I accepted a quotation to fit a roller cover on my X-Class bakkie and was assured by a SA Canopy Gezina branch representative that my original X-class roller bars would fit with the roller cover installation. I was shocked when the SA Canopy branch co-owner Mr Douw told me that the original roller bars would not fit after they had already fitted the roller cover. Mr Douw told me that if I wanted roller bars with the roller cover I would have to purchase an after market one from them (this after I was assured that my original roller bars would fit with the roller cover installation). I told Mr Douw that I do not want the after market roller bars on my bakkie, and that I will just pay for the roller cover without the roller bars. I asked them to load my roller bars in the bakkie. I found a buyer for my original roller bars as I no longer needed them. I was shocked when the buyer came to inspect the bars at my home to find that my original roller bars were cut and damaged when SA Canopy attempted to make them fit the roller cover installed on my X-class bakkie. I went back to SA Canopy in Gezina and met Mr Douw and expressed my unhappiness that my original roller bars were cut and damaged. I demanded that they be returned to the original condition by replacing the 2 bars that were cut. I left my roller bar with Mr Douw for repairs. Mr Douw is now evasive, does not take my calls and displaying no willingness to repair the damage SA Canopy caused to my roller bar.

In August 2020, I bought a canopy from SA Canopy in Pietermaritzburg. They are situated in North Street, Pietermaritzburg. The canopy leaked badly and I lost all my samples for work due to water damage. The paint also started bubbling. I took it back and they resprayed. In November, the paint bubbled again and the nightmare just went on from there. December Gyan said the factory was closed so I waited for January so they just TRIED to waterproof but still no success! I heard nothing from him unless I messaged him. I left the canopy finally with them in June and told them to sort it out once and for all. In August I messaged him again regarding my canopy and he said it was in production. I must say the production of this canopy is shoddy. No proper finishing off, nothing! So on the 4 August he said he would let me know about delivery the following day. Still no word from him. On the 16 September I messaged again and asked whether I was getting a refund on this so he says no sorry the boys had covid. Covid for so long? Then suddenly needs to colour code. Ummmm it was colour coded in the beggining! Then I sent him a message for a refund. Suddenly I get pics of the canopy being restored and resprayed and I can fit on Tuesday. I am not happy with this service as I paid in full and its taken a year to sort this out. Quality is **** so I don't ever recommend these people!

I bought a 2nd canopy from Johannesburg centere canopy in New lands Gauteng. During the installation off the canopy they damaged my vechile wiring causing the rear lights indicators to stop working . I got a quote for the repair but they only paid half of the amount which I have to pay the half because off me taking the bakki to the agent. Bad workmanship at their head office and no one to complain to

Very bad. I bought a Carryboy canopy from SA Canopy Potchefstroom in 2006 for a Toyota Hilux VVTI 2.7 Rider. The windows on canopy slide - ON my righthand side the second slide window splattered. No stock in South Africa. I phoned all the SA Canopy branches - just no service! Why sell stock when you cannot supply parts? Very unhappy with SA Canopy

About 2 months ago I took my vehicle to Sa Canopy in East London to have new hinges, rubbers and swing arm fitted. This was done without issue. One month later/one month ago, I needed to take the Canopy off as we where moving houses and I needed to load items such as my fridge. The canopy would not come off. I then noticed that they had glued the canopy to the vehicle. I then asked my fiancee to take the vehicle in for me so that they could loosen the canopy, which they did. However, by the time she got home with the vehicle, the rubbers where hanging off the sides and had not been glued to the canopy, and the back right side bracket was completely loose. I then took the canopy off and noticed that the front seal that they re did for me, was also completely skew, and was glued on into the actual load body and not onto the "lip" as it should be done. I now took it back to Sa Canopy this morning to see if they could fix the things that where not done properly in the first place. I was met by an extremely arrogant guy by the name of Anthoney. I explained the issue to him and showed him the problems, but was then told that they would not fix it because as soon as the canopy is removed, the warranty is lost. I explained to him that neither I or my fiance were informed of a warranty, or loss of warranty, and that all I needed was for them to fix what I paid for in the beginning. He then started treating me like I was stupid, saying things like,"its really not difficult to understand", and " how do you not understand this" to which I responded that he must not talk to me like an idiot and that I am more educated than he might think. I asked him again to please fix the things that where not done correctly the first time. He responded that this is a business and he would not do it for free as I have lost my warranty. I then got really upset and said to him that it wasn't .......ing done properly the first time!! He said that the glue had rubbed off because we had traveled with the canopy loose because my fiancee had told him not too tighten it, thats absolute rubbish, and even if that was the case, why on earth would you release a vehicle from your service, that wasn't fit to travel. A loose canopy is a major hazard on the road, and this Anthony blamed it on that. Well if that is the case, you should have never allowed a vehicle to leave with a canopy that hasn't been properly secured. This falls completely inline with the rest of the poor workmanship that is provided at SA Canopy!!
