They couldn't deal with their online agents, I made a booking online via booking.com but couldn't travel on the date of the booking, I tried calling their landline number but it wasn't working,I drove to their hotel to resolve this but they actually made me pay for another booking,very bad experience

I made a booking for accommodation for 2 nights (25 and 26 May 2925) via Booking.com. So unfortunately I went for a major foot operation and the doctor told me to stay in bed until further notice. I therefore cancelled the reservation with Booking. Com. Who later said to me that the hotel needs a doctor's note. We'll the doctors note was sent to the hotel.then a day after which is 23rd May 2025, the hotel informed me that I cannot be refunded because of a short notice. Now I am wondering which short notice? Why did they ask for my docrors note? The confirmation number is 4831202189 and the pin is 9966. I could not even change the date because am not sure of my healing process. Your intervention will hightly be appreciated. Thank you.

The hotel is dirty, the bad smell from the carpet in the hall way. The bad smell from the public toilet near the reception 😢. We booked at the hotel from 27 December 2024 for seven days. On our arrival I was disappointed and asked if I cancel would I be refunded well the answer was no they could only give me a voucher to use it back at the hotel whenever am ready. Haibo how would I go back to something I don't like. 😕 The 1st night we slept but the next morning the toilet was leaking and smelling bad I reported but nothing was done. Linen had stains though washed..... I noticed a date on the linen 2017.....seriously you run a hotel and let people sleep with linen that old and yet we are paying a lot of money for that kind of a hotel...... Our 1st morning we went for breakfast yooooo guys the sausages are terrible and the breakfast is the same everyday, the boiled eggs with tomato gravy terrible too, the juice was a diluted cranberry, diluted apple juice and the orange juice too.

We booked at the Royal Hotel on 20/11/2024. There was no airconditioner working and it was a really humid day. When we called the reception - they just said that it was on - but there was nothing

Terrible service. The staff need to be trained on how to treat guests. Here's my list of issues during my stay at the hotel. 1. When booking, we were not asked how we arrived, so given the fact we'd arrived in 2 separate vehicles, we were not made aware that we should have paid for the parking facility when booking, we didn't because we were not offered. So when wanting to leave for dinner yesterday I actually ran around for about 20 minutes just trying to sort out my whole parking issue, the man at the front desk wasn't of much help either. Also, with load shedding, they don't really have much of a game plan when entering the parking, the guards won't instruct you what you should do if you're a guest etc. Basically no one communicates effectively. 2. Towels After going to the pool once, having used the 2 towels that were in the room. We'd requested for me at 3pm. Called in again at 9pm after coming back, and expected the knock on the door to be the towels, but no we were told they do not have enough towels, so they expect 2 towels to be enough. 3. Staff at breakfast Not sure if it's a case of there not being enough staff, or the staff is just slow. Ordered coffee and tea which never arrived, I had to call another waitress some 45 min later and obviously wait a few for that to arrive, if it's not that the staff are ever so ready to clean your table. 3. Elevators Staff at the elevators just stand there, it's 9:30 in the middle of loadshedding people have just eaten breakfast, and rushing to get to there rooms but there was absolutely no order, the gentleman stood there watched as 2 men basically cut my mum off when getting in to one of those tiny elevators , I actually had to ask him do you really work here? Did you not just see what happened? He stood there dumbstruck. The Royal Hotel Durban. You guys need to wake up, this makes it so obvious we're in a 3rd world country. It's these small things that matter. Otherwise the set up of the hotel is nice, the service just sucks

The service is very very poor,stuff not friendly,hotel towels are few they can't be dried up that is if you managed to get one in a room of which is a struggle,many appliance are not working, curtains are very dirty, everything is a mess. So wish they handle everyone the same unfortunately only Indian clients are handled with respect and fair .so disappointed

Very disappointed with the service at the coffee shop. We had lunch yesterday and as soon as we left the hotel, we started feeling sick and immediately had running tummies. We felt sick the entire night and decided to take the doggy bags back and complain about being sick after eating from there. We got there and they called the manager who told us to go and seek medical help and bring a note from a doctor proving that we got sick from eating their food. How ridiculous is that? We never got a refund and not even fresh food to replace the bad meal we had. The service is really bad and would never recommend anyone to go there.
