Friendly and Helpful Staff Memebers
I walked into the shop with absolutely no idea what i was doing and i walked out with knowledge that will carry me to continue with what i want to do. The most helpful, knowledgeable ladies in the shop. I would recommend The Soap Barn to anyone and everyone. Most phenomenal face to face i have experienced in a very long time.

Unprofessional & no refunds for faulty products
They have some good products and some bad ones and at the time I bought from them their labels weren't very clear and a bit misleading. It would say Pure Rose Water but when you open the bottle the alcohol smell was very very strong. There was so much that it burned my face & my clients faces. I wanted refunds but didnt get it. The only response I got was that "no one else has complained about the same thing", which is very unprofessional. They have changed their labels to be more correct though as it is not pure rose water (which implies there is no other additives like alcohol/preservatives in it). I also bought glycerine soap from them that had way too much alcohol in it. In the beginning when I bought it there was no smell at all, even though there was alcohol in. But after a few months of purchasing from them the alcohol smell was so overwhelming when opening the bucket of soap, that I couldnt mask it with a fragrance oil, you could still smell the alcohol so I was not able to sell this soap anymore. Again, the response upon giving them feedback was very unprofessional and I got no refund. The lady took offense and denied that there was anything wrong with the products. I eventually just stopped buying from them.

Poor Products
Online order received in good time, good communication. However, the issue is with the products and no aftersales support. I ordered 8kg of their Farmhouse soap which is advertised as "delicate enough for babies and skin disorders." Unfortunately the soap is harsh and drying. Worse that using cleaning detergent on hands. Interestingly, I tested the ph. Body soap is supposed to be around 9-10, the farmhouse soap tested higher, around 12. I contacted the Soap Barn, and mentioned that I would like to return the unopened 7 x 1kg buckets of soap. They refused, saying that they have a "have a strict no returns policy". This seems unreasonable, and goes against the consumer protection act. Having wasted R1000 on unusable soap, I do not recommend this store and definitely will not shop here again.

Shocking
Shocking. The rudest woman I have ever come across. Website is completely user UNFRIENDLY. It is like navigating through a list of commands. They will only fill orders over a certain amount. Demands a POP after its been sent. Sends me the rudest email from a retailer I have ever seen. I amazed they are still in business. They used to be amazing until they moved premises. Maybe owners changed because I will never go back there.

Great service on a short notice
With great service i cannot rate more than a 10/10...i contacted jackie on friday with ingredients i urgently needed since a client double their order on short notice and needed my ingredients this week to supply the client....jackie and her staff made sure my order went out the same day and with long weekend starting ..monday a public holidsy....i promptly received my order today and i could start on the order for my client....Again a great shout out to the soap barn for great products and great service. Would recommend you any time.....every time i get my orders everything is properly and securely packaged and well labeled...great work!
