Avoid this place at all costs!!! (BROOKLYN) I would give this 0 stars if I could. The nail technicians are extremely rude and unprofessional. The owner - Olivia, is even worse. When I contacted her regarding the horrible incident she responded “Ohh okay. Good luck finding a better place.” Had the absolute worst experience. The place was so dirty and unkept. The nails technicians clothes were also very dirty and unprofessional. When we walked in they barely greeted us; just pointed to 2 chairs and said “Sit”. There is never any one at the front desk. We waited 15 minutes and no-one even spoke to us. Eventually they came out of a room and told us to sit by a new table. They do not make conversation with the clients, instead talk loudly across the room to each other, talking about the client’s. They are unapproachable and rude. My cuticles bled after which has never happened before. To top it all off: we wanted to pay and leave BUT they hadn’t even charged the card machine which was also filthy, and we had to stand there waiting for it to switch on. Then we struggled for about 10 minutes to pay because there was a “signal problem”. Honestly, I will never go back and would never recommend anyone to go there. The owner should not own a nail salon if this is how she treats clients. No wonder her employees behave this way. Spend your money elsewhere!!!

Extremely poor service and bad attitude, they won't take responsibility for their bad service. My daughters and I have been to this salon once. The person who runs the place changed my nail technician numerous times and kept asking us to move because she overbooked. When I tried to book my nails for the 2nd time, I was told that she does not want to do them because I am never happy based on 1 session. They did not even paint my entire nail, leaving huge spaces on the sides of all my nails. They were unable to correct it at the same time because of bookings. She requested that I make a separate rip to fix them. She is rude, and for a person who provides a service does not even smile. Extremely disappointing!

I have been going to the branch in Brooklyn for a while Sunday I had booked a appointment for my mom she got food poisoning. We advised the WhatsApp group she needs to move the appointment and I was met with rude and personal slander and comments. I do agree with the other 2 reviews this place is disgraceful and I thought because they cheaper it was not a big issue but my nails have been breaking even with the product on and always happens. I am just told all the ladies know what they doing.... So I would be careful of going to them, I know I wont EVER go back! They dont even deserve 1 star

I'm extremely disappointed with my recent experience at SkinEsthetics Brooklyn. I visited them for a nail and toe service, but what I got was a butchered job that left me with uneven, poorly shaped nails and damaged cuticles. The technicians seemed inexperienced and lacked attention to detail. They worked on my nails separately, resulting in noticeable differences in shape and length. I had to correct them multiple times, which was frustrating and time-consuming. To make matters worse, the polygel application was inconsistent, with one hand being smooth and the other being bumpy and wobbly. The finishing touches were also poorly done, with glue and nail polish left on my cuticles. The worst part is that I'm now left with scarring around my cuticles, which is painful and unsightly. I've never had a nail experience this bad before, and I would not recommend SkinEsthetics to anyone. The only positive aspect of my experience was that the salon did respond to my feedback and offered to have someone else “fix” my nails by “smoothing them out with filing or buffing” . However, the damage had already been done, and I'm still dealing with the consequences. If you value your nail health and want a professional experience, I would suggest looking elsewhere.

Saturday I had a very bad experience at SkinEstetics in Waterkloof and just felt like I need to warn future clients. I went for a dermaplating session, gel nails and a wax. We started off with the dermaplating session. It was my first time so didn’t really know what to expect. During my service she left the room quite often and other staff kept entering the room to get stuff out of the cupboard. At one stage I opened my eyes and saw that she was filming my face while working and I wasn’t asked if I was okay with that before hand. After the dermaplating session she said that my eyebrows and lip still needed to be waxed because all the hair wasn’t removed (I went for the dermaplating so I didn’t have to wax my face). The wax was too hot and she ripped some skin off of my lip. As far as I know now you are not supposed to wax the skin where you dermaplated and she did. My nails came out nice afterwards, but she was very hard handed. I’ve had my nails done before and it never hurt when they push the cuticles back, but this time it did. She also cut me a few times with the nail file and caused it to bleed a bit. She would also often get up to help other staff or do things and come back and forget where she was with my nails. Cuticle oil was only added after the fact when she wanted to take pictures of my nails. The wax session was the worst of all. I’ve had a brazilian wax before and I know it’s not a pleasant experience, but i’ve never experienced so much pain. I had to ask her to stop. The wax was too hot, kept breaking when she pulled and she didn’t apply any tension. My underwear also got lots of wax on it. After asking her to stop she offered to use a different wax. She still didn’t apply any tension on the skin. I know pinpoint bleeding is common, but this was more than that. I’m left with some skin **********. I told her to just do a bikini instead just so it could be done. She didn’t clean off the leftover wax and just gave me cream to apply to the waxed areas. I still got charged for a full brazilian wax. My reason for leaving this review is to try and save some women from having the same experience.
