Plain food, excessively overpriced. When we got the bill, the ****tail I'd ordered was charged at incorrect price (different from the price that I had seen on the drinks menu that the waitress had given me initially). I enquired with the waitress why there was a difference as I'd thought they'd made a mistake. She then brought a drinks menu with the higher price (exactly as the price on the bill). I thought maybe I'd made a mistake or overlooked something. Today my friend shows me the online menu for the exact ****tail I'd ordered and the price is the lower one that I'd seen on the first menu the waitress had given me. Basically I was scammed! And I don't know how that waitress managed to get a second menu with different, much more inflated prices. I would even take a picture of the bill but unfortunately that scheming woman took the bill cos she knew exactly what she was doing. Absolutely horrible experience at the Bungalow!!!!

I'm not gonna waste my energy on this experience but will share that we had waited for over 30 minutes for our dessert and decided to leave when the manager demanded that we pay for the order because it was part of a pre-set winter special. When we explained that our waitress told us she was still busy with other tables and had no lost our appetite and had no additional time to wait for the dish, he asked us if we could prove that we really waited that long as he had not been told by anyone that our table requested dessert. The guy was rude, condescending boarding on intimidation. I am definitely NEVER going there, ever

Halfway through my meal I found a hair in between my fries and reported it to the waiter immediately, hoping that they would take full responsibility and replace it, as most restaurants would have done out of common courtesy and business etiquette. To our surprise, one of the staff members came to our table a few minutes later with the hair in a clean side-plate and tried to convince me that it was a root of some sort, supposedly from the potatoes. Being a very trusting person, I took their word for it and let it pass, only to realise my utter dissapointment seconds later when the waiter had already left our table without even offering to replace the bowl of fries. I only realised afterwards that it had to have been a hair, and even if, by the slightest chance, it had been a root, I was mainly disappointed by the fact that they did not replace the remaining fries that they had taken from me. If only they had brought me a new portion, like most restaurants would have done, I would have left a happy customer and wouldn't even have felt the need to write this review at all.
I recently attended a birthday dinner at the bungalow, and was severely disappointed.

The worst part of this experience was as my party and I depart the restaurant, all of us are abruptly stopped at the bar in the middle of the restaurant, with many other patrons watching, to see whether we paid the bill. Ironically we had overpaid to the extent that we tipped the waiter 20%.

This type of treatment is invasive, discriminatory and harassing. I cant believe an establishment such as yours could treat patrons this badly.
I went to the Bungalow in Clifton over the weekend for my friend's birthday. We ordered a chicken burger (R100 for a burger!!!) that came with avo, feta and mustard mayo. Sounds good, right? Or NOT!! when it EVENTUALLY arrived, it was a sliver of chicken, covered in chilies with no avo, no feta and plain mustard slammed on the heap of bread! nowhere on the menu did it say that there was chilies on the burger, and for someone like me who cannot eat chilies, i was not very impressed. and the chicken was so thin, i would definitely not call that a 'chicken burger'. i was applauded that it was R100 for this excuse of a meal. if i had known that, i would rather have gone somewhere else where there is good quality food! i was telling a friend and she had similar bad experience there. they are loosing customers at a rapid pace!
