Toughees
Based on recent customer reviews, Toughees is facing significant customer dissatisfaction, particularly around its online ordering and after-sales experience. Customers consistently mention frustration with the returns and exchange process, citing unanswered emails, delayed refunds, and uncollected replacements that leave children without school shoes during critical back-to-school periods. A recurring theme is concern over product durability, with shoppers reporting peeling, cracking, and torn shoes within months of purchase, despite the brand's premium reputation. Positive feedback is rare but acknowledges quick delivery and free shipping when orders go smoothly.

I bought two pairs of school shoes and they were delivered within 3 days (order number 51943). However, the issue started when I requested for an exchange. The courier company (internet express) came to pick the shoes on the 21st of April 2026 and there is no update from Toughees or Bata shoes. I am so disappointed because my child is now going yo school with torn shoes. If this reaches toughees please respond. I am calling and when I am supposed to get transferred to exchange department the call is no longer answered

**Subject: Extremely Disappointed – Toughees Quality Is Not What It Claims** I am extremely disappointed in Toughees. I purchased a pair of black school shoes for my son in January 2026, trusting the brand’s reputation for durability and “100% leather” quality. After just 3 months, the shoes are already peeling. This is completely unacceptable for a product that is marketed as long-lasting and premium. School shoes are supposed to withstand daily wear, not fall apart within a single term. This experience feels misleading. Customers choose Toughees specifically because of its reputation, yet the product I received does not reflect that standard at all. I expect Toughees to take responsibility for this and provide a resolution. At the very least, I want a replacement or a full refund. Very unhappy and frustrated customer.

Dear Toughees, Beginning of the year my cousin purchased a pair of school shoes. The transaction was made at Ackerman's Stanger. The school they only opened on the 14th of January in KwaZulu Natal. But by the 14th of February there were already torned. I suggested she takes them back to Ackerman's Stanger. Where she was not assisted actually the blame was put to her. There are reason's as to why we still by Toughees instead of the other brands. She no longer has the receipt. I have the picture with the barcode if you need to investigate the full patch

I ordered SCHOOL SHOES online on the 5th of January, unfortunately I had to process a return on the one pair of school shoes. It is now the 11th of FEB and I have yet to get my money or my new pair of school shoes. TERRIBLE SLOW SERVICE

Bought a school shoe online on the Toughees SA website. The strap is way too small and it is not adjustable, don't even think a quality check was done as I have bought the exact same shoe the previous year and it was perfectly fine. I logged a refund on their website over a week ago and to date I have not received any feedback. Pathetic service, no customer support whatsoever. The email confirmation of my request states 48hrs, it is now over a week.
