On the 5th of February 2024 I sent my brand new bakkie for a secure lid installation to SA Towbar. Was informed by Sunil and Ravi that I needed specialized brackets to install my roll bar onto the secure lid. I agreed to the supp**** quote of the brackets etc. In June this year i started to get a knock from the bin area, the knocking noise started to get more progressive. i decided to take my vehicle to my dealership and have them check whats the knocking sound, they found that the knock was coming from my secure lid hitting against my cabin. when the removed the lid completely they found severe damage to my bin and my cabin, which also started to rust spots to the damaged area. Furthermore there wasnt no special brackets installed to attach my roll bar to my bin slider, instead it was drilled into the lid which created water leaks. The roll bar has 6 points to be fastened but only 5 where drilled and fastened. Im in utter shock with the damages caused by pathetic workmanship and the *****ulent conduct by the business owners and staff! The owners response as per Ravi is that their products are not meant to be used for off roading....... but they install winches, roll bars, nudge bars, steel bumpers etc People be warned revert back to your invoices from this *****ulent company and make sure that they didnt charge you for something which isnt installed as well

I needed a towbar fitted fast to my Landrover while in KZN. Of all the places, these guys went out of their way, even helping me find a trailer company. I would highly recommend them for customer service and professionalism.

I've had the worst possible experience from SA Towbar. I booked my car in to have a Towbar fitted on the 1st of December 2021. When I made the booking they told me half a day and I can go to a mall close by to work. I was there just after 8am. Got there and if you don't know they are in one of the worst areas of Durban- Umgeni Road, I've never been so scared, being new to the general Durban area, I was petrified. I got there only to be told it will take a full day???? I had to find an Uber to get home to work + I live in Drummond, it's not 5-minutes away. I couldn't fetch my 2 4-year olds as I was stranded with no car. Halfway through the morning they called to ask if I want side steps fitted to my vehicle at an additional R6.5000. I said OK. I had to follow-up 3 times with them before they confirmed I could fetch my car at 17:00. I had to Uber again to the scary Umgeni area. The Uber rides cost me R800 for the day. I got there and was left waiting till 17:30 when a manager came out to say there's a problem the side steps don't fit. I was asked to pay whilst I was waiting and stupidly I did. I was upset and wanted a refund, they spoke me out of it making promises to come to me etc.to fit. I just wanted to get out of there, my kids were home alone with a sitter and I had to get home. I left and the next morning at 06:54 I messaged them to advise I don't want the fitment and want a refund. No response!! I was in a workshop and could only return calls in the afternoon from them. I again said I want a refund and the manager said he'll discuss it with his team and get back to me. Not a single word since! I've sent messages no response. They owe me almost R7k and ignoring me. Word of advise, it's not worth going to them, it's a very dangerous area and they lie to your face. SA Towbar delivers the worst possible service and there products are not great PLUS they think I'll just donate almost R7k to them and let it go!!! SHOCKING is an understatement!!!! Stay away from them!!!

Worst service ever, a job that was supposed to take 3 hours, ended up taking 7 hours, they had every excuse under the sun as to why it was taking so long, however seeing as i sat and waited for my vehicle, I could clearly see cars jumping the que, this after confirming the booking on the Friday before, the tow bar has been fitted skew, and my park distance control does not work, since they fitted the tow bar, I would highly recommend using an alternative supplier.

They were recommended to me by a cousin in the trucking business. I asked for a quote over the web and got a response immediately (other companies responded after a day or two). They gave me an appointment to my convenience and regularly reminded me and even urged me to come in earlier. Although they said the towbar would be fitted in 4 to 4.5 hours it was done within an hour. A few days later I tested it on a lightweight trailer (I'm new to this) and all went well. Thanks Sunil and Nicki.

I bought a double tube towbar from SA towbar for my 2018 Hilux sc In one week rust is appearing on the top of the inner tube. Upon reporting it they responded by asking me to bring it it to spray over it. I refused. The agreed then for me to bring it in for replacement. When i phoned them this morning to equire if i can com in they told me that they will phone me back...still waiting....i think small ckaims court is the next step... I can see rust bubbles under the plasticote on the tube. Clearly no preparation of material before coating...
