This company was appointed by my insurance to replace the Geyserwise controller on my geyser. After finally getting a report from them, the insurance called and informed me that Starplex can not give a quote as they are not qualified or experienced to replace / repair the unit. A hole day waisted. And now nothing comes on, meaning the guy from Starplex disconnected something in the ceiling..

Use at your peril.Very arrogant service.Their maintenance divison doesnt follow specification or minimum SANS building standards. They ignore your concerns putting yourself under risk from NHBRC and other regulatory bodies eg Electrical Certificate of compliance,HOA,neighbours complaints, estate rules, city council. They dont supervise contractors or subcontractors on site.Furthermore when you complain about their service they ignore issues by proceeding to hide their mistakes (defects) by carrying on with other work. They make their service as frustrating as possible for you so that you compromise on standards(Its called ************).They leave you as a client to supervise the work and approve the work. Then they ask for payment.Total let down.

Staplex is a terrible and unprofessional plumbing company, use them at your peril. Around 18 September 2025, I experienced a burst geyser which was leaking water into my ceiling. I contacted Staplex and they send one of their plumbers on site, who arrived at about 23:00 accompanied by his girlfriend. After checking the leak, in less than five minutes later he came out of the roof, assuring me he has stopped the water supply. I immediately made payment but a day or two later, the water continued to leak from the roof and more than a month later, I’m struggling to get the company to come fix their mess.

We had the pleasure of working with StarPlex on our insurance claim, and they exceeded our expectations! Werner and his team of three arrived punctually, replaced two damaged ceiling boards, matched and replaced the cornices, and app**** undercoat and paint with flawless results. They were incredibly respectful of our home, carefully covering furniture with drop sheets, and left everything spotless, even cleaning and refitting the light fixture. Werner and his team provided top-quality work with exceptional care and professionalism. We highly recommend StarPlex and give them a well-deserved 5-star rating! Thank you for making this process so smooth!

We had a burst geyser and the service and quality of workmanship from Starplex Maintenance was outstanding. I was kept informed of progress throughout the process, and the completed work of both plumbing and building repairs was of a very high standard. Kudus to them.

Save yourself a nightmare with Starplex Plumbing!! We had a water pipe burst inside the wall. Unfortunately we deal with Standard Bank Insurance which has been a huge nightmare too lately. The plumbers came, chopped open the wall, fix the pipe or so we thought. The same evening we step into the shower...no hot water, trying the bath...no hot water coming out of the tap. Turns out they did not check on stones inside the tap/pipe. So they came in the morning to take all the bits and pieces out of the tap cartridge. Two hours later the soldering on one of the new pipes leaked, bathroom flooded, wooden floor damaged, wooden cabinet got the full load and is now swollen wood! First they 'offered' to fix it the following day, I said no, must be fixed today, so they did. The next day the builders came appointed by the other nightmare Standard Bank Insurance, they chopped off the concrete and hit another pipe inside the wall. We were told to open a new claim at Standard Bank and they told Starplex to come and fix. Speaking to the plumber, he would come same day (yes otherwise we are without water for 4.5 days as Monday is Freedom Day. We get a call at 16h30 that he won't make it anymore today, Standard nightmare tells us to find a plumber ourselves as we are covered for R2000 emergency plumbing. It is FRIDAY EVENING BEFORE A LONG WEEKEND! We knew trouble was coming with Starplex as the web is INFESTED with complaints. We knew Standard Bank Insurance is chaotic too as our gas geyser installed by idiots was a bomb. They were going to check to refund us a plumber we organised ourselves as they could not find a geyser over nearly two weeks, so we had to re-connect the electrical geyser forking up the plumber costs out of my own pocked, they did not care we were a household without water for two weeks! We have been fighting to fix the gas bomb aka geyser since August 2020 and that was finally sorted by a qualified installer (who did not give a **** either we did not have hot water in shower and bath as pieces of dirt ended up in the tap cartridges). Standard Bank Insurance blamed Covid for the 'slow response'...ahum, it took them a couple of months to respond after another complaint on Hello Peter. And whomever reads this, don't think you are better of at Outsurance as they allocate Starplex too!!!! Moral of the story: Starplex does not care, Standard Bank Insurance does not care either!

Really bad service, they done repairs in less than 20 minutes, they didn’t show us what the problem was or proof that they actually replaced anything but want to charge me R1850 over and above the insurance company paying them for the first hour.
