**Subject: Disappointing Experience with SMTAX – Poor Customer Service & Unfair Practices** I am a small business owner who specializes in company registrations and tax returns. Over the past year, I’ve been using SMTAX for company registrations and have processed over 15 transactions with them. Unfortunately, my most recent experience has left me deeply frustrated and disappointed. After paying SMTAX R250 for a company registration, I received an email stating that their pricing had increased to R550. I promptly informed my client about the change in price, but unfortunately, the client could not proceed with the registration due to financial constraints and requested a refund. However, SMTAX flatly refused to refund the full amount and insisted that they could only refund R250 on **15th November 2024**. This delay and lack of flexibility are highly unprofessional, especially considering the circumstances. When I reached out to them, their response was both dismissive and rude, with their team even questioning why I sent the money in the first place, suggesting that I should have checked their website for updated pricing. This is completely unacceptable, as I have been using their same email system for over 15 company registrations without any issue until now. I want to warn anyone considering doing business with SMTAX to be extremely cautious. Their customer service is poor, their policies are unreasonable, and they fail to communicate effectively with their clients. They have demonstrated no willingness to support small businesses or provide fair solutions when issues arise. Please stay away from this company. I was with this consulting company before my business went out of business due to some circumstances that was 2023 then this year April i asked to make my company compliant so it can be compliant on csd i was charged R5000 i paid 50% the status never changed on my csd till i look for another accountant and they made it compliant and now when i asked for my refund i ve been told stories funny enough they rep**** when i reviewed them on Google and promised to be refunded and when we went to whatsapp they sad they can't refund done work which never reflected on my side as done

I used their service last year and they used the wrong banking details, resulting in me having to still go to a SARS branch myself. tried using them again this year, and I haven't gotten a response since I paid. This is really gross incompetence. Sad part is in my head I'm thinking "Oh, here's a young black-owned business for me to support", but no, all they do is ignore your emails and your calls. Disgraceful. Oh, and they'll use "working from home"as an excuse for their slow/non-existent service.

Useless. Submitted all documents even paid waited over a month fro a simple efiling & then get reminders from SARS to submit supporting documents! It's really simple if you having issues with a TAX Practitioners you lodge a complaint with SARS at ReportingUnprofessionalConduct@sars.gov.za complete the RTP001 form & pop it though to them. There is accountability that this organisation does not have.

Worst service ever.. Paid people for a service that they only delivered one of the things I paid them for. The rest was not done. I need my UIF number and sent 2 mails to Buchule and his wife and no response and spoke to 2 different consultants and they all say we have to wait for Buchule to resolve. I need to find out how I can get my money back for service not rendered.. We are now in lockdown and I need to apply for assistance and they *****ed me over.

I've dealt with many companies over the years, but this one takes the cake for WORST customer service. They have one great looking website, one would think its a well established company, but seems there are only 3 people working there, very rarely get hold of anyone via telephone. I applied for a simple VAT, UIF and PAYE registration for one of my companies. Little to no feedback from the service consultant, after requesting for a refund for pour/no service delivery I get refunded a portion of the funds I paid. This company clearly lacks the ability to provide customer service, could not even provide basic accounting services, not even to mention bookkeeping. I would highly advise people to steer clear of this incompetent company and avoid going through the trouble I went through.

As a business we applied to SMTAX through their web portal for in order to become a VAT registered business. We are a small company and was in the process of getting a vendor number with a big organisation and it is their policy that they do business with VAT registered company's. For this reason we approached SMTAX. We spoke and I explained what needed to happen and why, they then sent us a quotation and we paid what they had requested. This was in the month of May- June. Up to date we are still not registered for VAT, it is now end October. They dont make contact and they dont reply to any of our emails. They have basically taken our money and run away. This is the most unprofessional business I have ever seen not to mention because of the delays we have lost the business from the client we have been perusing which could have resulted in hundreds of thousands of Rand's revenue for this small business. Please get these people to contact us, We need the details of our SARS profile so we can appoint a different firm. We would also like our money back.

The Owner, Buchule Sibaka, doesn't reply to calls, messages, e mails or WhatsApp messages and ignores requests for a meeting to resolve issues and staff who are handling cases leave the company and the work doesn't get passed on to other colleagues. 4 years worth of tax refunds being "not" handled by this awful company. They still have all my original documents.
