It is with a heavy heart that I write this review because I of people who are heartless and dismissive. My Mother was a member of SADTU therefore when she passes we are liable to claim. We put a claim Dec 2024 till today we are following up on the same claim, we are sent from pillar to post with no assistance. They promise to get back to us but NOTHING. It is really a shame and a disgrace to our family. Hloni Mahloko from Safrican is dealing with the claim bt no feedback is given. I have spoken to a lot of people like Lebohang Mputhi, Neo Mokele, Glenda Shikwamba, Jade Louw. What does 1 have to do to get proper service. It's been more than 6 mths waiting on claim, this is rediculous. I'm gonna take this further now

I have put through a claim 3 weeks ago for the 4045 and for the past 2weeks now I am being told that you are waiting for the paid up certificate from SADTU department. For the past two weeks I have been spending my money on airtime calling your offices and being transferred from pillar to post with no assistance. Only have to deal with all the rude *****es who don’t give a damn about other peoples feelings. To an extent that 1 if them said I should provide the paid up certificate if I don’t like the way you work cause the deceased should have the paid up certificate. So since I am unable to find it in any of the documents in the house I must wake up my father from the grave and ask him were his paid up certificate is. One of the rude *****es saw it fit to say to me “ yah we not gonna pay this claim because this person resigned not retired.” So my father at the age of 60 he was still required to work his ass of and he wont be regarded as a retired person. This man has been a member of SADTU for 32 years and this is the thank you he gets. With this endless rude phone calls that I have to deal with on daily basis when do you expect me to mourn my father? Ever since his passing I have not been able to mourn him because I am still busy trying to sort this out, must I wait for the whole year before this is resolved? If I was a white person would I be treated with so much disrespect? Would I be told to go to the nearest SADTU office to request for the certificate? You don’t even know what I do for a living but I must make time to go around looking for your offices. You don’t even know My physically abilities. They even refused to transfer me to their managers or anyone who has the ability to assist me cause clearly they have no idea how to do their jobs let alone talk to people.

An absolutely useless and clueless organization. One year on and nothing has been concluded, not even the recognition document. Unfulfilled promises, cancelled meetings, unanswered calls and mails and the list goes on. In spite of doing nothing you cannot cancel your subscription with immediate effect because they need to bill you for at least another three months, if you lucky. If you have spare cash laying around that you would like to get rid of for no apparent reason, then SADTU should definitely be your first choice.

I have written a letter requesting termination of membership to South African Democratic Teachers Union. They asked me to provide me with the necessary details, which I did and they even acknowledge receipt of the information they needed. I have continued to write countless e-mails to request them just to terminate my membership but to this day since April 2015 they still deduct my money from my persal because they dont want let me go out to another teachers union. So I am already with the other union but they still continue to steal my money unauthorized. I want them to return my money and terminate my membership with immediate effect.

I've been a member of NHB sadtu funeral policy for more than 3 years. My monthly payments are always paid via debit order,I made a claim last week when one of my dependent passed on. My claim was declined and the excuse they gave me is because my August premium was unpaid. I wasn't aware of this, they never informed me about it until last week when I made a claim and they were supposed to pay me. What is confusing is that my bank statement indicate that the debit went through, the money was paid to them. According to them I missed one payment, I even went to the extent of requesting them to deduct that monthly premium in the sum that they were supposed to pay for the claim but they declined that request. I can't believe they did this to me after more than 3 years I've been a very loyal client to them

Claim not paid, but premium was deducted . insurer says one month was not paid, but continued to deduct the premiums. if one month was not paid, why did they continue to deduct knowing that they will never pay? why are they continuing to deduct even today if that one premium is still outstanding?
is this policy still active? who is covered? in the event of death again, will it pay?
please I need to understand all these before I can make a decision about this funeral plan
NHB ADMINISTRATORS CC
[Email Removed]

I have been paying for this funeral plan since 2012. In August this year I lost my mother and I put a claim. I was not paid and their response was that I missed one month's premium. I was never advised of this, the insurance continued deducting the premium until today.
I need to be paid for my mothers claim as soon as possible
