Price for accommodation is ridiculous: 1. Rooms are small 2. Pool was not clean had green staff 🤦🏽♂️ 3. Cleaners don't change bedding and towels 🤦🏽♂️ 4. Breakfast: they don't replace what is finished when you ask they say out of stock but you know they just lazy to replace. Only part that was great was the booking the lady did her job very well 100percent

We made a group booking for a sleepover and dinner. We pre-paid dinner at R200 / head and on the night in question we ordered our meal which on receipt of the bill - we had only eaten R99 per head. The restaurant wanted us to pay and we explained that we had a package deal and that there was no need to pay. One of our meals was totally rotten and as a result the rest of us did not finish our meals. Clearly the reception and the the restaurant did not work together as we should have been told to eat to the value of our package. We also cancelled one of our guests (Covid issues) and we were promised a credit (small as it was - we never got it)! Our group felt it fair to express our unhappiness about this as The Venue does owe us a 50% refund for your dinner. We were told if there were more than 15 people at the restaurant we would get a buffet dinner - as we were the only people - we were given half a deal. Sadly - we will not be visiting The Venue again ... all 11 of us

Good morning, How disappointing our stay was at The Venue Hotel in Hartebee****rt. I'm not sure where to start so I'll start at the beginning of our stay! My biggest mistake was not going onto Hello Peter to see the reviews ☹. Well done you have a star rating of 1-star. That’s pathetic. 1. We got there and NOT one Covid protocol was followed, no one reminded us to sterilize our hands, the stand was hiding behind the entrance, no temperatures were taken or recorded so at this lodge Covid is not an issue. 2. The RUDE receptionist BARELY greeted us, with NO MASK on and seemed rather annoyed we were distracting her from whatever she was busy with. She had ZERO personality, unfriendly and barely offered us the information we needed. 3. When I made the reservation we were told we can't use the pool due to Covid and then well no one bothered to update us that things have changed and that we could make use of the pools. So there was a poolside relaxation opportunity missed. 4. We got to a room that was COMPLETELY mediocre and needed a sh*t load of work, the sliding door screamed each time you tried to open and close it. The bathroom handles are falling off and there aren't even covers over the light switches. One of the plug points had melted and couldn't be used so the bedroom was a disaster in and of itself. 5. At no point were we advised we were allowed to bring our own drinks as the other guests around the pool had cooler box after cooler box of drinks while we had to order from the bar. 6. Anyway sitting down to lunch I had to ask the waiters to put their masks on, again no Covid at this resort, very lax and nonchalant. No protocols are cares were taken. 7. Thereafter an evening at the spa, we returned to a room that's plugs had tripped and had to call for assistance. Then the kettle wouldn't work and to top it off the Wi-Fi couldn't be fixed. What makes me super sad is that I staked my 8 year anniversary on this place and it was so terrible, I booked it for my husband and I and I was so embarrassed, just so you know we ran out of there to rather pay for breakfast somewhere else because we couldn't bring ourselves to being there anymore. Luckily I can post this review everywhere so people don’t make the same mistake I did.

My partner and I checked into THE VENUE COUNTRY HOTEL AT HARTIES on 10th November. We dropped off our luggage in room 65, went out to Harties for sightseeing when we came back after 2hrs30mn all our personal belongings were stolen. That day the same incident happen to room 64 (room next door to us) We lost everything (cloths, jewelries, money gift and money) It took the manager on duty hour to attend to our grievances and almost 4 hours to move us to a different room because we were not longer safe to sleep in room 65. The room that was given to us after the incident as a replacement had 2 singles bed instead of queen size bed initially requested by me when I was making my reservation. In the morning NO tooth brush or tooth paste were offered to us for our morning hygiene. No follow up was done in the morning with regards to our wellbeing. We did not see any sense of urgency from the staff to assist us during our awful and unforgettable experience. I have noticed later that the hotel doesn't have adequate security in their premise .Very poor security. No CAMERAS AND LIGHT AROUND THE PREMISES AT NIGHT . Further to that to the theft happening in their premises, guest /cars were not checked when exiting or entering the premises. The Hotel doesn’t want to take full responsibility of the incident and the lack of security. I did NOT receive any calls from the management with regards to the incident (I initiated the conversation with the manager Deon) I will appreciate the management take full responsibility of the incident and find a suitable solution with regards to our stolen luggage. WE SURELY WILL NOT ALLOW OUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY TO GO THROUGH THE SAME TRAUMA we went through. It has been worst experience ever for us . I am still looking forward for the management to take responsibility of our lost luggage (which we reported to the police) and find a suitable arrangement to reimbursed our lost items

Absolutely horrible! The receptionist wasnt helpful at all! Her attitude stinks! She seemed racist because all the other guests were treated better! We didn't receive water so we literally had to drink water for the bathroom when I asked the receptionist she said that we only get on arrival (which we didn't) when I told her we didn't she made an issue about it literally almost everyone who works there had bad manners.. We received one soap and one towel yet we were a couple booking in. The staffs attitude was a joke! Cos if this is how they treat people they should rather effen close the ****** place down! No dustbins were supplied so we literally had to get a bag on our own to store our dirt. The pool was dirty. When I asked for a laundry bag it was another issue like what the hell! Plus when we checked in the receptionist told me rudely not to be loud.. As if we had any intentions on being loud.. I'm not happy at all really! Never coming back here again and I'll make sure that I broadcast what a bad service we recieved from these ****** low class people.

Firstly i would not recomment this hotel to anyone..The pictures on the website differ from the actual rooms...i have been bitten numerous times by bedbugs..wifi was advertised but there was never any connection..i had no towels in my room and after requesting it only arrived 2 hours later.. The shower sprayed everywere else except on a person...the bathroom door was broken..my kids got burnt by the water goin cold n then hot on its own..My room was very dusty and the staff looked soo annoyed to assist with anything when asked...im really disapointed with the hotel and had i known that prior i cud have booked into a much better hotel..
