In 2019 I enrolled for a 3 month learnership in plumbing which consisted of a stipend, lunch and a certificate upon completion, according to the College they've been having a problem with the stipend being allocated to students as per contract,we only received PPE ,had to borrow money for transportation to attend our classes and had to bring our own lunch since we never received any ,I will like to atleast get my certificate because after enquiries about the certificate towards the end of the course we were told that they are there but they need to be signed by the College board, till today I haven't received my certificate and never got any feedback from the College

My sister Pamela registered to further her matric but then she was accepted into another institution then thekwini fet college refunded her with the fees she had already paid. Now she has been receiving calls from the attorneys saying that she owes them money which is not true because she did not study.

I did my N6 in 2008, I passed 3 subject and I failed 1 Labour Relations, now I lost my statement of results years back, I have been asking print out from Thekwini College but no luck I have been told that they upgraded their system, so they don't have statements from 2008. They only have statement from 2011. I even went to Dept of Education In Pretoria they said they will send it to Thekwini College. I want to write that subject I failed they want my Statement of Results for my N6, I called College again the guy said he is going to call me back he took my details but till today he hasn't, I have been calling College they are not answering the phone.

I registered with Thekwini City "TVET" College in January this year to do my N5 p/time in public management as I had to relocate from pmb where I attended my N4 p/time due to unforseen circumstances.

One would understand the excitment of having the chance to continue with what I started with in a new college in a new city, only to have all my hopes and dreams crush my people only out to suck every peny and i mean only to for the money out from families who work hard to send their kids out hopeing for the better.

Apparently lectures were starting in Feb, we weren't told of anything by mngt of the shortage of staff they were expriencing, so we just continued attending hopeing something would happen so eventually lectures started in April, and through that whole time we were harrased to make payments a month before that actual month began or we were locked out of the premises which they us about during registration so other students missed weeks at times of the little lectures we had because they were locked out of college, so going we rush through our modules and still didnt complete others because we had to write dpt tests we had to use our own material to write tests like using your own answer sheets and assignment questions were given to one student and everyone has to copy from that student theres no studying area for students so we use classrooms but we get kick out because theres no space for everyone, even then we still weren't having majority of lectures because our lecturer's just didnt pitch and now some students havent recieved timetables because the HOD whos job is to register us for exams didnt register us or registered us under the wrong subjects and blames the dpt for making the error but we all know that its him that made the error so some of us won't be writing exam this semester

I just feel that the college is short staffed and some lecturers arnt fully qualified and over crowded

My brother attended the college in 2008. He wrote his supplementary and passed. He now moved to Pretoria and needs to submit the results for numerous job applications. All we need is the reason and what can be done now. We visited The Department of Education and they say that the college did not submit the results. We contacted the college and they saying that it is too far back to view his results on their system. Can you believe that they don't even archive results? My brothers future depends on this and they keep saying we will be contacted with no luck.

I attended the above college in 2012, i had a a bursary from Makro to pay the fees as i was on a learnership with Makro and SETA.
My bursary was late so i paid my fees cash upfront, shortly after wards my bursary came through.
i did not attend the college and couldnt manage both my work/ leanership with Makro and study with Thekwini so i went and deregistered my student appilcation with Thekwini college.
i had handed over my student card and filled out all of the paper work which was required off me.
i had asked the relevant people at the time for a refund and had filled out all of the refund forms.
i was refunded R2000 of my money and queried the balance but could not do much as i have relocated from DBN. i now receive letters and calls from attorneys wanted me to make payment to the college.

my mothe had to pay Makro back the bursary money which they had paid, assuming she would be refunded from the college later on.
how is it justified that the college pays half the money back and not the other half and then send attorney letters asking for more money.
i have been sending emails and calling the college and to date i have received a 2nd lettter but no answer from T-C
