the phone and tried to force me to agree to things I was not comfortable agreeing with and would threaten not to assist me if I don't. All of it is very scammy, this is not how a legitimate company should treat it's clients. Naiker refused at some point to assist me if I did not agree to the remaining 17 month contract, she basically wanted me to retract my request to cancel. I had to tell her repeatedly that I cannot agree to that on a call I initially made to cancel the contract. I want out of this contract and will be escalating this issue to ICASA if I am not released from it ASAP without the penalties. I will pay what I owe for the phone, but that's it.
A few weeks ago I tested positive with COVID. It was really difficult getting medical attention living in Bloemfontein alone. There was either hostility and inefficiency when I dealt with various medical personal and institutions. Or I was treated like I’m not sick enough/ “making it up” when they would hear I’m fully vaccinated. But my symptoms were severe and the lack of care was making me depressed and my symptoms worse. This all turned around when I started dealing with the Langenhoven Park Dischem team. There was one particular lady who was handling the online/over the phone deliveries. I’m so sad now that I didn’t ask for her name because she was honestly so amazing. She wasn’t only great at doing her job and ensuring that things got delivered to me safely, quickly and effectively, there was also so much kindness and caring in her voice. She really touched me and I am so grateful to her. Thank you thank you thank you.
I just came from Pick ‘n Pay waterfront in Bloemfontein where I’ve just been verbally attacked by the ladies at the till and some of the other customers joined in. Kekeletso Booysen was the one helping me at the till. I asked for R300 cash back and she said she doesn’t have it. So I said please get it. This didn’t really sit well with her, but she starts shouting from her chair to her colleagues and eventually someone says they have. She says I must go to till 6, they have, but they insists I make two transactions, one at her till for the things I had just bought and another with her colleague at till 6 for the cash back. I say no, I want to make one transaction. I didn’t tell her this, but my bank charges for these transactions, but I don’t think I should have to explain all of this to her. I wait for the customer that was busy at till 6 to finish and I push my bag towards the lady sitting on that till because I had been standing there a while and she hadn’t yet acknowledged me. She turns and yells at me, saying she’s not finished with the customer. I say it’s fine, I explained that I just came from Booysen’s till. She carries on yelling and then proceeds to try aggravate the customers to also shout at me. The customer who was in front leaves and says he doesn’t want to get involved, I even apologized to him. I move around to where he was standing. The lady refuses to help me, yells, now the other customers are yelling, telling me I lack Ubuntu. At this point I’m asking to speak to the manager, no one came. I eventually call over for Booysen, she comes and says yes, I must stand at the back of the line. I challenge that and call her out for not doing a better job at telling her colleague what is going on and ensuring the other customers that I am not cutting in. I must have asked for the manager 4/5 times. Someone came but they didn’t engage me directly everyone was either yelling at me or talking over me. In the end, another lady came with the R300, the lady at till 6 denied me service and I had to go back to Booysen’s till and she said it’s my fault because I refused to do 2 transactions. I told her she should have managed that situation better and that I’ll be reporting her and her colleagues because they don’t have a right to verbally attack me like that and they actively engage other customers to chime in. I’m so mad ?

I still haven't received it, I wasn't getting anywhere with Amarex and they were claiming she wrote the wrong address on my parcel, for days I asked her to show me what address she wrote. She ignored messages and voice notes and was selective in answering my calls. I insisted that she follow up on the issue because as aramex's client she might have more information and can claim for insurance and give me back my money if it comes to that. She refused to engage. At some point she said I must go pick up the parcel from the place where Amarex left my parcel. She doesn't even know if this place is safe, if I have a way to get there. I asked her as a woman, how can she ask me to risk my safety by going somewhere I don't know. She started swearing at me and told me I'm not her client and doesn't have to assist me. Now she has blocked me everywhere. My parcel still hasn't arrived and I am getting contradicting stories from Amarex about where it is. Amarex is trying to pin the issue on Brenda, Brenda is trying to pin it on Amarex and no one is helping me. Brenda is very unprofessional. Once she gets her money she writes you off as a client, it doesn't matter if your product arrives or not. I tried to write this comment on her facebook reviews but she has disabled them, probably because her clients wouldn't have great things to say if given the chance. Aramex in Bloemfontein has delivered my parcel to the wrong person. I've repeatedly asked to retrieve my parcel and give it back to me. they give me the run around and conflicting stories. They acting like its my fault that this parcel went to the wrong place. They lie and say they called me when they didn't.
The online team has been stressing me out. I’ve been trying to get a refund on an online purchase I made end of March. I first reached out to them mid May to say the item still hasn’t arrived and I no longer need it, I’d like a refund instead. They promised to get back to me but didn’t. I escalated to calls, I’ve probably called 4/5 times in the last two weeks. They’ve done everything from lie about the refund being done when it hasn’t, get me off the phone promising to call me back but they never do, tell me I can’t get a refund because my item has left the warehouse and will arrive soon and that also hasn’t happened or tell me they’re busy in meetings and can’t help me. My patience is wearing thin. Today their number is going straight to voicemail And I can’t reach them at all. I want my money back. This is so unacceptable, I’ve spent so much money on airtime as well, everytime I call I always get put on hold for forever. It’s unacceptable. I understand it’s lockdown and there’s a lot of uncer*****y, but they fail to communicate and now they’re wasting my time and money.
Telkom release me of your evil clutches please. You’re WiFi is very weak in my area and I’ve logged serval cancellation requests after being dissatisfied with your broken promises to resolve the issue. I’m done please let me go.
I’ve emailed, called, texted and inboxed. At first I thought it was an innocent mistake when they sent me a T-shirt won’t R120 instead of the dress I’d ordered worth over R300. Their lack of feedback, has made me realize it’s not just an innocent mistake, it’s bad business practice at best and a scam at worst. Their phone number goes straight to voicemail mail and texts and emails go unanswered. I’m beyond annoyed.
