I walked in to place an order, the waiters ignored me.. continued chatting and when a white lady walks through the door, the staff all come running to offer her a table. It's truly pathetic. The food over the years has degraded while the price just increases. Not worth the hassle. Do not order from them on Uber, they will leave out items from your order.

I thought I'd give them a try tonight and ordered a Quattro Staggioni pizza and I must admit that it has been a while since I've had to eat something as terrible. It was dry as he'll given the lack, borderline absence, of tomato sauce, the artichokes were hard as rocks, the prosciutto was so dry that it was changing colour and then the cherry on top of the sundae, we're the two and a half olives cut into quarters. Certainly will not be back there again

I wanted to take a moment to share my experience at your establishment. First, I want to commend Lucille, who provided excellent service and made our visit enjoyable. However, I was quite disappointed with the behavior of a staff member named Muzi Dube, who didn't have a name tag. He approached my partner and me and asked what time we would be leaving, which felt inappropriate and intrusive, especially since we weren't informed about any reservations for our table. It left us feeling uncomfortable during our meal. I believe that customer service should always prioritize the comfort and enjoyment of guests, and I find it hard to understand how someone in a managerial position would behave in such a manner. I hope you can address this issue to ensure a better experience for future customers.

He approached my partner and me and asked what time we would be leaving, which felt inappropriate and intrusive, especially since we weren't informed about any reservations for our table. It left us feeling uncomfortable during our meal. I believe that customer service should always prioritize the comfort and enjoyment of guests, and I find it hard to understand how someone in a managerial position would behave in such a manner. I hope you can address this issue to ensure a better experience for future customers.

My family have been going to the Throbbing Strawberry for 20 years. Recently my daughter, having just escaped an abusive relationship, felt uncomfortable when the manager, a middle aged man, made romantic advances on her. She is 26. He sent her whatsapp messages and offered her a present. She did not respond. She has severe ptsd and is easily triggered by men who treat women in this way. I wrote a clear and reasoned complaint. I received no feedback. My daughter visited the restaurant and made it clear she was unhappy. The owner called me and we had a conversation. He assured me that he would take it up with HR. He said he supported women's rights. There was no written feedback, nor apology. We went back fit a meal. The waitresses pointedly ignored my daughter as if to make a point. We told this to the accountant. She said it was wrong. The next day, my daughter went back with a friend and was told to leave the premisses. She had need banned! I don't even know if this is legal. But it says a lot about the restaurant's attitude towards patrons and women in particular.

The ambiance is great, one can choose to sit inside or outside or on your own. The food is superb. Outstanding service. Everything about is is great for either an intimate meal and/or it extends itself for when one wants to have many people for an excellent meal. Hope this short review is enough to receive a Take a lot voucher. xoxoxo

As a very loyal and long standing customer at Throbbing Strawberry, i am completely shocked as to how I was treated by one of the employees - Riaan. on Friday 4th September, i was at the restaurant having lunch with a friend of mine and my daughter. none of their card machines were working, and as we had no cash on us, we were requested to go to the ATM to withdraw cash. all ATM's were down and we werent able to withdraw any cash, so we asked for an alternative way to pay so that we could settle the bill immediately. we were not given any other option, but to come back and pay at a later stage. the manager took a copy of my ID and cell number and I advised that i would try and come by over the weekend if i had time, but I would definitely be back to settle the bill. Firstly, not only was this extremely inconvenient for me as a customer, but i was hounded all weekend by calls. I went past on Monday 7th September to settle the bill, and the manager was EXTREMELY rude! i was told that i have been avoiding his calls, and that if i have a commitment that i need to honor it. after explaining that unfortunately, i tried to come past over the weekend, but as I have 2 babies at home, this was rather difficult. i also explained that i dont always have time to answer every call i receive, but when i did speak to him on Saturday, I advised that i will try my hardest to come by as soon as i can. not only am i insulted by his comments, its rather sad to see how loyal customers are treated, especially during such a difficult time, where we are still trying to support our local restaurants - yet get treated so poorly. ive loved Throbbing Strawberry but unfortunately, they have lost a very loyal customer because of thsi!

Waited for over 40 minutes for 1 drink. An hour for 1 menu. There were 2 of us. Waited from 15:30 until 19:00 for our food to arrive,this is by far the worst dining experience ever,not to mention the waiter was extremely slow,never checked up on us and all round just really bad service
