We ordered Mr D from Rocomamas Mall of the South, when the food arrived, it was cold - understandable as it is a delivery service. The peri peri wings we ordered were so dry and rubbery. No condiments were provided with the food after requesting you to specify which one you would like on the app. I phoned the store and they wanted to deliver the sauce and at that point, we waited almost 2 hours for the food to be delivered so I declined the offer. We spent R600 on a meal that was not authentic. Save your money and go to chicken licken or KFC.

Dear RocoMamas Management, I would like to formally raise a complaint regarding an extremely upsetting experience my mother and I had at your Cornubia Mall branch on Wednesday evening. We arrived at approximately 6:34pm and, before placing our order, specifically asked the waiter about the turnaround time as we had a movie scheduled for 7:30pm. The waiter assured us the food would take approximately 10 minutes, so we proceeded to order based on that assurance. However, by around 7:10pm, we still had not received our order. I approached the waiter to ask for an update, and he simply stated that our order was “next” before walking away. At that point, due to the time and the fact that we were going to miss our movie, my mother and I decided to leave. Another waiter then followed us out of the restaurant and continued following us all the way toward Sausage Saloon, repeatedly insisting that we wait. I explained multiple times that we no longer wished to wait and that we needed to get to our movie. What made the situation especially disturbing was that despite me repeatedly saying that I felt unsafe and asking him to leave us alone, he continued following us. It only stopped when my mother eventually told him to just give us the order so that he would leave us alone. As two women alone, this behaviour made us extremely uncomfortable and distressed. Given the realities in South Africa and the fact that GBV has been declared a National Disaster, being persistently followed by a male staff member after repeatedly asking him to stop was deeply unsettling and unacceptable. To make matters worse, when we asked for his name during the incident, he refused to provide it. Even after our movie ended, I still felt anxious walking past the restaurant on our way back to our car because of how uncomfortable the interaction had made us feel. This experience was not only disappointing from a service perspective, but also alarming from a customer safety perspective. I believe your staff should be properly trained on respecting customer boundaries and understanding when their behaviour becomes intimidating. I would appreciate acknowledgment of this complaint and an explanation of what steps will be taken to address this matter.

The Dainfern branch needs to do better, the manager working on the 21st closing shift, shouldn't work with people , the fact that you don't EQ you shouldn't be working with people. Absolutely horrid woman!

My experience at this establishment ( Rocomamas @ Montecasino) was highly disappointing due to the lack of professionalism and poor service. From the outset, the staff appeared uninterested, and taking our order seemed to be treated as an inconvenience rather than a standard part of service. After placing our meal order, we received cold drinks that were flat. When this was brought to the waiter’s attention, we were informed that we would need to pay extra if we wanted canned beverages, which was unexpected and not communicated upfront. We then requested to speak with the manager, who assured us that the dispensing machines were functioning correctly and that replacements would be provided. Unfortunately, the resolution was significantly delayed. It took approximately 20 minutes for alternative drinks to arrive, by which time we had nearly finished our meals. During this period, our assigned waiter appeared to avoid attending to our table altogether. Following the experience, I chose not to leave a tip. Only then did the manager approach us to ask about the issue, which felt reactive rather than proactive. Overall, the service fell well below expected standards, and the experience was frustrating from start to finish.

I’m really disappointed with the service we received at RocoMamas (Mall of the South). While the atmosphere was decent, the overall experience fell short of expectations. Our order was incorrect, our drinks arrived late, and we waited about 15 minutes just for our shots. Attention to detail was clearly lacking. What was even more frustrating was how the food was prepared and presented — the chef placed the tomato directly on the bun, which completely affected the texture, and despite specifically asking for the sweet fire ribs with chillies on the side, they were placed on top of the ribs instead. It’s disappointing when simple requests aren’t followed and basic service standards aren’t met. I hope the team takes this feedback seriously and improves both communication and order accuracy.

I’m really disappointed with the service we received at RocoMamas (Mall of the South). While the atmosphere was decent, the overall experience fell short of expectations. Last night my partner took me out for belated dinner to celebrate my birthday. We went to Rocomamas N1 city as I always enjoy their food. Well to my disbelief while we were sitting at our table we noticed a ****roach walking on the wall. We kinda ignored it however we became more alert when we saw more ****roaches on the floor and one that politely walked across our table.. We then called on the manager as I am petrified of ****roaches however he dismissed our concerns saying that he apologizes and added that they just had their shop fumigated and walked away. We called on our waitress and requested for her to pack our food to go as we were going to donate the food bcoz we refused to eat it. Our waitress couldn't stop apologizing enough probably knowing of the issues the company is experiencing. I honestly think that this matter should be handed over to the dept of health for an inspection as the infestation of ****roaches is a concerned health risk.. My partner and I will definitely not be returing to rockomamas at N1 City due to our dining experience and the attitude of the manager on duty with regards to our concerns is much to be desired. I'm also sorry Mr Manager hence I too walked out.
